"Elasticsearch for Search and Match"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Elasticsearch?

Combining traditional keyword search (BM25) with semantic vector search, enabling powerful hybrid retrieval. This makes it ideal for modern search experiences that require both precision and contextual understanding Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Elasticsearch?

Complex Configuration

The configuration process—especially for Elastic Enterprise Search—is often described as difficult and time-consuming. Users find that even basic setup tasks can be challenging without deep technical kno Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Very high, if they need to build a search feature or analyze time-series data like logs or metrics."
5/5
What do you like best about Elasticsearch?

The most compelling feature of Elasticsearch is its scalability and performance in handling high-volume, high-velocity data Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Elasticsearch?

The primary critique of Elasticsearch centers on its operational complexity and resource intensity at scale. While it offers immense power, it is not a tool you can simply 'set and forget. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Elasticsearch Review"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Elasticsearch?

- Reliable at scale: sharding and replication deliver solid HA; rolling restarts and node recovery are predictable when procedures are followed.

- Great for observability: fast searches/aggregations and the Elastic stack make log/metrics/APM pipelines effective for troubleshooting.

- Good ops surface: rich APIs and CAT endpoints make it scriptable, monitorable, and easy to automate runbooks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Elasticsearch?

- Finicky to run well: JVM/heap sizing, shard counts, and segment merges need care—or they bite during peak.

- Changes can be risky: upgrades, reindexing, and rebalances can cause latency spikes without tight change control.

- Costly footprint: hot nodes are CPU/IO heavy; replicas and long retention drive storage costs; licensing/features add complexity. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Elasticsearch for Observability"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Elasticsearch?

We run Elastic on Kubernetes and have run up to 20 separate elastic clusters throughout the world. Three years ago we invested in the ECK operator and consolidated 9 of those elastic clusters down to 3. ECK has increased our confidence to run fewer, larger environments with multiple node pools and greater flexibility. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Elasticsearch?

Elasticsearch can be a bear to tune for performance, at scale, on a budget. Like any database, it's resource hungry. Additionally, the company has work to do to keep up with modern-day vulnerability management practices and remediation schedules. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Elasticsearch?

Slight learning curve, as it can do many things, you need to be aware of the use case you are solving for or it can get overwhelming without proper planning. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Elastic is Just Superb."
5/5
What do you like best about Elasticsearch?

I like its performance, it's very good at faster response when compared with other monitoring tools. The API response was too fast. There are many connectors available to get the data from different systems like Kafka, databases, MongoDB, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Elasticsearch?

I don't see Elastic being user-friendly from Kibana while running the searches. Splunk is good in that regard. I really want improvements in that area. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
