"Easy Integration and Support, but Upgrades Can Be Time-Consuming"
What do you like best about EcoSys?

The software is straightforward to configure and meets our requirements effectively. I have found customer support to be responsive whenever assistance is needed. Integration with other HEXAGON products, as well as our in-house systems, is also seamless. Additionally, HEXAGON regularly updates the software with the latest features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about EcoSys?

Most of the time, upgrading the software disrupts the existing configuration, which often leads to several interactions with the support team. They need to replicate the issue on their end before it can be forwarded to the development team, where it is then scheduled for a fix in a future release. This entire process usually requires a patch from the vendor, making software upgrades a time-consuming task. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlined Project Management, Needs UI Enhancement"
What do you like best about EcoSys?

I love data management for a project on a single platform which makes it easy to report numbers to various internal and external stakeholders. Earlier, most stakeholders had to maintain offline files for their reporting and analysis. With EcoSys, these silo operations have significantly reduced, making reporting for multiple teams very convenient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about EcoSys?

I feel the UI can be improved more and a better built-in data visualization feature with more advanced AI agents. I feel a cleaner dashboard on the home screen with customization to add other data fields for a quick overview of important numbers and an option for real-time data updates once changes are made in the source. "Powerful Dashboard, Perfect for Complex Projects"
What do you like best about EcoSys?

I really appreciate how EcoSys presents itself as a very structured and mature platform, offering a more sophisticated project management experience compared to JIRA and ASANA. Its structured nature makes it feel like a grown-up solution for dealing with complex digital transformation projects in both private and public sectors. Additionally, what stands out to me is EcoSys's superior dashboard capabilities, which I find to be significantly better than those offered by ASANA. This mature system integrates seamlessly with ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, and Infor, providing a robust platform for efficient project management. Even though the initial setup is advanced, akin to setting up an ERP, EcoSys’s intricate capabilities and functionalities make it a valuable tool for my projects, justifying the complexity with its mature approach. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about EcoSys?

Since it's a more mature system, setting up a new project on EcoSys takes a while. Additionally, the initial setup feels advanced, resembling more closely the setup of an ERP rather than a typical project management software, which makes it not as easy to get started with compared to other options. I believe that EcoSys could benefit from offering better templates specifically for smaller projects focused on services for the government. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful, Centralized, Yet Needs Faster Performance"
What do you like best about EcoSys?

I find EcoSys to be incredibly powerful and centralized, which greatly enhances my work with project controls and performance tracking. The dashboards are particularly valuable, providing me with instant visibility into the health of my projects. This immediate insight allows me to make informed decisions quickly and with confidence. EcoSys also significantly improves forecast accuracy, budget management, change control, auditability, and reporting efficiency, solving critical challenges in my workflow. The transition from Excel-based tracking to a centralized system with EcoSys has notably advanced our reporting capabilities, offering a more seamless and integrated experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about EcoSys?

I dislike the performance issues when handling large datasets in EcoSys, as they can load slowly, which hampers efficiency. Additionally, the filtering and search functionalities are quite limited. Improving the speed, offering more flexible filters, and incorporating a smarter search would significantly enhance the efficiency of the platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Unified Platform, Needs a Visual Upgrade"
What do you like best about EcoSys?

I really appreciate the dashboards in EcoSys as they cater to my affinity for data. These dashboards allow me to analyze performance versus forecasts, which is crucial for our ability to review our performance effectively. By assessing our past performances, we can feed this data back into our planning processes, facilitating continuous improvement, which is a significant aspect for us. Additionally, I value how customizable these dashboards are, allowing me to tailor the data visualization to my specific needs, enhancing my ability to extract valuable insights and make informed decisions. What do you dislike about EcoSys?

I think the UI of EcoSys looks a bit dated. Some of the colors and overall design are not particularly modern or slick, which can be off-putting for users who interact with it daily. In using software, I want to feel like I’m working with cutting-edge technology, and right now, EcoSys doesn't fully convey that feeling, even if it functions well behind the scenes. I believe updating the look and feel would be a straightforward improvement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"EcoSys is a Unified Platform having Industry Best practices with no-code configurability"
What do you like best about EcoSys?

EcoSys EPP is a uniquely integrated platform that brings together Project Portfolio Management, Project Controls, and Project Management into a single, cohesive solution. Having worked with EcoSys since 2015, I’ve witnessed its evolution and the significant impact it has had on improving decision-making and delivering measurable business value. Clients have reported up to 85% ROI, a 25% increase in controller productivity, and a 20% reduction in cost overruns.

As a web and mobile-based solution, EcoSys eliminates the need for additional client installations, enhancing accessibility and ease of use across the organization. Its ability to be easily tailored to meet industry-specific requirements is one of its standout strengths, making it a versatile and powerful tool for enterprise project performance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about EcoSys?

To support the implementation of new features or applications, Hexagon offers the option to engage its own expert resources. This assistance is provided in exchange for configuration support hours, billed on an hourly basis. While this service ensures high-quality delivery, it comes at a relatively premium cost. "Great User Interface, Room for Improvement"
What do you like best about EcoSys?

Its user interfaceEcosys is a lean, component-driven manufacturing cost analysis and quoting platform designed for OEMs and tier suppliers. It bridges engineering, procurement, and finance by translating design and process inputs into real-time should-costs and price breakdowns.

Strengths:

Solid database of regional labor, material, and machine rates for accurate parametric costing.

Excellent visualization of cost drivers (material, conversion, overhead, margin).

Integrates clean-sheet costing directly with supplier quotes for negotiation prep.

Good for global sourcing teams and advanced NPI cost tracking. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about EcoSys?

Ecosys is powerful but clunky — data setup takes too long, the UI feels dated, and customizing cost models or regional factors isn’t intuitive. It delivers insights, but you have to fight the tool to get them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"EcoSys is powerful for project control, but training is tough and the interface isn’t user-friendly."
What do you like best about EcoSys?

What I like best about EcoSys is how it centralizes project controls budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking all in one place. It integrates smoothly with our systems and gives real-time visibility into performance. It’s been especially useful for tracking earned hours and managing engineering workflows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about EcoSys?

What I dislike about EcoSys is that the interface feels cluttered. It takes quite a bit of training to get comfortable using it effectively. I’ve also run into issues with data syncing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Efficient Project Controls Platform with Room for Improvement"
What do you like best about EcoSys?

EcoSys offers powerful integration with enterprise systems, making it a strong tool for unified project controls. The ability to customize dashboards and reports enables greater visibility and decision-making across teams. Its modular structure supports project lifecycle management from budgeting to forecasting with real-time insights. We particularly value how EcoSys centralizes cost tracking, change management, and earned value analysis, reducing the need for manual processes and spreadsheets. It’s ideal for complex, multi-phase projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about EcoSys?

While EcoSys is feature-rich, the user interface can be unintuitive and overwhelming, especially for new or non-technical users. Initial setup and implementation require considerable training, and the learning curve is steep for some users. Performance may lag with large datasets, and reporting customization sometimes lacks flexibility compared to other BI tools. Integration with non-standard third-party systems can also be challenging without dedicated IT support. Improved onboarding tools and more responsive in-app support would enhance the overall experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"EcoSys is my perfect solution!!!"
What do you like best about EcoSys?

the visibility it gives into project performance — the dashboards and reports make it much easier to stay on top of budgets and schedules, and I can pull the information I need pretty quickly. It definitely saves me time compared to juggling spreadsheets. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about EcoSys?

I’ve been using EcoSys (Hexagon) for project controls, mainly around cost tracking and reporting. At first, it felt a bit overwhelming because there are so many features and setup options, but once I got familiar with the system, it really started to make a difference.
