We were able to create and equate the virtual behavior of physical models such as calculating the angles of servo motors and then we integrated to simulate the model.

Feature rich models
Easy to implement custom based library
Real and virtual simulations using fmi

Not sufficient knowledge is provided by the company on open source basis.

Difficult for the students who don't have the system requirements 

Requirement of internet speed is much more than normal connection

**What do you like best about Dymola?**

I worked for almost year in Dymola. It is more user friendly. 
We can change the inner modelica codes of each submodel in libraries. I worked on Autombile Airconditioning. My objective was to model a pipe which can calculate the pressure drop during 2 phase flow using existing pipe models in dymola. So
I developed new pipe models using existing models in dymola for that particular project. The simulation results came very close to actual results after i modelled the pipes. so, I like Dymola very much. 
Also, there is  option to run c codes for automation of simulation. which helped me very much as I had to run a lots of simulations.

**What do you dislike about Dymola?**

Modelica codes are little difficult to understand. Also the submodels which are compactible to using in model should be highlighed properly. During compiling the reason for a some errors are very difficult to identify. there should be proper highlighting of the reason and the submodel which is causing the error.

**Recommendations to others considering Dymola:**

Dymola is more an open source type software because we can edit its submodels using modelica coding. It was very helpful for my project. if you have similar works this software is perfect for you.

**What problems is Dymola solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I worked on Autombile Airconditioning works in Dymola. I used 2 phase library mainly. I worked on pipe models with 2 phase pressure drop calculations. My objective is to model a pipe which can calculate the pressure drop during 2 phase flow using existing pipe models in dymola. So, for that I done lots of literature reviews and i found lots of correlations for finding pressure drop in pipe for multiphase flow. As we can edit most sub models of Dymola, It was very helpful for my project.

**What do you like best about Dymola?**

Best part of using Dymola is one can simulate the mathematical models of the designs created.

We can also integrate real and virtual time scenarios to check our results.

Using its feature rich library, we can customise the components according to our requirement and can edit those models later also.

**What do you dislike about Dymola?**

lack of proper instructions and inadequate tutorials related to each and every feature of dymola which sometimes let user to spend more time on brainstorming and results in delayed the project.

System requirements are something that they should work upon.

We created a mechanical design having some kinematic functions and we have controlled all its links and joints by creating the behavior modelling. Later on with the help of fmi based feature we controlled all the real manipulators that is connected outside serially.

We were intergrating an external micro-controller to get the values of sensor inside the fmi. For this we created all the required blocks in the behavior modelling and we successfully simulated it. We were able to run every analog sensors as well as a actuators in virtual as well as real environment

There is not much documentation is available for reference. Need to explore and find different tools while using software.

Any designer who wants to make its product to use in real time like digital twin with IOT enabled solution then must use this tool. Just be sure to get proper info due to unavailability of proper documentation.

I used Dymola for integrating my real time embedded system with IOT into my design. I recommend every designer to use this tool to make its design simulation more realtime.

**What do you like best about Dymola?**

I am  Senior Simulation Engineer with Mercedes Benz India , I have been using Dymola for almost 4 Years. It is a very hand tool to the Simulation Engineer for System Model development . I have developed Electromechanical System Model , Heating System Model . Also FMU helps us sharing the model for Software testing and integration Engineer for the validation and verification.

**What do you dislike about Dymola?**

Error handling is the worst past. You cannot do step by step error debugging.

**Recommendations to others considering Dymola:**

I would suggest using the tool because it provides standard library with that user can develop lot of Models. For Advanced use you have to purchase seperate Library.

The cloud online solution for modeling and specially for real time simulation. I mostly used for Digital twining application and it worked prefect.

I am unable to find proper tutorials or sufficient information while using Dymola.

Must use to represent and use modern technologies like AI IOT with current modeling and simulation work. Just need to spend more time exploring various tools as not enough documentation  available.

The organisation of modelica library components in the current window panel. It is very easy to browse around, search for individual library components and drag and drop entities.

There is not enough supporting documentation when it comes to fixing errors in simultion.

Limited libraries from Dassault, dependency on third-party libraries. But since it Is Modelica, it's no big disadvantage.

**What do you like best about Dymola?**

Dymola is a software for modeling and simulation of different environments, used in Automotive industry, Aerospace industry, or energy efficiency in our case.
The open and adaptable structure makes Dymola a instrument to recreate new or elective outlines and innovations. Dymola depends on Modelica, which is a open-source software maintained by the Modelica Association.

**What do you dislike about Dymola?**

The Modelica software is totally open but the Dymola software is a paid program that is not cheap.

**Recommendations to others considering Dymola:**

Good software, that allows working with different engineering families and it's compatible with different model libraries for many engineering fields. Based in Modelica that it's a powerful, object-oriented modeling language

**What problems is Dymola solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dymola allows as to develop and simulate any physical component that can be described by algebraic equations or ordinary and partial  differential equations (PDE)  at the lowest level
