What is Draw.io, and what problem is it built to solve?

Draw.io is a diagramming app for Confluence and Jira that helps teams collaborate on whiteboards and create diagrams for processes, organizations, networks, architecture, UML, and other needs.

What company sizes and industries is Draw.io the best fit for?

Draw.io shows up across small businesses, mid-market organizations, and enterprises, with particularly strong representation in technology-related and education settings. The most visible company-size and industry segments include:
  • Small Business — teams of 50 or fewer employees
  • Mid-Market — organizations with 51–1,000 employees
  • Enterprise — organizations with more than 1,000 employees
  • Information Technology and Services
  • Computer Software
  • Education Management
  • Design
  • Financial Services

What customer support options does Draw.io provide, and how do users find the overall support experience?

Draw.io support is available through chat, a knowledge base, FAQs and forums, and email or a help desk. The support experience is mixed: email help is described as useful, while some users have found it difficult to reach support or less helpful than they needed; others have not needed to contact support.

What tools and platforms does Draw.io integrate with, and how do these integrations help users get more value from the product?

Draw.io lists 1 integration: Cursor. In everyday workflows, users also describe connecting or saving diagrams through cloud storage and productivity tools, code repositories, and Atlassian products:
  • Cloud storage — Google Drive, OneDrive, and Dropbox
  • Code repositories — GitHub and GitLab
  • Atlassian — Jira and Confluence
  • Productivity and task tools — Google Docs and Trello
These connections help teams store, share, and embed diagrams alongside the documents and project work they already use.

What features or capabilities could make Draw.io even more useful?

Draw.io could be more useful with richer options for tailoring diagrams and smoother handling of detailed work. Common improvement requests include:
  • More specialized templates, shapes, and up-to-date icon packs for specific use cases
  • More visual styling and formatting choices for polished, presentation-ready diagrams
  • Simpler, more reliable controls for positioning shapes and routing arrows and connectors
  • Stronger version history and autosave options to make changes easier to track and recover
  • More consistent real-time collaboration for teams editing diagrams together

"Draw.io's Easy Diagramming: A User-Friendly Experience"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Draw.io?

A great tool for producing flowcharts, diagrams, and other visual representations of concepts is Draw.io. I appreciate its user-friendly interface the most about it. Even folks who aren't extremely tech-savvy can use it because it is simple to use and intuitive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Draw.io?

Another small drawback is that the offline mode's functionality is constrained in comparison to the online version. If you need to work without an internet connection, this can be a problem. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"How Draw.io Helps You Make Flowcharts and Designs with Ease"
5/5
What do you like best about Draw.io?

Simplicity. What I love most about Draw.io is its standalone version. It does not need any web app or subscription to access its features like other tools. It lets me use all its functions and capabilities by just dragging and dropping. I don’t have to spend much time learning how to make blueprints with this tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Draw.io?

I like everything about it. It’s easy and hassle-free to work on tasks with this tool. The only issue I have sometimes is saving a specific design. It needs some manual input every time I want to save a project. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Distracting "Saving..." warning"
2.5/5
What do you like best about Draw.io?

It (the standalone version) is fairly easy to use and quite similar to Gliffy. Looks good, except for the unnecessary "saving..." messages. Fast. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Draw.io?

* If autosaving is enabled, there is a distracting message "Saving..." in the top bar. Disabling autosaving just makes it even worse, a red alert box saying "Unchanged saves". This is poor UX, especially as there seems to be no way to disable it.

* Grouping objects and moving groups doesn't work as expected.

* Errors in the Swedish translation. For example, "Saving" is incorrectly translated into "Sparande", which means Savings. The correct translation would be "Sparar".

* Contact support is a complicated and time-consuming process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy to use for multiple uses"
5/5
What do you like best about Draw.io?

Draw.io is very easy to use to create org chart, flow charts, technical drawings, engineering diagrams and other uses. I personally use it to map out systems in my business and CRM. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Draw.io?

The app does what it is supposed to do I haven't come across anything I needed it to do that wasn't supported. I do tend to my make drawing in a poor scale and I suppose that could be fired because when it's done I can't print it in the format I need it to - but I think there is a way to fix the canvas size to prevent this problem. "Easy to use and free"
5/5
What do you like best about Draw.io?

Easy to use

Free

Straightforward features and intuitive to understand and navigate

Able to export in different formats

Easy to customise

It has pre-loaded templates you can start from or a blank canvas to draw your own for the most experienced Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Draw.io?

Saving patterns are a little annoying when wanting to change location

A little old-fashioned in look, but it does not affect its performance; it would do with a bit of modernisation.

Essential functions but excellent features for a free system. It gives all you need for simple charts and flows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Draw.io is a great tool to draw anything you want and save it quickly without any hassle"
5/5
What do you like best about Draw.io?

Draw.io is a lightweight and straightforward tool just like MS Paint. It is constructive to draw a lot of types of charts and easy to export and share. You can also save it in its file format to resume the work later. A lot of templates too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Draw.io?

UI looks a little old. I've used other apps similar to it and I felt it had a comparatively poor UI. It needs development on that part. Also, I felt the help is not that supportive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Draw.io?

-Clean user interface

-Beginners friendly, so if you're new to this tool it still would feel easy to use

-Easy and real-time collab with teams

-Multiple diagram export options

-Also offers advanced features like layers, alignment guides, grid snapping, and rulers, enabling precise control over the diagram's layout and design Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Draw.io?

-While it has a user-friendly interface, mastering all its features may require some time

-It would be great to see some kind of automation for diagram, currently it lacks the same Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy to use tool to create architecture diagrams and database models"
4/5
What do you like best about Draw.io?

The simplicity of Draw is its biggest asset. Rather than complicating the product with fancy UI, it focuses on the essential drag and drop with standard, regularly used patterns and features, ensuring that diagrams and models are quick to make and export

It allows a variety of save, export and share options Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Draw.io?

Accessibility is limited, given the product has not considered that a focus point. It often gets hard to manipulate drag and drop. There's no cross platform availability.

Sharing is also limited to Google drive users only Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
