I'm using the rich media capability, incorporating audio, video, animated video, text and interactive exercises to enriched the learning experience. Support services are outstanding. **What do you dislike about dominKnow | ONE?** One consideration is that solopreneur educators and trainers, such as myself, might need third-party help if they lack the time to thoroughly learn how to use the tool. Still, there are plenty of resources available for learning, and it is possible to get extra support if needed. **What problems is dominKnow | ONE solving and how is that benefiting you?** DominKnow One is constantly evolving to offer a wide range of features that cater to the diverse needs of organizations creating advanced training, development, and educational courses. I have used Articulate Rise, and after using dominKnow, I realize how limiting Rise is. I can do more customization with dominKnow than a user can with Rise. I initially liked how Rise looked and thought about switching from dominKnow to Rise, but I quickly realized looks are deceiving. I will also say dominKnow's customer support is top-notch. They are very responsive and work quickly to address any issues. I also appreciate our Customer Success Manager, who is also quick to answer any questions and pass along feedback. **What do you dislike about dominKnow | ONE?** I would love to take the classes they offer on using variables and creating games; however, the cost is prohibitive. I wish they would offer more affordable options so I could fully use everything dominKnow has to offer. **What problems is dominKnow | ONE solving and how is that benefiting you?** The reason we chose dominKnow was that it offered the ability to create simulations. Our learners love the added interactivity and practice in the training material. ### 3. Though we also the Articulate 360 which includes Rise that can author mobile responsive courses, Rise is very limited in terms of custom interactions, reporting needs, xAPI support and data that we can capture from those courses. I see dominKnow as a very good combination between Storyline (custom interactions & other capabiliites) and Rise (mobile responsive content). Beyond this, what sets this vendor apart from the others is the excellent support, and the great team that stands behind their product. From initial training to any troubleshooting that we needed, we've gotten the fastest response and the most helpful support from dominKnow. And unlike Articulate where we can submit a bug or a feature request and have to wait for years for them to prioritize and implement them (one issue & feature I submitted have been in their queue for over 4 years, with many others voting on it), dominKnow team closesly collaborates with you to understand your issues, or ideas and then either implements those changes or follows up with you later once those changes/fixes have been made (usually within a month or two the most!). I especially would like to call our their SVP, Dr. Paul Schneider for the personalized attention and help he's provided to our team, especially during some issues we recently came across with integrations with our new LMS. He went above and beyond and offered to jump on calls and emails as needed to help us get things sorted (the issue turned out to be from the LMS vendor side, not dominKnow). So, kudos to the whole dominKnow team! **What do you dislike about dominKnow | ONE?** dominKnow does have a steeper learning curve than some of the other tools, hence not the fastest to implement. The GUI could be a more user friendly, and can use some UX optimization. However, as I mentioned before, their support/team members more than makes up for these by providing excellent service! **What problems is dominKnow | ONE solving and how is that benefiting you?** dominKnow has a lot more expanded mobile responsive authoring capabilities that other tools that we've evaluated. We needed mobile responsive content with specific data collection and customization needs - dominKnow met these (and more!). ### 4. Crowd-sourcing information is an interesting approach, but would be more effective if only correct information (or questions with good answers) are available in searches. The documentation could be more explicit and easier to find. I must note that I am on an enterprise-hosted instance, so we are not always on the most recent software version which adds a big nuisance factor to the dedicated and versy responsive customer service/tech support people. **What do you dislike about dominKnow | ONE?** While anything is possible, re-use is very difficult without creating a library of html widgets. IMO that makes this tool powerful, but not easy for the average ISD who has limited scripting skills. The GUI, which I suspect is intended to simplify development for non html/css/javascript writers actually gets in the way of implementing customized widgets. I really enjoy watching the podcast with Brent and Chris! **What do you dislike about dominKnow | ONE?** Capture has been the most time-consuming part of creating modules for my team. Having the option to select ALL features (censoring and draw) then pasting them on each frame would save us so much time. The option to copy and paste (in the exact location) one by one has been helpful though. The industry we are in is a little outside the norm, so we often have to make content from scratch. This solves our problem of LMS content, because you can't really use LMS content off-the-shelf when you are a consumer reporting agency. ### 7. Though it feels more like web page design compared stoyline, I am getting used to it. **What do you dislike about dominKnow | ONE?** - I dislike that many key cotrols are logged in the profile. - The FX features can only be used per element and not added to anentire page. - The user guide search tool is very limited when it comes to looking up terms and I cannot bookmark anything - The storyline player opens the LO menu when the course starts and there is no ability to turn this off. - No ability to turm on/off the next page titles in the navigation button in storyline - BIG HATE: End of module / course is over complex and should have the ability to not use the master pages or the requied default pages. Specifically, the combination of Flow and Capture allow us to create responsive, interactive, engaging content to help our customers learn our technical software. We only create customer-facing learning content using dK and the Show Me, Guide Me, Try Me options with Capture were game changing for us. We receieve great feedback from our customers about the learning content we produce using dominKnow. **What do you dislike about dominKnow | ONE?** DominKnow is inconsistent in its user experience. It can be slow and even non-responsive at times, even with a solid internet connection. Sometimes features just don't work as expected. We are struggling with a few "incomplete" features at this time but we are working with the dK team to address these. **What problems is dominKnow | ONE solving and how is that benefiting you?** DominKnow allows us to create the type of customer-facing learning content that we want to create, responsive, interactive and engaging content. Other similar tools I have used do not offer all of the same features including a full library of images and avatars; an ability to create a content-review process; a PPT converter; etc. Plus, it is simple to use and includes great help as well as a community to see other examples that people have developed. **What do you dislike about dominKnow | ONE?** Honestly, I can't think of anything I dislike **What problems is dominKnow | ONE solving and how is that benefiting you?** While 3rd-party content serves a purpose, the ability to create our own content due to specific needs including certain images, text and laws. With this tool, we can not only build the content but put it through a review to make sure legal, marketing and all other groups are satisfied with the content. ### 10. Now I use DominKnow, my courses are future proof because they comply with newer standards like CMI5 and xAPI. I can find that elsewhere, but not if I *also* want them to look great on mobile devices and be quick to build. I love that I can add "widgets" to it to expand functionality such as custom interactives into the product itself - I can't do that with others. I actually added one that makes courses automatically adjust to reflect the legislation of each user's home state. That's how flexible it is. **What do you dislike about dominKnow | ONE?** There is not much to be honest. I guess it would be great if more courses "out there" had been built using DominKnow so there was an existing body of work, but that would mean that it would have had to be *old* like the others and so I'd be missing the freshness and modernness I get with DominKnow. Anyway I'm aware DominKnow is releasing converters so I know it won't be an issue in future anyway. **What problems is dominKnow | ONE solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our business creates eLearning courses for demanding clients. Until now we've had to juggle multiple tools and tell them "yes you can have that... but it means you cant have THAT" because every other tool is missing something they want. With the older well known tools, we can use Rise and make your course mobile friendly... but then we can't add even a simple drag/drop! Or... "yes we can use Storyline and add cool interactives... but it no... it won't work well on a mobile". Then we got DominKnow, started ticking all boxes with a single platform and never looked back. Through dominKnow|ONE Flow you can create responsive e-learning with ease, with all the functionality and possibilities (and more) of traditional e-learning. Your learners are able to access your amazing e-learning content on any device, without any additional work from the instructional designer. Gone are the days of being forced into set templates when you want your e-learning to be responsive (as other tools do) β€” you have full creative freedom with dominKNow. This unlocks so many possibilities to create engaging, creative and interactive learning experiences. dominKnow works well, but on the rare occasions issues arise (or you just are unsure how to achieve something) their support team are super quick to reply and helpful . There are also helpful virtual user meet ups where the dominKnow team and your fellow designers can offer support and you can be inspired by what others are doing with this powerful tool. If more traditional e-learning is what you are after, than you can just switch to dominKnow|One Claro, which has all the features (and more) found on leading desktop tools. But, in contrast to those traditional tools, as dominKnow is cloud based it makes collaboration, review and asset management easy. I've tried many different authoring tools, but dominKnow is the best and most versatile out there, and is my 'go to' tool that I recommend at any opportunity I can! **What do you dislike about dominKnow | ONE?** dominKnow is great - there aren't many downsides! But, if you are designing responsive or mobile-first e-learning for the first time, this approach can take a small amount of getting used to- but once you've got the hang of how responsive design works, you'll be producing amazing responsive e-learning in no time. **What problems is dominKnow | ONE solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our clients and their learners are increasingly asking for responsible e-learning that can work on any size screen to reflect the range of devices learners are accessing e-learning on. dominKnow gives me the flexibility to build responsive learning experiences that work on all devices with the same functions, interactivity and features of traditional e-leanring (and more besides). This is something that most other tools do not offer (instead they force you into pre-defined templates with limited interactivity) but this is not the case with dominKNow- you can create responsive, fully featured, immersive learning experiences. ### 20. It looks and feels like PowerPoint, but on steroids. It was easy for our team, who had no development experience, to take the software and create training. We have also taken the platform and standardized powerpoints/training for our classroom training, allowing for consistent content in our classrooms. The templates and the dynamic views are very helpful and allow for anyone to take the platform out of the box and create anything for any organziation. **What do you dislike about dominKnow | ONE?** I wish there were more stock photo samples. There are quite a few to choose from, but would be better if more. **Recommendations to others considering dominKnow | ONE:** Any organization that is looking at development software for training assets do not look past dominKnow. It does so much more than allow for the development of training. As per my experience is what have I learned is, if you have to team that wanted to work on a cloud based application instead of other desktop authoring tool. then you can go for it. You can do collectively working multiple member in a single course is too much ease. file sharing, course assignment, review, feedback collection, all neccessary task you can do easily and in an automated way. **What problems is dominKnow | ONE solving and how is that benefiting you?** During project development, we raised some issue with the domiknow team for projects bugs like course loading and completion issue. executing triggers, issue with inbuilt question behaviour etc. ### 36. The user interface is a bit strange with a lot of redundancies, but that has improved a lot in the latest iterations. Support is helpful and very accessible. Lessons created are responsive, eye-pleasing, and engaging. **What do you dislike about dominKnow | ONE?** No program is perfect, but the one main gripe we have about this software: The cloud-based format means that we can't control when updates are applied. These updates sometimes break existing functions which require a lot of back-tracking of un-published lessons. At the time of this review, we still have a backlog of bugs awaiting resolution. There must be a way to buffer this update cycle or go back to an older version. **What problems is dominKnow | ONE solving and how is that benefiting you?** As our users diversify their lesson platforms, we wanted to have lessons responsive so as not to cripple their learning experience. Wonderful tech support team; very responsive. **What do you dislike about dominKnow | ONE?** UI takes some getting used to. They've arranged things a little differently than the other authoring tools do. (Not a problem after familiarizing yourself with it.) **Recommendations to others considering dominKnow | ONE:** Beyond the Flow authoring tool (which is what we primarily use), DominKnow does offer more authoring solutions that are a little more traditional in their nature.
