As the name implies, DokuWiki is made for documentation, manuals and descriptions. This is also, where the software can score its most points. It is possible to create nicely formatted and easy to read documentation and information. In addition, the installation and menu are quite easy. System resources and especially needed space for the install are also low. Of course this is unaffected by the amount of data you might later store in the DokuWiki, but it generally works fast and is really great if you are looking for a tool specifically for documentations. While DokuWiki does certainly perform its duties more than well, the design looks a bit dated and simple. The default theme after installation looks somewhat like a software from the early 2000s. Probably, after DokuWiki has been first published, the design never received an overhaul. On the other hand, this simplicity might be especially what other users are looking for. This is a software we use to document most of the details about the instalations we have in my company. It is an easy way to put all the knowledge together.
