In the end it is a minimalistic, but beautiful and very powerful UI for a database. The initial implementation/setup is quick and the customer support of Directus kick-starts you with a pretty decent base, based on your project requirements. But with features that can easily make it a fully-fledged CMS, as well. And much more when utilizing the many comunity-driven extensions available in the marketplace. With the "flows" feature it's very easy to add powerful automation and the development team behind Directus has the right mindset of abstraction for new features that gives you the maximum power to achieve even complex goals using the UI. As there is a wide range of SDKs and examples / starter kits available, integration in your application is easy, as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
If there was a free plan, or at least a very low cost plan that doesn't cost me more than USD 100 a year, Directus would be my preferred BaaS solution for my private projects, as well. I would wish for some features Directus lacks compared to other headless CMS providers, like shared data models across instances, branching and some other, but the Directus team also comes up with new features quickly and I have trust that Directus will become more and more powerful while maintaining high flexibility in the near future.
