Knowledge base sucks! You should be extremely lucky to make a support manager answer any question in a day. Two-three days response time is a usual thing in Dexi... If you just want to build a simple scraper then you would better use another scraper (more user friendly with the support who respect their paid users). If you would belive Dexi's marketing that you will be able to create several scrapers, scrape data from different websites, combine these data, and then send it to your database - forget it, you won't be able even to understand how all these features work because no one will tell you that! No tutorials, no hints, no support, no help... Except if you agree to pay $250 per each scraper or function. So if you want to scrape several websites, combine and format data and then send all these data to your database - you would need to pay an extra $1000-$1500 for that along with a $400 per month subscription... **Recommendations to others considering Dexi:** Never, never try this piece of ch...! **What problems is Dexi solving and how is that benefiting you?** Scraping pricing information from several particular websites on a daily basis and uploading it into my database. ### 2. This reviewer was offered a nominal gift card as thank you for completing this review. **Reviewed Date:** November 02, 2018 **What do you like best about Dexi?** One advantage is that the visual editor makes web automation accessible to individuals who aren't comfortable with coding. Another benefit is that all web automation "robots" you construct are powered by Dexi, so you won't need to set up a server/scheduler yourself. Also, I like that the support for third-party services (captcha solvers, cloud storage, etc.) can be easily integrated into your robots. Another advantage is that web automation is far from as simple as people think. I have a lot of experience working with different automation frameworks (mostly Selenium), so I'm well aware of how challenging these things can be at times. So I'm somewhat impressed with what the Dexi team has managed to build here. Also, I have to highlight that while the support team can be somewhat slow to respond at times (and this is coming from someone on the priciest account level), they definitely know their stuff. Any issues you encounter in Dexi can usually be resolved by them, though the time it takes for said resolution varies a lot. **What do you dislike about Dexi?** One disadvantage is that the robot manager in Dexi is both a blessing and a curse. If you're not used to working with web automation, you'll find it much more helpful than writing code, but if you're well-versed in Selenium, for example, you'll certainly experience some frustration at times. Another disadvantage is that Dexi has an API, which is great, but many things can be done through their API that there's no support for at the moment. For example, retrieving artifacts from a failed execution (logs, screenshots). Also, I have to highlight that there's also the fact that your bots aren't being executed in a "normal" browser, but rather Dexi's custom browser. This means actions you can perform without issue in your own web browser may not work the same way when you try them out in a Dexi robot. And if you do encounter this, and there's no other way to execute the action you're attempting to perform, you're completely out of luck and need to contact the Dexi support team for help. I understand that my use of this product is likely more advanced than the average user, so these complaints may not apply to your use case. Dexi is, in general, a great service. **Recommendations to others considering Dexi:** You only need a computer and a network connection. Also, I have to highlight that if you have any problem, you have to contact the technical support, and they will give you an answer in less than three days. **What problems is Dexi solving and how is that benefiting you?** I have used Dexi to download data from a specific site that does not readily provide download links. I discovered this product after two weeks of reviewing different options, including some of the well-known commercial software programs. What made me choose it was the excellent customer support. They provided me with every assistance I requested and even added some features to their product to better deliver what I wanted. Moreover, it is very user-friendly and easy to use for anyone. It was also fast. I would recommend considering it as a serious option for online data scraping tasks. ### 3. It is very easy to use and very user friendly. The next things is that the user interface of dexi is very good. The pricing of dexi is also a plus because even after spending some money on dexi to build a robot for me to scrape the website, I would still be in profit as the pricing of dexi is very reasonable. There are different types of robots built for different kinds of requirements. So one need not search for different types of scraping tools when ever there is a new website to be scraped. Dexi is a one stop place for all your scraping needs. **What do you dislike about Dexi?** I do not particularly dislike anything about dexi, but i would say that initially, it was a bit tricky to get acquainted with the tool but once you get a hang of it, you would scrape websites in no time. The other concern is that the website is pretty slow. It takes a lot of patience and time to build a robot and scrape the data. One more thing is that, there are few bugs which are to be rectified. Lastly, there is some more development needed for different criteria in the robots. **Recommendations to others considering Dexi:** This is a great software. I recommend all to use it atleast once. Though it is tricky initially, later on you would be amazed of the capabilities of dexi. So go on and give it a try. **What problems is Dexi solving and how is that benefiting you?** I can now scrape many websites using Dexi I need not worry every-time to write codes or to find new tools to scrape different websites, i can use dexi for most of the web scraping. This is an easy solution for all my scraping needs. It saves my time which can be used for some other works. In this way, I could successfully develop my business. ### 5. They built, tested and ran the web crawler in a matter of a few days and it was extremely affordable. I was about to outsource this project; which would have taken at least a week, been a lot more expensive, and would have required a lot more hand-holding. **What do you dislike about Dexi?** Output could have been better but I'm guessing they would have fixed any issues but I didn't give them the chance (I needed to use the data right away, so I just worked around any problems). They were very responsive, so I have confidence they would have made the tweaks and re-run the robot had I requested. **Recommendations to others considering Dexi:** Creating the "robot" was as user-friendly as could be expected - it took some research but was designed well. I wound up having them finish the project because I was in a hurry and was impressed by their responsiveness and the final product. **What problems is Dexi solving and how is that benefiting you?** We had a ton of data sitting in a CRM that we couldn't export and the CRM wasn't helping. Someone recommended Dexi and it was exactly what we needed.
