We are a subcontractor that deals with retainage on payables and receivables, AIA forms, lien waivers, etc. Job costs are the bread and butter of what we do. Staying in support has meant that updates and upgrades are included as they come out, and over the decades, ComputerEase has never stopped innovating and adding features. When the Cares Act/PPP and other government programs came out with 941 tax relief during Covid-19, ComputerEase kept up with new and modified reports in a fast-paced, chaotic environment. Our CPA always comments on how easily I can give them data for our audits compared to other customers. Inability to change, edit, rename Employee (like if they get married), Vendor (if they have sub- accounts or multiple), Customer. It would be helpful to be able to rename these fields. 2. Not able to assign multiple subcontracts to one Vendor/Subcontractor 3. Not able to edit an invoice that you previously did not apply either retention or a discount, after the fact,the fields are greyed out & no longer available to edit. 4. Having to go to multiple different locations in order to get all the information necessary to file specific external job related reports . 5. Not able to edit an AR invoice, payments & invoices, when doing multiple credits to offset, makes sales register & AR Reports look very confusing & too much to easily identify correct invoices to payments, etc. 6. Payables-frustrating that when you print a report, it shows the Voucher & Invoice #, yet when you pay invoices, it shows only the voucher #, when you print a check preview, it only shows the invoice#, making it difficult when you have a difference to balance out quickly. The inability to manually apply a discount to only specific invoices within the pay screen. 7. Entering credit card bills/statements or paying a vendor with a credit card and then trying to find history. 8. Entering employee time, there should be a timesaving feature to duplicate prior/previous weeks. 9. Payroll Reports (ie. EFTPS) should be able to edit, to not print unneeded information. 10. Project managers find the product user-friendly along with the accountants. For instance, you no longer need to keep the prevailing wage reports after you print them off. You can go back into the system and reprint them. If you use the wrong general ledger account number in a journal entry, you can adjust it even if it has posted. You can create your own reports in Qtool. Qtool is user-friendly and the reports can be exported to Excel. ComputerEase also allows you to import most items in the system when creating a job budget, inventory, or sites for service, to name a few. **What do you dislike about Deltek ComputerEase?** Not much, except for the time it takes to put in equipment for a preventative service maintenance. Once the import function happens, it will make us more efficient. **What problems is Deltek ComputerEase solving and how is that benefiting you?** ComputerEase does a nice job at incoporating items that the customers need. Multiple INCORRECT answers to software and accounting related questions in reference to the way ComputerEase handles certain transactions. When we ask for documentation, we are told there is none available. When we have followed the support dept. instructions and then had issues, no one is accountable at ComputerEase and we are basically on our own to fix the corresponding issues. I wish this would automate. The response time for submitting a technical support ticket delayed tremendously. It was 7 days after submitting a ticket related to a payroll issue before I received a call back. **Recommendations to others considering Deltek ComputerEase:** Overall I would recommend ComputerEase for any general contractor as well as subcontractors. The job costing is as detailed as you need it to be. Easy to move throughout the program and very user friendly. **What problems is Deltek ComputerEase solving and how is that benefiting you?** Prior to ComputerEase we were using Quickbooks. ComputerEase has allowed for us to have a more comprehensive understanding as to the total costs for each project. ### 38. I am no slouch with software, but I have a hard time peeling back all of the onion layers required to run even basic reports unless someone shows me and even then finding my way back to the location of said report is a chore. I understand the capabilities of the software however in my opinion the user interface is so bad, I cant think of another software that is worse than this that I use on a regular basis. I have asked my boss for training and even he only knows what he has specifically been trained to do on it and basically has given up on fully understanding the software. A major flaw is that the software is so specific to what you are searching, that you have to cast a gigantic net and then manually scroll through pages and pages of data to track down the info you are looking for. I disagree with the organization, execution and lack of support of this software.
