Datarails is a fantastic platform for Finance organizations that are getting too large for Excel, but might not be ready for the more rigorous and structured FP&A platforms. It gives flexibility to the user to connect with multiple data sources. My favorite feature is the Data Mapper tool. The ability to add custom columns to your data and easily connect it with other data sources saved me hours each week. There's not much, as it's a fantastic software. If I had to choose one thing, the AI tool still needs some work. It would offer a formula and say use this, but then it would sometimes give an error when creating a custom column. AI is still a relatively new technology, so I think that is to be expected. The Chart of Accounts mapping was just what we needed for our merger. We were able to map the parent company charts in line with ours and to help streamline our reporting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The connectivity to our sales and reorder metrics were only flat connections. No additional tools helped us with the predictive or forecast elements. Datarails offers a great way to cleanly show concise data that can be drilled down into. I love the drill downs to the lowest level. Once you're set up it's really easy to use. I also love how easy it is to work with Excel. The data in datarails can also be extracted into excel means it is as diverse as you like. It's clearly still a new system, a few of the widgets need work and there are some nuances you come across every so often that shows how young it is in development. However, they have been quick to rectify a lot of these so credit to the team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What I appreciated most about DataRails was the combination of a capable platform and outstanding customer support. The integration between NetSuite and DataRails was seamless, allowing us to establish a reliable data flow with minimal effort. The platform has helped us centralize reporting, maintain version history, and build dashboards that improve visibility into our data.

Equally important was the support we received from Ethan D'Alessandro throughout the implementation process. I joined the project after implementation had already begun, which required me to quickly get up to speed. Ethan consistently demonstrated patience, taking the time to re-explain concepts whenever needed and adapting his approach as our requirements evolved. He was always willing to pivot when new requests arose and focused on building solutions that would continue to work effectively in the future rather than taking shortcuts. While the platform has been very beneficial overall, there are a few areas where I believe the user experience could be improved. Dashboard creation is one of my favorite features, but I would like to see a broader selection of visualization and charting options in the future.

I also found that the process of bridging and connecting data to the tables used for dashboard reporting can be challenging and is not always intuitive. This may be partially due to the complexity of our reporting needs, but there were times when the setup process felt less user-friendly than expected. The platform has a moderate learning curve, and newer users may require some time and guidance before they become fully comfortable navigating and utilizing all of its capabilities. It saves me and the team a lot of time when you can post journals and refresh TBs, Transaction Listings instantly rather than having to run reports manually within the system which is vital around busy times like month end. I wouldn’t say I dislike it; it’s just that DR sometimes has limitations when we’re creating dashboards. In those cases, we have to reach out to them so DR can review what we need and help us build it if the option isn’t available. That back-and-forth can delay the process. I like the seamless use in practice, I was not heavily involved in the integration of the software however I am a heavy user of the software, and it is seamless and faultless, it takes care of everything for you, it's integrated with some of our outdated software and has sped up reporting by 4-5 Days, the software is easy to use and the UI is easy to understand,, and there are resources available to allow for further guidance, I was not involved in the pricing discussion however whatever was paid it has made my work life easier Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like the visuals and graphics of Datarails, which are very quick and provide at-a-glance insights into where we need to focus on our business. The way the information is laid out makes it easy to quickly look at trends and analysis and pinpoint focus areas. It's a lot easier to use these graphs compared to Excel, as it's pretty much a one-time setup once the information is loaded and the dashboards and widgets are created. There are some very specific issues with setting up widgets that make it a bit difficult. For example, the ability to suppress zeros and freeze panes, some very basic formatting things that Datarails isn't handling well at the moment. It's been a bit of a headache, but we've managed to find workarounds. These little idiosyncrasies should ideally be looked at for improvement. It helps to streamline monthly reporting and forecasting and allows us to dig deeper and provide more visibility into the data when needed. I feel that Datarails functionality could use some improvement in the user interface (both excel functionality and dashboards/storyboards). Troubleshooting can be time-consuming and the online support resources available are not very helpful, however, when reaching out to customer support they are always helpful. The quick implementation timeline left insufficient time to learn the system well, making it difficult to troubleshoot and understand the mapping and intricacies at first. I like being able to pull from multiple data sources, integrate with QBO, and keep all my files in one place in the cloud so I can access information anytime.
