Ericsson provided us with fantastic software through NetCloud to have an all-in-one experience on how we manage, configure, and gather data from our device. Ericsson's support was also a major plus in my experience, opening tickets are never fun, however every person I have spoken with was delightful, helpful, and knowledgeable. The platforms also functions beautifully, as well as the cellular routers - it literally just works! Working within budget and ensuring our ROI was worth the journey which was another big factor and positive take from choosing Ericsson's lineup. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Ericsson Enterprise Wireless Solutions? Through my experience with the product, there are no down sides overall to the product or the experience. I would rather approach this from more of areas I feel could be enhanced for a better and deeper experience such as the log sourcing from the built in NetCloud, as well as the archiving ability of these logs. NetCloud used to be another area I felt could have used an overhaul and "modernization" however, I am happy to report this has happened checking a big box off my personal desire list! Before deploying Ericsson Enterprise Wireless Solutions, we were using 900mhz radios and Microwave system for our Critical SCADA communications backhaul network. This system was extremely unreliable as inclement weather conditions could cause outages for us very frequently such as dense fog, rain storms, lightning, or the morning sun shining too bright! We would also have to schedule tower climbers which could result in even a longer delay on getting services restored, and the upkeep cost associated to these large towers. We also had to use a legacy based hub-and-spoke topology with way microwave and radio shots would operate. This led to instances where if a master site would fall, we in return would lose insight to any site that would be placed behind that master. Since deploying a combination of R1900 and E3000 routers from EEWS, we have been able to achieve a 98.9% uptime, save cost on towers and tower climbers, eliminated previous legacy hub-and-spoke topologies, and introduce new and modern approaches on how we gain access into a critical OT environment with resources such as Zero trust architecture & and SD-WAN via Secure Connect SASE services. As a product, Cradlepoint is a robust, well-designed, and well-supported series of devices and services. They make excellent products with varying purposes. They are easy to communicate with, and have a great field and in-house support system. Cradlepoint has a lot of good options, and their product can be used in a wide variety of industries. Sometimes, their strengths are also their weaknesses - in trying to make a product that reaches a wide range of markets and uses, they can also be a little inflexible with their products. Coming from the perspective of a non-traditional Cradlepoint ecosystem user, they would do well to have a wider range of product and service offerings, perhaps even more modular in nature, for some of its more unique customers. They serve as both our router and our connectivity gateway, and are one of the main components of our entire fleet. How easy it can be to make changes and push mass updates. The new cloud interface is full of options. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Ericsson Enterprise Wireless Solutions? There is not buildin backup tool, they do have autosave keep running last good config. But this is not a backup. You can manually save a copy(download) on the management cloud or on the local login in. If you make a change and then want to look back to compare to a older config you have to have made a manual copy already. My solution was to use a script with an api. Why did I have work on the side of this software to add this? The other issue is the EOL of the product, I have modems which are aging, for LTE bands and unit failures, but are still very useful and working okay. But with the EOL of the product will force me to replace 40 units a few years before I need to, as I lose cloud mangment access altogether as well as security updates. Other vendors may drop a product to best effort with limited support. This brings up the cost for support is high after initial support time, Skin there are other products on the market that have longer life spans, they may not be as easy as Creadlepoint, but have Central management and longer horizons of usefulness. I do not have problems, I have Business needs and Cradlepoint helps address them; the need for edge connectivity as long as the WAN is on the public internet. Their Netcloud portal is very easy to navigate and make setting changes. A semi-novice user would not have any issues with getting their equipment properly setup in this interface. There are a number of features in the portal that can help you to fine tune your settings to make the device and service as robust and secure as you need it to be. CradlePoint's tech support is very easy to work with, helpful and extremely knowledgable about their products. Integration into my network as a secondary wifi service backup was not very difficult. The only hing I don't like about the Cradlepoint is that they don't have a built in SIM tray or an adapter to place the SIM card to be placed in the SIM slot.
