I began using Countable after a desk inspection, when it was suggested that I find software to assist with preparing compilations. Before that, I relied on paper checklists and spreadsheets. As a sole practitioner, I wasn’t interested in desktop software, since it seemed more than I needed and more than I wanted to invest in. Countable has made it much easier for me to stay compliant with CPA Saskatchewan, thanks to its direct integration with PACT and PEG checklists. The document repository allows me to keep the entire file in one place, including all source documents and client-signed reports. When it’s time for inspection, I can simply download the complete file and submit it. Countable keeps me organized and has truly streamlined the CSRS 4200 standard for all my compilations.

I also want to commend the Countable team. They have always been extremely supportive whenever I’ve had a problem, a question, or needed additional training. My staff has also been able to reach out to Countable directly and have learned a great deal about the software.

I really appreciate that Countable is online rather than desktop-based. I don’t have to worry about maintaining software or hardware, and it’s always up to date, safe, and secure. It's difficult to find much to criticize about Countable. The only issue I've encountered is that it can sometimes be a bit glitchy. I have found the processing time btn clicks to be a bit slow, but this may be an isolated issue to me. I’m unsure.

I’m still also getting used to the work papers feature - I’m so used to excel/google sheets that I want to have that same working paper functionality inherent in the work papers section. And perhaps it does, but I need to spend more time in Countable to figure that part out.

Lastly, the T2 completion checklist formatting is hard to follow. It would be nice to be able to filter, highlight Qs for follow up, etc. so I can track the status of completion. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Countable allows for the generation of financial statements that comply with the accounting standards of our region and for the completion of corporate tax returns. I love how Countable connects right with QBO. It pulls in the trial balance for me and posting back year end entries is super quick and easy. I also like that they are always updating and adding new features, especially with AI, which keeps making the process faster and smarter.
