## About cord
cord is a hiring tool that enables companies to fill their pipelines with active people, and make direct hires. This is made possible by giving you access to thousands of responsive, pre-qualified engineers that you can message over a simple person-to-person messaging tool. High response rates make sourcing on cord as simple as sending a message. At cord, we are on a mission to increase the number of people doing their best work by enabling the most simple transaction on earth - a conversation - to happen between someone and their future colleagues. Sourcing is as simple as sending a message, highly responsive candidates give you your time back. On average, 44% of messages sent by companies result in an interview. By making hiring feel more like starting a conversation, cord lowers the barriers to entry and enables whole teams to be built that wouldn’t otherwise exist.

## cord Reviews
  ### 1. Great tool for scaling!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** james h. | technical talent lead, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 20, 2023

**What do you like best about cord?**

Cord is brilliant, I used it in my previous role and implemented it in my new position at usergems. 1 of the great things about it is, no agency recruiters have access to it. Another great thing is the great pool of candidates, we hired 4 to our engineering team in 2 months from cord.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

The only fault I can say is the majority of candidates in my streams were from the UK, it would have been nice to have a wider range of candidates around europe.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed to grow our engineering team quickly and cord was the answer. With 4 hires in 2 months, I cannot fault it!

  ### 2. Great platform for hidden tech talent!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tom R. | Talent Acquisition Sourcer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 23, 2023

**What do you like best about cord?**

Cord has fantastic search capabilities and the outreach to candidates is far better than other platforms myself and others in VIOOH have used.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Cord doesn't have a general search capability. Only the ability to search on open jobs. Also would be good to have a salary benchmarking tool for tech hires.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tech hiring has become much easier since using Cord as struggled to always find the best talent via Linkedin.

  ### 3. Save time / Meet more prospects

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Liam B. | Internal Recruiter, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 05, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

* Easy to post jobs / link with jobs on website / saving time on importing job specs
* Meet passive / active candidates
* Able to send a range or messages / interactions with potential candidates
* Both candidate and recruiter feedback excellent on both sides
* Very unique given the current market

**What do you dislike about cord?**

* Sometimes can take a while for jobs to come through / be approved on the site
* Sometimes can end up on a part of the site and not sure how to get back to old page
* Sometimes find it difficult to stop streams / turn off streams

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Finding good / hidden candidates that may not be visible on job boards / linkedin. This is enabling us to access a different area within the market that competitors are maybe not seeing.

  ### 4. Sourcing product and engineering talent has never been easier!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nina A. | TALENT PARTNER, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2023

**What do you like best about cord?**

I love how easy the platform is to navigate. it's very user friendly and thorough for recruiters when making specific searches

**What do you dislike about cord?**

the archived and un-archived button was a little complex to find

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CORD is helping me recruit genuinely interested prospects for product and engineering roles, who can specify from the get go what they're looking for and meet expectations early on.

  ### 5. Great platform for inhouse teams

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Connor C. | Senior TA Partner, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

Cord has a fantastic UI and is very easy to use (great to use the app on the phone too). We have found candidates on the platform that we otherwise would have not come across. Return on investment was made within a short period of time, whilst filling some hard to fill/ niche positions along the way.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Not much to dislike- but they can potentially help with filtering certain things better ie. sponsorship candidates/ remote-only candidates coming up when you have made clear that is not what you are looking for. I have also found recruitment agencies on here looking for leads, so feel like they can do better on cracking down on this too.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CORD is helping fill certain roles for us within a short time period, helping the recruitment team focus energy in other areas and saving the business money overall.

  ### 6. A focused collection of highly relevant job candidates

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John M. | Cyber Security Professor of AppSec, InfoSec, Risk Mgmt, Emerging Threats, Countermeasures, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 11, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

cord is very focused and useful. The candidate pool is chock full of real job seekers who are actively looking and ready to change jobs - no lurkers or window shoppers. The database is easy to search, and the messaging system works great for conversing with candidates. In only three days, I quickly had a dozen candidates to review. Either I messaged candidates I picked, new candidates reached out to me, or cord suggested more candidates for me based on skills matching. For the job seekers: Remember when you were looking for a job on Indeed, and there were 859 candidates in the first 15 minutes? ...and the job was brand new on Indeed, but when visiting the company's website, the job was already five weeks old? Yeah... cord is nothing like that.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

I wouldn't consider this a bad thing, but cord is also not a place for hiring companies to be indecisive or wishy-washy. The candidates on cord are actively looking for work and ready to commit. The same should be true for the hiring companies. The Customer Success Managers at cord check in frequently and make sure the hiring parties are actively recruiting for the positions they are trying to fill.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Whether I'm looking for a job or hiring for a job, the search engine job boards are just massive seas of data. Job seekers and hirers are buried in thousands of jobs and candidates that are barely relevant to the position or skillset. My experience with cord, was the exact opposite. My search results (for hiring) included properly filtered candidates that met all of the criteria on the job description.

  ### 7. Excellent hiring platform for tech in the UK

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Parul° S. | Instructor, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 03, 2023

**What do you like best about cord?**

I really like how user-friendly Cord is to use. I managed to get set up and up and running in no time. I managed to make some excellent frontend engineer hires on Cord. The quality and response rate compared to LinkedIn is second to none.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

There isn't really anything I dislike but it might be useful in the future to be able to do a radius search from a postcode rather than having to select the cities which can make it harder to search for hybrid candidates.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping us hire at pace for niche roles in a highly competitive market

  ### 8. Great platform

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Esme M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2023

**What do you like best about cord?**

Good candidates with profiles that are easy to read and qualify quickly. Also proactive candidates on there with high response rate.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Would like to have projects to save candidates in for the future rather than just one save function for all candidates

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Finding good Tech candidates that aren't responsive on linkedin

  ### 9. Good usability and a decent candidate pool. Remote-only outside London is a limitation.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 23, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

Great messaging UI and functionality. The ability to set up automated follow-up messages makes multiple touch-point campaigns really easy and isn't something other major competitors do.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Remote and London-based roles only, so as a non-London-based company we can only use it for our remote roles, which is frustrating. Cord's Customer success teams could be more engaged. They're responsive when it comes to sorting problems and handling specific requests, but there's not a lot of proactivity in terms of making sure you're getting the best out of the product.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Fundamentally it provides a more engaged and responsive candidate base than other major hiring platforms, and allows us to source in a time-efficient way. This significantly increases the "top-of-the-funnel" part of our pipeline.

  ### 10. Great platform to hire exceptional tech talent

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Felicity A. | Senior Talent Partnership Associate, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 16, 2023

**What do you like best about cord?**

Cord allows me access to active talent with relevant skills across our main three disciplines: Software Engineering, Product and Design. It enables me to close roles within three to four weeks as the talent on the platform is actively looking and can get a good insight into our company's offering before moving forward with a screen call.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

The talent pool is slightly smaller when hiring for more niche roles as fewer people are on Cord.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quick role turnaround

  ### 11. Great Sourcing Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kyle V. | Talent Acquisition Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

Cord allowed us the ability to find quality tech candidates in a short amount of time with minimal investment. I highly recommend using the tool to source candidates for any tech role. If a candidate ghosted us, Cord always gladly gave us back the credit in a timely manner.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

One of the downsides can be active candidates reaching out that may not be the right fit, this conundrum is true for any TA professional posting a role though, it is not a significant dislike just the only one we faced.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cost per hire, for smaller organizations, other tools or sourcing services can be too high, Cord is priced just right to ensure cost per hires are kept low while sourcing the right candidates.

  ### 12. My team and I have been nothing but impressed with Cord.co.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kelly L. | Senior Tech Recruiter, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 31, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

There are a number of aspects that set Cord.co apart from other platforms. Cord is more tailored to all things Tech, and the strength of the engineering candidate pool is high. Plus, the platform enables you to see how engaged the members are, so you don’t have to worry about time spent reaching out to people who may no longer be on the market.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Phone numbers aren't always included in a candidate's profile or resume when they apply. On several occasions, I've started calling a candidate for a previously scheduled phone screen only to realize that I don't have their number, which is embarrassing and usually leads to rescheduling.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cord has nearly tripled our candidate pool and saved us both money on external agency fees and countless hours spent sourcing.

  ### 13. Do you want to save your time? :)

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Magda P. | TA Specialist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

Cord provides information about candidates' expected salary, what job type they are looking for and what are their primary skills, as well as what they are using the most. It is really helpful when it comes to searching and building up a pipeline. The number of search results is perfect.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

In the beginning, it was not so intuitive. However, after a few days, you are easily used to this tool.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One of the most useful things is that Cord is informing me about a new candidate who entered my stream, so I don't have to remember about it myself. Also, I don't have to think about a new Boolean Search to find more candidates, because - as I mentioned - Cord is reminding me about this.

Also, candidates that are on Cord, are actively looking for a professional change, thus they are more eager to have a conversation. They even reach out to you first, so it is the complete opposite of other tools (that you have to contact dozens of candidates to receive a reply). It really makes the recruitment process faster.

  ### 14. Great hiring outcomes in very little time and much affordable vs recruiter fees!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ludovic F. | Head of Operations, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 07, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

- Create as many job posts as you like
- Variety and quality of set of pools of candidates
- It's all about tech
- Fixed fee per month
- Can opt in opt out as you wish

**What do you dislike about cord?**

- Limited messages to people
- Many notifications can be disruptive
- Might miss candidates if they don't select correct keywords
- It's hard to know whether a candidate in stream is new or coming back.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Giving a pool of real active candidates looking for a new role.
- Easy instant messaging with match making conversations.
- Open and honest conversations
- Cheaper fees overall than direct recruiters.

  ### 15. Amazing User Experience - both as a recruiter and as a candidate

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel L. | Staff Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

User experience is top-notch. When you think of recruitment software, user experience is typically at the back of their priorities. But Cord has really designed a simple, intuitive UX.

I also love that the platform is based around messaging - not submit your CV and wait 2 weeks for a response email. Cord feels more personal, more human.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Cord is still relatively new, so, as a recruiter, I would love for there to be more candidates in the pool.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cord provides a steady stream of candidates. Most candidates respond quickly so you get instant feedback. Cord lets you have multiple messaging templates so you can do some A/B testing to see which approaches have the best success rates.

  ### 16. The Tinder for Recruiters and active job-seekers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lilly J. | Talent Acquisition Recruiter, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 07, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

The fact that it shows their right to work eligibility, their salary expectations, their willingness to work on-site or hybrid, and the fact that they actually respond to our messages!

**What do you dislike about cord?**

I want or hiring managers to be able to do some sourcing, if they wish to, without sharing my log-in details with them. Allow us to set them up as users and narrow the field of what they can see.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Engineer candidates rarely respond to reach-outs on Linkedin - but I have not faced this issue, as much, since I have been using Cord.

  ### 17. HR Professional

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Laura P. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 06, 2023

**What do you like best about cord?**

Easy to use.
Simple and light product.
Always a steady candidate flow.
You can stop subscription and restart when needed.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Wish you could search candidates easier.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps matches profiles and jobs accurately by skill set, location and compensation.

  ### 18. Effective hiring tool for small organisations

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ieuan S. | Senior Engineering Manager

**Reviewed Date:** September 16, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

Being able to review potential candidates and contact them directly was a great experience as a Hiring Manager - it allowed me to really fine-tune what I was looking for in our team.

The diversity filtering tools were also really useful!

**What do you dislike about cord?**

The staleness of data - candidate availability wasn't updated (a hard problem to solve!). The vast majority of candidates I liked were already in new roles by the time I created my search.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can see Cord being really effective for small companies that don't have a dedicated Recruitment team - it made sourcing candidates a lot easier for me as a hiring manager.

That said, we now have our own recruitment team, so there's less benefit from me sourcing candidates myself.

  ### 19. Staple in our recruiting arsenal

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Asheraf A. | Talent Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

The ROI to date on our monthly subscription

**What do you dislike about cord?**

The UI/UX is generally pretty good but at times it can be a bit frustrating to find what you're looking for.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

No Tech job boards are currently working for us except Cord.

  ### 20. Efficient and effective Self-serve Recruitment tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David M. | Talent Acquisition Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

Simple UX, Easy to set up, Good engagement from users. Great support functionality.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

May not be the cheapest self-serve recruitment tool out there. With that said, I've found the quality of candidates to be strong.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Recruiting for technical roles, putting you in touch with candidates directly, bypassing expensive recruitment agency fees, and giving good benchmarks on candidate volumes and salaries.

  ### 21. Easy like a mobile app.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Konrad W. | Talent Acquisition Specialist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 07, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

How fast and easily I can find and engage with top talent on a market. Great thing is that it works both ways- candidates are also approaching companies in a more human way than typical job advert.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

In the beginning, the interface is not that intuitive. It takes some time to use Cord swiftly. However, Cord provides a tutorial which makes it easier. Despite this I would appreciate the feature of easily sharing candidates' profiles with my colleagues.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Thanks to Cord is it way easier to fill in candidates' pipeline. Cord's streams are full of candidates who are easy to approach and engage with. Simply speaking, it is a great recruitment tool.

  ### 22. Easy to use platform with high response rate from candidates

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maisa M. | Tech Talent Partner, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 25, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

cord has great usability that makes sourcing and messaging faster and easier. It's also very easy to identify people that are actively looking for work. It seems to me that cord is made for recruiters at the same time is appreciated by engineers because with cord, we (recruiters), can also be more assertive when reaching out to people.
Also, I like the tips they give you while writing approach messages and the detailed info about how engaged a person is.
The best sourcing platform I tried until now. :)

**What do you dislike about cord?**

I don't dislike anything. Just a note to keep up the good work on building a platform that is made for both, recruiters and tech professionals.
Also, there is something very specific that I noticed recently: As they give you some ready-to-use title options when building a stream, it's hard when you have a very specific title. You need to use the boolean search and it seemed to me that it's not so precise.
Last thing: It would be amazing if we could have insights on why people are declining for our positions.

**Recommendations to others considering cord:**

Just buy it. :)

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Source faster.
High response rate.
Less time wasted with not engaged people (you also don't bother those who are not looking for a job or those who are not responsive).
Beautiful design that makes it pleasant to use.

  ### 23. A great experience from both candidate and interviewer

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carlos A. | Senior Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 12, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

Cord was an excellent service both when used for recruiting or for a new role. The way it links interviewers and candidates directly allows for much faster conversations and meaningful connections being established sooner.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

The ease with which connections can be made could also be detrimental. It becomes incumbent upon the users to manage their contacts and make sure that the other party is kept up-to-date.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helped me find my current role with which I've been very pleased, as well as to grow the company with the best people for our job opennings. This has reduced the time taken for filling roles.

  ### 24. Great source for Tech Recruitment

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Oleh S. | Talent Acquisition Specialist - EMEA, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

- Candidates come to you
- UI design is intuitive and easy to use
- Candidate's salary expectations are displayed on their profile
- Cost effective
- Tech Focused

**What do you dislike about cord?**

- Email notifications from cord can be excessive, however manageable
- There's no button to un-hide a candidate if you have hidden them from your current search

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cord is focusing on the tech side of recruitment as well as salary expectation transparency which can save a lot of time for both the recruiter and the candidate.

  ### 25. Great platform for quickly finding engineers and data scientists looking for their next roles

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeffrey N. | AI, Entrepreneurship, Startup Speaker and Panelist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 07, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

The platform has a good selection of engineers, sends updates on new candidates that fit our role profiles and enables quick communication to gauge interest and schedule a chat.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

It would be great if the platform integrated with our calendars to help schedule calls.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cord has a platform that connects tech talent with companies looking to hire. We spoke to many interesting candidates and hired a few.

  ### 26. Amazing Recruitment Tool!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tabitha H. | Talent Acquisition Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 08, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

Cord is intuitive and user-friendly. It's sleek and performative and we love using it. Thank you for bringing us an amazing tool to hire great talent!

**What do you dislike about cord?**

At first I was a little frustrated at the amount of notifications I received via email. As soon as I turned this function off I was happy!

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's allowing us to hire more talent across the UK which is fantastic.

  ### 27. Intuitive & very easy to use, Cord is an excellent recruitment tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 19, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

Once you have set up the role you are looking for, you immediately have access to intuitive search functions to find talent. It's an excellent candidate experience and introduction to your company.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

I genuinely hope Cord decides to broaden into other areas of the market. Being able to use Cord to find sales, finance, and analytics people would be fantastic!

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using Cord solves the problem of multiple avenues of finding talent. I don't have to have multiple job board subscriptions or send hundreds of messages on Linked In.

  ### 28. Great platform to find great talent

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verona H. | Employer branding & Talent coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 15, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

Really user friendly, makes hiring easy and enjoyable

Love the messaging feature as you're able to create a more personable relationship with candidates

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Nothing. I really enjoy using the platform!

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Its helping us filll hard to fill roles and also making us a lot more efficient too which is great!

  ### 29. Such a time saver!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Melissa N. | Sr. Operations Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

I am a 1 person recruiting team with very limited tools. Cord is one of them and has been SO valuable. It is easy to use, there is an excellent candidate pool and it integrates perfectly with my ATS.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

I have no complaints. Everything with it has been excellent so far.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is tough to find quality candidates without spending hours sourcing. Cord makes it easy to find people that are perfect matches quickly.

  ### 30. I am so glad that we have found a platform where D&A people hang out and look for new opportunities

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Finy J. | Talent Acquisition partner, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 07, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

Love using cord - really value the diversity search function and the reminders when candidates enter your stream. It is easy to use.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

There is nothing missing for us from this product.

**Recommendations to others considering cord:**

Cord is a great platform where Data and Analytics people are hanging out actively looking for a new role which makes the recruitment process easy and quick. Cord is super easy to use and I would highly recommend to anyone. We have just done our cord hire and looking forward to more!

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Identifying data talent that is currently looking for new opportunities - enhancing our recruitment process in this space

  ### 31. Very intuitive UI & relevant candidates in the streams

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ka Ki Maggie Y. | Team Assistant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 21, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

The design of the tool and how intuitive it is.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Sometimes the filtered streams do not load/ have issues logging in.
The "save candidate" function also is not working if you go into the candidate's profile.

**Recommendations to others considering cord:**

I have worked with different recruitment agencies or more traditional ways but Cord is definitely worth a try given it is not expensive and within a month of using, we have already some quality candidates.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We as a mobile game company have the challenge to find candidates who are not only good developers but understand games as well.

  ### 32. Great Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sam B. | Delivery Consultant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

Cord is great because all of the candidates on there are actively looking - this means that every interaction is meaningful and full of potential.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Sometimes the jobs can take a little while to load, but never too long or long enough to be detremental to your search

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cord is enabling me to ensure that more of my time is being used productively - I am engaging with those actively looking and interested, and less time spent approaching those not on the market or interested.

  ### 33. Direct Access to Tech Candidates for Straightforward Hires

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 12, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

the interface is very simple and generally easy to use, and bypassing agencies for direct comms with good candidates via a dedicated space.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

There are a lot less available profiles available for niche roles. Some of the functionality isn't user friendly, such as having to click past loads of previous saved searches to get to your most current one - this would be far quicker as a drop-down list for you to choose from.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have massively reduced external agency costs by getting direct access to technical candidates. This has sped up our hiring process and allowed us greater control, all without huge fees. You'll find a good number of good candidates that are not on regular job boards.

  ### 34. Targeted to what you need

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David P. | Talent Acquisition Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 07, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

The profiles are concise and you can quickly assess suitability of the candidates for the roles that need filled

**What do you dislike about cord?**

It would be helpful to understand any visa requirements as this is not always clear

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps to identify developers with specific skills and allows for targeted messaging

  ### 35. Diverse and endless options

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** aylin a. | recruiter, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 12, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

I find Cord very useful because it opens many options around different technologies. I was amazed by the amount of nationalities and interesting profiles I met!

**What do you dislike about cord?**

I wish we didn't need to create the roles ut they get updates automatically

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

diverse remote candidates

  ### 36. Effective place to meet candidates

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ken A. | VP of Engineering, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

Cord is easy to use and has a lot of features that make connections between companies and candidates more engaging, like the initial filtering capability, chat, notifications, etc...

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Nothing, really. There are a few small bugs that I'm certain will be fixed if they aren't already.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Simply put: hiring. Finding talent in 2022 is very challenging and on the surface your choices are either spending lots of time recruiting or lots of money paying someone to do it for you. And then there's Cord, which is affordable and a time-efficient.

  ### 37. Simple, vetted streams of qualified candidates and easy messaging.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matt B. | CTO

**Reviewed Date:** August 16, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

Verified engineering candidates presented in an information-dense way without the ridiculous costs of competing platforms. Cord seems to hit that sweet spot between vetting and value.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Rules around number of candidates sourced are a little strict, although the team does try to help ensure success. The salary information from the candidates could be better.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Recruiting through LinkedIn has too much noise, recruiting through something like AngelList Curated or through headhunters is too expensive. Cord helps filter out the noise without being too much more expensive than something like LinkedIn Premium.

  ### 38. Cord is a Game Changer for Sourcing hard to find talent

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 20, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

The quality of candidates are amazing, most of them have the skill sets they say they have.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

I would say the price is the least attractive part, it's very expensive.
Also, there is no free trial, so I was quite hesitant to give it a try but was definitely happy once I signed up.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

hiring devs

  ### 39. A great tool for automatic some of the recruitment process

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alistair B. | Talent acquisition specialist

**Reviewed Date:** June 08, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

I like the efficient interface which allows me to quickly go through the suggested profiles that cord recommends. While the profiles are not always progressed, I am regularly impressed with the caliber of candidate that is put forwards with several of them making it to our interview rounds

**What do you dislike about cord?**

The email notifications can be excessive. I know I can change the mail notifications, but it would be beneficial to have a pause role button or toggle that would allow emails to be paused when the role is not live.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It suggests candidates that are not available on regular job boards and is able to align them with the expectations of the business through their own pre-determined requirements making initial contact much easier.

  ### 40. New to Cord

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 21, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

Easy to get set up. The platform is easy to use and posting jobs is pretty straightforward.
Customer service are quick to get back if you have any issues.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Candidates dont always respond. Get contacted a lot from candidates based abroad. Have to keep responding to all candidates or your response rating falls.
Would like a lot more options to filter candidates

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using Cord helps with an extra bit of exposure to finding new candidates. It also helps with brand awareness and it highlights all the jobs we are currently recruiting for

  ### 41. Great tool for tech hiring

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Annie J. | Head of Talent, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 12, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

Some good engineering talent on the platform, it's easy to use

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Engineering talent does seem to be stronger than design/product talent on the platform - we've not made any non-tech hires through Cord, just Engineering

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It gives us access to active candidates on the market - we have pretty tough coding languages to hire for (Ruby & React Native) so any help we can get goes a long way.

  ### 42. Best place for hiring stellar engineers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rami K. | Co-founder & CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

It's just so easy to use from a UX perspective.
The quality of the talent is exceptional.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Not much really - we made most of our hires here

**Recommendations to others considering cord:**

Get started with it as it's just so easy to use and get value out of without big commitments - it's just a monthly subscription that you can scale up or down as and when needed.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Finding great engineering talent

  ### 43. Instant Access To Engineers Actively Looking For Work

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarah M. | Recruiter, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

Cord is a very user-friendly platform with clear and straightforward functionality. Cord gives you instant access to engineers who are actively looking for work, engineers are engaged on the platform and respond within a matter of hours to a couple of days even if they are not interested in the position. I like how easy it is to build your search stream using relevant keywords and skills, so that you are only looking at and messaging relevant candidates who are relevant to your roles. I like how the search stream is instantly updated with newly active candidates daily and how quickly you can filter through candidates daily once you have set things up. I also like how responsive the cord team are to questions, queries and suggestions, they are always keeping users informed with what they are working on, very transparent and take the time to ensure you are getting the most out of your investment in the platform with tailored monthly analytics and suggestions.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Cord is still growing so I can only see it getting better and better and the team adding new features as time goes on, I think the platform could benefit from adding some additional elements such as the ability to search by name, a reverse button in case you accidentally hide the wrong person, and templates recogisning when someone has already replied to your message to cancel the scheduled follow-up message, but these are all minor things which I know the team will have already thought about for the future.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cord is increasing the pool of candidates we have available to speak to over other recruitment platforms we use, even when looking for some very niche skillsets. It's been really helpful getting instant replies, even if someone is not interested in your position they let you know rather than leaving you hanging so you can understand where and why you may be struggling. We have been able to make hires a lot quicker and the calibre of candidates has been a lot stronger using cord.

Finding great engineers, marketers and designers - has helped our growth materially

**Official Response from Chloe Warner-Harris:**

  ### 45. A very cost effective recruitment tool and access to good candidates

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Richard D. | Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 07, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

As a start up we can't afford traditional recruitment consultant fees. Cord is a very cost effective tool with 000's of actively looking (and relevant) canddiates.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

I don't like the fact that when you post a job vacancy, you instantly receive dozens of recruiters emailing and LinkedIn messaging you to pitch their candidates. Either Cord is selling this info or it's been infiltrated by recruiters posing as candidates.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Great candidates at affordable recruitment prices.

  ### 46. Great for engaging with Software Engineers

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

You are limited on the job titles and skills, so some positions are quite difficult to source candidates using cord.
