## About cord
cord is a hiring tool that enables companies to fill their pipelines with active people, and make direct hires. This is made possible by giving you access to thousands of responsive, pre-qualified engineers that you can message over a simple person-to-person messaging tool. High response rates make sourcing on cord as simple as sending a message. At cord, we are on a mission to increase the number of people doing their best work by enabling the most simple transaction on earth - a conversation - to happen between someone and their future colleagues. Sourcing is as simple as sending a message, highly responsive candidates give you your time back. On average, 44% of messages sent by companies result in an interview. By making hiring feel more like starting a conversation, cord lowers the barriers to entry and enables whole teams to be built that wouldn’t otherwise exist.

## cord Reviews
 ### 1. Cord Is a Great Platform for Supporting Hiring

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Katerina S. | HR&Recruitment Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 22, 2026

**What do you like best about cord?**

I find Cord to be a great tool and platform to support hiring.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Nothing really! Sometimes I feel stressed when I see my response rate dropping, but on the other hand, it works as a great motivator

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have access to a quality candidate pool, and it’s great the platform is built to connect hiring managers and candidates - it makes you feel very supported, the workflow works great as well and it really helps me focus on connecting with the right people

 ### 2. Super Flexible, High-Quality Candidates

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rachel G. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 13, 2026

**What do you like best about cord?**

Super flexible and good quality candidates

**What do you dislike about cord?**

I think it’s constantly improving with new features so nothing to add really.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Finding great candidates

 ### 3. Hires made through Cord are easy and efficient!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amelia G. | People & Talent Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 03, 2024

**What do you like best about cord?**

Cord is very easy to use, especially for beginners. What is great about it is that it can be easily implimented and integrated with our ATS Team Tailor, so the applicants that apply through our Cord advert are added to TT once we accept a candidate's interest.
We use Cord to celebrate our diversity of our candidates through their seasonal awards and this has been great for employer branding.
While we use Cord primarily for our Tech roles, we have also used it for Finance and other related fields. We have hired candidates through Cord which goes to show it's success rate.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

The only downside I can see to Cord is that we cannot advertise for FTC/temporary roles. However, for our permanent roles we of course do not have this issue.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cord helps us keep recruitment in-house and allows us to search for a variety of candiates that we might have not of otherwise found.

 ### 4. Efficient, Cost-Effective, and User-Friendly Hiring Platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nic H. | Head of Engineering, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2024

**What do you like best about cord?**

What I like most about Cord is how easy it makes the hiring process. It's clear, concise, and has saved us a significant amount of money compared to traditional recruitment costs. The platform is excellent at helping us sift through candidates efficiently, and the support team has been great throughout the process.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

I haven't yet found anything that I dislike

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cord is solving the challenge of finding and hiring top talent without the need for expensive recruitment agencies.

 ### 5. A great platform for transparent processes

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Connor W. | Owner & Lead Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 02, 2024

**What do you like best about cord?**

I've brought Cord into a couple of companies now, working with them in their early days and now as they seem to have really hit their stride.

From a Software Dev hiring perspective I can think of no other platform that offers as big of an ROI as Cord does. It's also great to see them expanding into other verticals.

- Cord is very user friendly and is quick to implement
- A lot of integrations available
- Streamlines your workflow, allowing you to spend an hour a day on it, each day. Whilst getting the same value as you'd get from spending most of your day on other platforms.
- Great communication between the candidates and your team.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

If I had to mark Cord down at all it would be for a couple of restrictions in the way Job Adverts are handled, etc.

The other comment I would make, is if you're a company that will be focusing on IT Support roles, and you only have the budget for one avenue. Cord may not be the best bet right now. They're clearly in the early stages of expanding this area, and we see some real promise. However the candidate pool isn't large right now, and the quality for IT Support has a lot of peaks and dips.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We've brought Cord on as the initial building block of an internal recruitment function for a small, but rapidly growing MSP.

The speed of responding to candidates is the main attraction here, as Cord won't take valuable time and resources away from other internal projects.

 ### 6. Efficient and cost-effective recruitment tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jo H. | Head of People & Talent, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 09, 2024

**What do you like best about cord?**

It's easy to navigate, you have direct contact with candidates making for a very transparent process, and the filters/streams make time to hire so much quicker.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

It's not a dislike I think it just needs adjusting - I don't find the % compatability of candidates and roles particularly accurate, but this could be based on information entered into Cord.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Significantly reducing cost and time to hire

 ### 7. Very helpful sourcing tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Owen F. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 20, 2024

**What do you like best about cord?**

Cord is pretty cool! I love the customisable streams that notify you as soon as a candidate matching your requirements becomes "active".
You can keep the search strings as broad or as niche as you like.

Overall the tool is very easy to use and you can cut through the noise an get access to amazing tech talent fast.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Sometimes the product is a bit glitchy, especially the inbox but generally, it's good.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There is a lot of noise on LinkedIn and other such sites, Cord cuts through this helping you access really good talent quickly.

 ### 8. Useful and quick tool for hires

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sophie S. | Principal Consultant, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2024

**What do you like best about cord?**

Cord allows me to access a pool of active and passive candidates showing you all key information needed to find the correct hire. It is user friendly and easy to train up new members of the team.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

I have recently found there are more contractors on Cord that aren't looking for permenany recuitment.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Time to hire is quicker due to the easy access to a wide pool of candidates.

 ### 9. Cord is an excellent tool to source great technical talent

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sam M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 16, 2024

**What do you like best about cord?**

The user experience is great, not much to learn or know how to use it just works plus the candidates are always very good

**What do you dislike about cord?**

I prefer to use the sourcing tool as you can really focus on your search

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hiring technical talent

 ### 10. Seamless

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2024

**What do you like best about cord?**

Ease of reaching out to people, response time of candidates and love how people can also reach out for information - so it works both ways!

**What do you dislike about cord?**

The only thing that I find tedious is the AI responses that cord generates. Often it takes a while to generate, then sometimes the information is not correct in the response that it has created.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ease of usage and efficiency saves me a lot of time. People respond quicker than they do on other platforms such as LinkedIn, meaning that my time to source/interview/ hire is quicker.

 ### 11. An excellent product for tech hiring

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sam M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 13, 2023

**What do you like best about cord?**

There are a lot of things but the headline aspect is Cord helped us hire great talent at quick pace with a seemless process. The platform is easy to use and you are speaking to people who are looking for jobs so it takes out that challenge. The customer support team is also excellent

**What do you dislike about cord?**

It's hard to name any, you pay a good price and get a great service from the product so a 10/10 for me

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping to hire people that are not always on LinkedIn or applying for jobs on traditional job boards

 ### 12. Access to talent pool

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2024

**What do you like best about cord?**

I love that you have access to a bigger pool of talent. Rather than reaching out to talents, talent can reach out and express their interest in a role.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Seems a lot of profiles are on the software engineering side, with little profiles in the other IT aspects.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solving the problem of access to talents

 ### 13. One of the best hiring platforms out there

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ben D. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 21, 2023

**What do you like best about cord?**

- The ability to reach (and be reached by) highly engaged and relevant candidates across a wide spectrum of areas.
- An excellent sourcing tool with a high degree of customisation.
- Employer branding features
- Reasonable pricing
- Great CS and AM teams

**What do you dislike about cord?**

- You won't get the kind of volume of applications that some other hiring platforms can provide, but on Cord the focus is on quality and relevance to the role you're looking to fill. The team are working on this and recently opened the platform up to non-technical roles to provide even more value to companies.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Hiring the best fit candidates, doing it quickly and cheaply. We have made a number of great quality hires through Cord who otherwise we might never have come across.

 ### 14. Cord helped me replace a key team member quicker than I had ever managed before

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paul S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 19, 2023

**What do you like best about cord?**

- The messaging UX makes it simple to communicate, arrange interviews and meet great candidates quickly
- We have little need for other systems as everything can be managed in Cord
- The bias filters (blanking pictures and names) helps us take a more consciously unbiased view of the market
- We have lots of active and relevant candidates applying soon after posting an ad
- The job ad format allows us to express our role and organisation in an inclusive way using a language and format that we've adapted over years

**What do you dislike about cord?**

- We sometimes have to hire on a 2-year fixed-term basis because of the way we are funded as a non-profit but Cord doesn't allow these roles as they are classified as contract roles
- As it is frictionless to organise an initial screening interview, this is often helpful, but the downside is that we've had numerous candidates simply not turn up and then not reply. The system should have some sort of disincentive for candidates to help prevent this

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quickly replacing team members or expanding our team. I was able to find a replacement Product Manager before our previous Product Manager had left the organisation. This took two intensive weeks of interviews but the slick communication, ease of organising interviews, and built-in calendar functionality made that much easier. As all candidates were worth talking and active there was little waste in contacting people already looking elsewhere, and few candidates that were not relevant.

 ### 15. Excellent experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ash P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 19, 2023

**What do you like best about cord?**

Cord is a great tool for recruiting. The quality of the applicants on the platform is excellent, the platform is intuitive and easy to use and so customisable to your specific requirements. The onboarding process is thorough and so helpful. The team walked me through all the features and checked in to make sure I was happy. I found multiple applicants for my job spec within a week

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Nothing, everything was exactly what I needed and I have 0 complaints!

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was having issues finding quality applicants. My Linkedin posts were flooded with unqualified applicants and it was taking too long to go through them all. I find most traditional recruiters too aggressive and expensive. Cord made the job search easy for me as I could message users that had the skills I needed as well as users being able to message me. It streamlined the process and I needed to only spend 15 mins a day using it.

 ### 16. Great help in helping us find Elixir Developers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tayla S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 16, 2024

**What do you like best about cord?**

Super easy to use and far better quality than using LinkedIn and other recruitment platforms.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Would be great to have a section where you can also recruit contractors.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is helping us to find good quality software engineers.

 ### 17. Love the platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arran C. | Senior Talent Acquisition Partner (Tech) , Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 05, 2024

**What do you like best about cord?**

Really efficient and effective source of talent. My conversion ratios are roughly 7:1, which is far more efficient than some of the more expensive platforms out there. Really great interface, easily usable and great competitor insights.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

The AI feature can be quite slow. I find searches can be limited, it would be great to have some more search filters, and to be able to be a bit more targeted despite the boolean function,.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cord has helped me find great candidates, quickly and in an engaging and clear format.

 ### 18. Excellent platform for specialist hiring

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 06, 2024

**What do you like best about cord?**

Cord streams are a brilliant tool for sifting candidates, making the hiring process slightly easier in the long run. Support from Cord has been great, quick and efficient.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Location side of things can be a bit tricky but good to know they are developing this and listening to feedback.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easily access brilliant talent in Engineering field

 ### 19. Positive experience - would use if scaling quickly.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kristian B. | Recruitment Lead, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 05, 2024

**What do you like best about cord?**

- Ability to showcase your company and connect with candidates actively looking
- Emphasis on candidate experience and communication between candidates and employers
- Ease of use of the platform, really easily to navigate around
- Generally the quality of the candidates on the platform

**What do you dislike about cord?**

- Not a lot. The timing was not quite right for us and what we were looking to hire, but overall there are good quality candidates there if you're looking to scale quickly.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Hiring Full Stack Engineer

 ### 20. Efficient Candidate Management & Workflow

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Human Resources | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 12, 2024

**What do you like best about cord?**

I like the ease of handling large quantities of applicants which makes my life much easier. The platform is very intuitive and easy to navigate so I didn't have to spend a lot of time "training". Customer support has been amazing and every time I've attended a research session my feedback was valued and actually implemented which was amazing.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Having to undo a decline to continue messaging them is sometimes a bit disruptive to my workflow. I'd like to give feedback to rejected candidates after having rejected them without having to "undo" it.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cord is really helpful in navigating the tech recruiting scene and the overwhelming amount of applications that sometimes come our way.

 ### 21. A really great platform for direct hiring tech talent

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rob C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 22, 2023

**What do you like best about cord?**

Cord is a really great platform which has helped our business secure numerous new hires in the tech space. Its functionality is excellent and I particularly like its clean design and ease of use.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

I dislike the fact that it is not currently possible to search for candidates based on their distance from a particular postcode. I also dislike the fact that I cannot restrict candidates without the right to work in the UK from applying (we frequently get applications from candidates seeking sponsorship which is something we are not able to do).

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cord is helping us directly engage with relevant candidates for our job vacancies.

**Official Response from Chloe Warner-Harris:**

> Thank you for your feedback. We’re pleased to say that we have recently launched an “Application Block” feature that enables companies to control who can apply based on the candidate’s visa status and location.

 ### 22. Used Cord to assist with Data science and the process of viewing applications was great.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Charlie M. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2024

**What do you like best about cord?**

The interface was great - easy to speak with candidates and review profiles

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Problems on occasion with Job adverts - they wouldnt link

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Candidate pipeline for Tech roles

 ### 23. Great product for Tech hiring!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Samuel W. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 23, 2023

**What do you like best about cord?**

I like the fact candidates come to you with a genuine interest in the advert/roles they have seen.

The messaging makes it easy to correspond with canddiates and you can see all there expectations easily, in one place.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

No functionoality to turn off applications from certain areas that (sadly) we cannot hire from.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Finding top talent for my clients - in digital, mainly Design and Tech.

 ### 24. A good platform for software engineers

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Leisure, Travel & Tourism | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 06, 2024

**What do you like best about cord?**

There is a broad pool of talent, that is responsive and actively looking.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Competition is, unsurprisingly, very high - candidates don't stay on there for very long.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Software engineering hiring.

 ### 25. Great for Tech & Product hiring

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chloe K. | Senior Talent Partner (Contract), Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 13, 2023

**What do you like best about cord?**

Meaningful interactions with candidates and there is a good mix of candidates from diverse backgrounds

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Unable to advertise contract roles and not great for non tech roles

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Good quality candidates in small amounts, not having to bulk review 100s of CV's and having better quality profiles

 ### 26. Great sourcing platform for tech talent

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vinny M. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2023

**What do you like best about cord?**

It has made sourcing great talent so much easier in my role, with both inbound applications and outbound sourcing.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

If you don't manage the positions and your time effectively you can find yourself overwhelmed with applications.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sourcing automation.

 ### 27. Great platform with diversity focus

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aylin A. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2024

**What do you like best about cord?**

The diversity side of Cord is gold and there are no other platform who is able to offer that.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Too many profiles come up that are not really upto my search

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

diversity, industry preference search criteria, response rate is higher

 ### 28. How do they find engineers? Cord has scaled our team quicker than any other product!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Niall C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 07, 2023

**What do you like best about cord?**

We use other platforms such as LinkedIn, job boards and our networks but cord is definitely	our highest response rate, as typically we would get a response in the same day as reaching out to them. Even better is the candidates can see your company profile on Cord and if they like what they see, they can approach you directly, that already is powerful as they show a genuine interest in your company and product.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

You can search by underrepresented area’s such as females, especially in engineering this is great.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are on that scale up phase post our Series A investment round and have made 14 hires in 6 months with two offers made last week if successful that would be 16 hires in 6 months saving us here at Reg Genome between £150-200k vs traditional recruitment fees. The site is simple and you can track responses, pipelines and automate candidate selection process.

 ### 29. well thought out systems and decent talent pool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ben F. | Sourcing Specialist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 02, 2024

**What do you like best about cord?**

well thought out systems and decent talent pool

**What do you dislike about cord?**

seems to be more South UK focused and could do with more northern based talent

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

its easy to see if a candedate is likely to pass Security clearance checks

 ### 30. Great hiring experience for employer and candidates alike

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexandra G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 02, 2023

**What do you like best about cord?**

- Good search filters
- Easy to set up and get going
- Easy to contact candidates and to manage the inbox (archive function very useful, pre-made templates, etc.)
- Hired 4 people in 6 months using cord - highly recommend!

**What do you dislike about cord?**

- Like any recruiting platform you need to put in the time, the best candidates are the ones that you find and reach out to and not the ones that reach out to you
- It would be good to have different messaging threads for different roles as if you are recruiting for several roles at once the inbox can get pretty wild
- The messaging system is quite limited and you cannot add attachments, when we sent technical assessments, we used email but then the comms continued on cord so it was difficult to manage
- Overall cord tries to be a messaging tool and an ATS in the same time and it's quite poor at the latter - in the same time they recommend keeping all comms through cord, hence if they also had an in-built ATS it would be much stronger

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hiring product and engineering roles - makes things faster and allows me to pick the candidates I want. From experience outbound recruiting is always better than inbound and cord is really good at that.

 ### 31. High quality candidates, quick hires!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** mert a. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 11, 2023

**What do you like best about cord?**

- Easy to you interface including many messaging templates and automations
- Active candidates are super responsive and are genuinely interested
- Good spread of diverse candidates
- Interview scheduler
- Salary benchmarking tool

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Not all ATS's can be integrated which can make it time consuming when actively hiring.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hiring good quality tech candidates in a competitive space.

 ### 32. Great value and easy to use recruiting tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vicky W. | Customer Experience & Operations Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2023

**What do you like best about cord?**

It is really good value in comparison to job boards and agencies, and is very intuitive to use - it is easy! The onboarding was also very thorough.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

No particular dislikes, just a couple of functions I didn't realise it had (like Diversity), so would be good to add that to the training.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allowing us to recruit quality candidates who are actively lookign for work, but who may not have seen (and applied) if we advertised our job openings.

 ### 33. The best solution for startups

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adam N. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 10, 2023

**What do you like best about cord?**

As a startup/scaleup business, we do not have endless funds to throw at annual subscriptions that we may or may not use. A monthly cost works fantastically for the immediate need and no more, so there's no waste.

The UI/UX is brilliant and intuitive (I am notoriously non-techy so if I can find it easy, anyone can!), allowing maximum outreach for minimum effort.

Finally - and most importantly -the calibre and diversity of candidates (and their responsiveness) is exceptional.

As a two-sided marketplace Cord has nailed it. Candidates are obviously getting plenty of contact from companies as they are regularly active and therefore as a business we were getting timely replies from an excellent quantity of candidates we;d reached out to.

I am passionate about tech diversity, particularly from a gender perspective in a male-dominated category like tech and Cord single-handedly ensured that we had female representation in final interview for each of the three roles we were recruiting for.

If you are reading this, trust me when I say that I met with people from lots of different potential solutions, from agencies, communities and job boards and I don't for a second regret choosing Cord. It was everything it was promised to be and I will not hesitate to contact them again when we next have resourcing needs.

Feel free to reach out to me on LinkedIn if you'd like to verify anything in this review.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

It isn't a dislike at all, but an important highlight:

Cord fills your top of funnel brilliantly but be aware that you need to then have designated resources to handle that. Both administratively and from the recruiting perspective (eg screening, understanding risk, candidate motivations etc...

I pretty much dedicated the entire month we had with Cord to do this alongside a colleague who was managing our in-house ATS and it worked perfectly, but without the commitment to supplementary resources you risk wasting the money you have spent.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Primarily diversity, particularly gender as a focus given how disproportionate the tech market is. I was determined to ensure a diverse pool of applicants for each role. Of course the best candidate gets the job, but if your final interview shortlist is not supported to be diverse, you can (by definition) guarantee that the placement will not be.

I contacted Cord to help solve this, and they delivered. Furthermore, the overall calibre was outstanding of all candidates, regardless of their profile and so the top line figures, (bear in mind that all candidates had to get through two stages before getting here) are as follows:

Role 1 - 3 out of 4 candidates from Cord, 3 male, 1 female (sourced from Cord). Role offered.

Role 2 - All 5 candidates from Cord, 2 male, 3 female. Role offered

Role 3 - still live with candidates completing stages 1 and 2 BUT good topline volumes for a tricky role. Less diverse in terms of gender but good diversity in other 'categories'.

Cord is the most useful and easiest to navigate, when it comes to sourcing talent. I love gow easy and friendly the interface is and all the features built onto the platforms are fab.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Haven't found a thing that I dislike to be honest.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Connecting with best-matched talent for my sourcing needs.

 ### 35. Great platform for inhouse teams - efficient for sourcing/contacting

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Coral A. | Senior TA, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 19, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

- Easy to use
- Candidates streams auto filter candidates suitable for your role

- Well organized steams for each candidate within each job ad
- Allows for switch communication on both candidate and employer
- Quick and simple to add/remove job ads
- KPI measures help measure success, both company and individual

**What do you dislike about cord?**

It's a great tool and helps to pipeline efficiently..
The only thing (like all platforms) can be a little hit and miss in the quality of candidates skills vs what's on the cv

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Its another source for candidates that are actively looking
- Its time saving as suitable candidates are pulled into your stream as and when the profiles match
- Sourcing is quick and and easy to filter

 ### 36. Highly recommend for startups with limited runway

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thomas M. | Co-Founder & CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2023

**What do you like best about cord?**

After being completely stunned to learn that recruiters now charge up to 25% in fees 😠 I decided to restart my Cord subscription.

I can only speak for early-stage UK founders/start-ups, but if you are in the process of hiring engineers, then I highly recommend using https://cord.co.

The platform has improved drastically since we last used it 15 months ago. It feels like Cord is now vetting engineers before allowing them to join the platform, which has meant the calibre of candidates has vastly improved!

They have also created some cool and efficient quick-access features for finding talented engineers, so it saves even more time. 👍

Plus, it costs 1/20th of the recruiter fees! Highly recommend the platform. Keep it up, Cord team, smashing it.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

I do get some candidates messaging me outside of the location I want to recruit for.

It isn't possible to filter by funding stage in streams.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hiring talented engineers quickly, easily and affordably. I am about to hire two engineers for a total cost of £597!!!

 ### 37. Leveraging the human connection for a great hiring experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Douglas L. | Principal Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2021

**What do you like best about cord?**

Direct messaging-based engagement with candidates drives candidate buy-in and offers great opportunities for nurturing engagement through to a decision point. I can gain a much clearer idea of which candidates are likely to stay the course versus those who will drop out of the pipeline, enabling me to prioritise my attention well. Further, the cost model is perfect for a growing organization.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

There really is nothing to dislike. Cord provides a terrific experience end to end.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cord provides us with a plentiful supply of prospective candidates and makes it easy to qualify those candidates based on skillsets/experience/preferences. The engagement model enables us to pitch our roles strongly to candidates, increasing our chances of securing the right talent.

 ### 38. An Automated Job Board for Job Seekers and Organisations alike

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Guilherme F. | People, Talent and Culture Partner, Retail, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 26, 2023

**What do you like best about cord?**

Cord is one of the best and most modern Job Boards in the market. Not only it is a complete tool, but it also has a lot of automation to easily communicated and provide feedback to candidates.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Cord was focused solely on Tech Hiring and was not available for other Business roles. That being said, they recently implemented the option to add all types of roles, so I think it become a pretty complete tool.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cord allows the automation of a lot of functions involved in the sourcing of applicants in Recruiting. Aside from this, it provides a clear and complete overview of how to communicate with job seekers and vice-versa.

 ### 39. A great experience that allowed me to regain control of our hiring

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Samantha H. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 20, 2023

**What do you like best about cord?**

It's a very intuitive platfrom - even for people who aren't super familiar with developer languages. My co-founder and I were really intimidated by the hiring process because we aren't techies ourselves, but cord made it super easy.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

I think the actual design could do with a bit of an update. It looks a little bit clunky (even though it is easy to use). The actual design and branding could be a bit more competitive with slicker-looking platforms like Otta.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're looking for our first developer hire. With recruiters, you never know if they have your best interest at heart so my co-founder and I are much more comfortable with taking the process into our own hands and using a platform that connects us directly with potential hires.

 ### 40. Great hiring tool!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Staffing and Recruiting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 19, 2023

**What do you like best about cord?**

- Good search filters
- Clear candidate profiles, easy to understand their requirements
- Had great success hiring high quality engineers, brilliant for getting fast responses and candidate engagement

**What do you dislike about cord?**

- There arent always quite the right skills for some of the less technical roles
- Location filter isn't always effective

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Opens up a talent pool of active candidates who are engaged with the company and job search, brilliant for filling up the start of your pipeline.

**Official Response from Chloe Warner-Harris:**

> Hi there! It's Chloe from cord. Thank you for the review! Please could you email chloe@cord.co - I need your email address as with an anon review I don't know who this is I'm afraid. Thank you!

 ### 41. Excellent customer service, user friendly platform.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 25, 2023

**What do you like best about cord?**

The team is available to assist with everything you need. The product itself is excellent and easy to use. It saved me a substantial amount of time in our latest recruitment round. I Like that you can cancel the subscription and re-launch it when it suits you. No contracts, very straightforward process.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Too many email notifications are set as default.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Traditional recruitment companies are history now this exists.

 ### 42. A brilliantly easy way to source developers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brendt E. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 07, 2023

**What do you like best about cord?**

It is the easiest sourcing platform that I've used. I love that everything is on the platform - searching, messaging, posting jobs.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Only 2.
1: when someone "replies to" your message declining your offer rather than declines your message from the start and that counts as a 'sourced' person.
2: needs to have an option where you know if someone has unrestricted work rights in a country (and not in need of sponsorship).

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problem it solves is finding suitably qualified and vetted software developer talent without advertising on multiple sites and having to sort through many applications. Because those people on the site are open to work it means I have less chasing to do to find quality talent.

 ### 43. Great platform

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James K. | Senior Talent Partner, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 30, 2023

**What do you like best about cord?**

The engagement from candidates in the Tech space is excellent.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

The volume when it comes to the talent pool lacks when compared to platforms like LinkedIn.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Immediate engagement with good candidates

 ### 44. Invaluable source for tech hiring

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2023

**What do you like best about cord?**

- The level of transparency (both on the company and candidate side - salary information, technical skills clearly outlined, candidate motivations / expectations)
- Overall calibre of talent is super impressive
- Good level of variety in terms of the different skill-set of candidates who are accessible via Cord - this is and has been particularly useful when hiring software engineers with different technical backgrounds

**What do you dislike about cord?**

- Sometimes the process of posting a job can feel a bit extensive, however I do like the feature of linking Cord to your ATS

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Cord has previously been a particularly useful tool for us during periods of growth within our engineering chapter, and has contributed to several critical hires for us as a business
- We have seen greater hiring success with Cord than when using other similar platforms

 ### 45. Good platform and feels more refreshing to use!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kav P. | Senior Talent Acquisition Advisor, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 01, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

- Being able to receive messages from prospective candidates, rather than it always being the other way around
- Lots of candidates on the platform
- Being able to see your live response rate/time
- Ability to have templates for every type of message and automated follow up messages (very useful and saves a lot of time!)

**What do you dislike about cord?**

- Personally feel that the UI and candidate search could be a little cleaner
- Receive tons of notifications from different roles, so a lot of the time candidates for hard to fill roles get lost. Would be great if it wasn't automatically received (i know we can turn it off, but i feel it should be the other way around)

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Cord makes it easy to create a new or fill an existing pipeline for our tech roles
- Candidates seem a lot more engaged on Cord and generally have a lot higher response rate, compared to LinkedIn and Hired.

 ### 46. Great tool for Talent Partners

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex B. | Talent Partner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 25, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

- The discovering candidate page is easy to read and use.
- Messaging platform is good. Creating it to be more personable than LinkedIn.
- The direct communication ability between candidates and ourselves is excellent for creating the initial relationship.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

- When sending messages and selecting a position to message about, you cannot see the full name if the post has too many characters.
- The messaging platform could be quicker and feels a bit delayed sometimes.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Creating that initial connection which LinkedIn isn't able to do.
- A platform solely for recruiting tech professionals.
- An easy message platform that feels personable when using and reaching out to potential candidates.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Not enough candidates know to use it- needs more exposure.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A gap in our company for talent who are readily available and keen to work.

 ### 48. Innovative hiring tools that makes life easier for employers and jobseekers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

Cord gets instant traction from posting jobs, matching relevant candidates quickly to apply as well as highlighting relevant profiles to approach
