## About cord
cord is a hiring tool that enables companies to fill their pipelines with active people, and make direct hires. This is made possible by giving you access to thousands of responsive, pre-qualified engineers that you can message over a simple person-to-person messaging tool. High response rates make sourcing on cord as simple as sending a message. At cord, we are on a mission to increase the number of people doing their best work by enabling the most simple transaction on earth - a conversation - to happen between someone and their future colleagues. Sourcing is as simple as sending a message, highly responsive candidates give you your time back. On average, 44% of messages sent by companies result in an interview. By making hiring feel more like starting a conversation, cord lowers the barriers to entry and enables whole teams to be built that wouldn’t otherwise exist.

## cord Reviews
  ### 1. Great experience using and awesome data insights

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tom M. | Talent and People Lead , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 05, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

The huge and diverse candidate pool as well as amazing data insites!

**What do you dislike about cord?**

That more people are not using it and maybe having more touch points with the CS team.

**Recommendations to others considering cord:**

It has a huge candidate pool with alot of amazing talent there. I would also recomend using their data insights as we have found it useful when looking at salary and industry trends and changes!

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have found hiring time has been cut down since using cord. We have also realised the data insights have been incredibly helpful when adusting salaries and being closer to market rate!

  ### 2. Cord is a great tool to find engineers without the expense of agencies

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

Clicking on a candidate anywhere in app brings up the cv.
And contact history is good
It has templates and it's easy to filter search rules

**What do you dislike about cord?**

One thing - On a shared account the other staff struggle to find a client - because the default search ios "my messages". eventually found it when they selected "team messages".
I have just scrolled back up to here - this survey is far too long. It is starting to annoy me now!

**Recommendations to others considering cord:**

This is much cheaper than an Agency or a Job site. It's quite easy to use, but you need to check it daily.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are recruiting 2 or 3 engineers. 1 accepted offer so far, one pending. Costs a fraction of an agency

  ### 3. Easy To Use New Resource

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mitchell F. | Director of Talent, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 07, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

Easy to use format and easy to connect to candidates. Platform allows you to easily search for candidates and see resumes and contact info.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Can run a little expensive, but worth it

**Recommendations to others considering cord:**

As they gain more traction and build up their talent base, they will become a premier resource

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cord makes it easy to communicate with candidates in realtime through the platform itself.

  ### 4. The best place to find great engineering and product talent

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 07, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

The quality of candidates is exceptional. The platform makes it very easy to search & filter candidates, message qualifying candidates, and automate scheduling a call with the.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

It's a self-service tool which requires your own daily time investment. Having said this, their message automation and scheduling features take most of the effort out.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's solving us scaling our team in a very competitive market. It reduces the time it takes to do so versus other self-service platforms and no doubt leads to better results than most recruitment agencies.

  ### 5. An intuitive searching tool with great ROI

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Apparel & Fashion | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 25, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

I've enjoyed using cord over the past 6 months. It has an incredibly diverse range of candidates who are incredibly relevant to our hiring needs. We also find that the response rate is higher than other similar sourcing platforms. We also get a great customer experience with support from their CSMs who go out of the way to answer even small silly questions. I really like the user interface, which makes it a bit less visually numbing when sourcing candidates. We've made some great hires from the platform, and it's an integral part of our sourcing strategy.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

There are a few bugs in the platform which I dislike, such as clicking off of someone's profile accidentally bringing you back to the very top of the search page. It could be easier to share profiles with colleagues (such as LinkedIn's 'note' tool) when sharing links of candidate profiles - other people can't open them. Other than that, no complaints.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The platform makes it very easy to pinpoint diverse candidates/people from underrepresented backgrounds. Finding diverse talent on other platforms can mean endless scrolling, like finding a needle in a haystack. With cord it's as easy and pressing a button.

  ### 6. 3+ years cord user, this is an essential tool in my Recruiting Stack.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sophie P. | Talent Lead

**Reviewed Date:** April 25, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

It's ease of use, and it's transparency in-platform. It facilitates productive recruiting conversations between companies and candidates.
Other companies don't offer this same level for tech, without prohibitive expense that makes cost justification for SMEs and Start-Ups impossible.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Nothing that springs to mind. I enjoy using the platform.
I am a returning user though, I tend to implement it everywhere I go (contractor!) so would like to see an option to "skip" the onboarding advice... I don't need it and the dialogue box gets in the way.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Access to the tech candidate market.
Salary transparency.
Candidate engagement.
We're making cost effective hires: our dev hiring is 90% cord sourced candidates.

  ### 7. Efficient and modern way to find tech talent

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Management Consulting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 09, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

It's a great way to source candidates with the skillset you're looking for

**What do you dislike about cord?**

I wish there were more disciplines and profile types on there, but that will come with time as the platform grows

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helped us grow our team of developers

  ### 8. Slick UI, focus on being able to support D&I

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zak M. | Recruitment Partner, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 07, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

The userface is pretty user friendly, generally being pretty intuitive.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

The way streams are set up can be a little bit confusing at times.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allow for anonymous recruiting and for focusing on diverse candidates which is an area of focus for the org.

  ### 9. Cord is great!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 05, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

Super straightforward, easy to use platform, where the response rate is high and fast from candidates who are engaged and looking for new opportunities.
Candidates can book meetings in your diary and you can pause it when you are not hiring so no need for unnecessary spend.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Could do with a few more filtering options (e.g. no option to filter for Program Managers but if you boolean search there are 300+ profiles in the UK that have this on their profile).

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hiring Engineers.
We struggled to get a quick and high response rate from other channels for hiring Software Developers and Cord improved that massively leading to a quick turn around of interviews, offers and successful hires.

  ### 10. The very best platform for Tech hires!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rose W. | Talent Partner, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 06, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

Cord has been so excellent for Product & Tech hires. Older platforms such as LinkedIn have such a low response rate/lack of features - so we decided to pursue Cord a few months ago and haven't looked back! It makes my job so much easier, so grateful!

**What do you dislike about cord?**

I don't seem to be able to send attachments in the message section - but perhaps I'm just missing something!

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Tech & Product hires!

  ### 11. A really compelling talent interaction experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 22, 2021

**What do you like best about cord?**

Following the initial setup, you can quickly manage multiple roles and engage with people who match the things you care about as a business. It constantly provides access to a pool of potential candidates better than anywhere else I've found. It also allows you to work as a team collaboratively as hiring is a team game!

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Some of the UI is a little unintuative in places but generally this is really minor. A little more attention to the interactions would be beneficial but generally it works really well.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's tough to find good engaging potential candidates for our open roles. The market is challenging to keep up with, so being able to identify possible matches with people quickly, engage with them and bring them into interviews within 24 hours of them coming onto the market is vital. With cord I can improve the initial candidate experience and collaborate with my colleagues to respond to potential candidates quickly.

  ### 12. Cord - A good addition to your hiring tooling

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tom C. | Head of Talent, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

Pretty good source of technical candidates

**What do you dislike about cord?**

some of the search facilities can take a bit of trial and error to find the right people. I find you have to do a broader search and look through more candidates to find what you're looking for.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's another source of technical candidates that complements our hiring and sourcing strategies.

  ### 13. Easy to use platform to find highly skilled engineers

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Craig L. | Talent Lead - Tech, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 18, 2021

**What do you like best about cord?**

Candidates on the platform are actively searching for roles and the engagement rate is high.
Profiles are clear on skills and prior experience, so easy to decide if I want to reach out to them.
It's efficient, I don't need to spend all day searching, and a big plus is potential candidates can also reach out to us.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

It would be great if there was also a focus on niche roles and have a higher volume in areas including Security Engineering and Cloud Infrastructure.

**Recommendations to others considering cord:**

Great product for tech hiring. It will save you time without sacrificing quality of hire.
Use it every day and you will find quality tech hires quickly and its also very cost effective.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Finding high-quality engineers in a much more efficient way. If you check the platform every day you all you need is 15 minutes, and you'll likely find a couple of very suitable candidates. It means I don't have to spend as long sourcing and frees up time to deliver on other things in my role

  ### 14. Top quality candidates who actively reply

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tom D. | Tech Talent Acquisition, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 25, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

Easy to use, access to great candidates who are actively looking for new opportunities. Response rates are sky-high compared to LinkedIn

**What do you dislike about cord?**

The location filtering could be slightly more intelligent but I appreciate that isn't the intended use for this platform!

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Finding active candidates in a passive recruitment market

  ### 15. Cord for UK tech hiring

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** tom T. | HR Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

Good quality candidates - more focussed than, say, LinkedIn.

Also these candidates are responsive (can assume they're actively considering moving role)

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Would love if there were more US candidates. Also find those US candidates that are on there, are not as legit as UK.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Finding different candidates than we'd otherwise see

  ### 16. Excellent platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 05, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

Ease of use, a huge pool of talent and quick responses. It's up to you how much you get out of it but it even offers preconfigured settings so there's no need to dig too deep unless you want to. The best thing of all is there are no agencies!

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Not really anything. It was fine. A lot better than this G2 platform that is making me type something here before it'll let me submit my review.

**Recommendations to others considering cord:**

Do it, its great

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Building teams. Quickly and affordably

  ### 17. A much better way to hire developers.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Josh G. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 24, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

Cord really makes finding the right candidates simple and the interactions are very human. It's a drastic improvement on any other platform or recruitment process i've used. Only wish there were more devs on there!

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Needs more developers! They could also improve the granularity of how to search for certain combinations of skills and for which timezones or areas of the world I am searching in.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problem of finding the right developers for our business. We have so far hired 2 devs through cord and intend to hire more.

  ### 18. Excellent for finding candidates

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 07, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

Very user friendly system
Great candidates
Clear
Sufficient about of detail

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Sometimes candidates aren't as responsive as I would like. But that is not at the fault of cord

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hiring gaps

  ### 19. Great Platform to use, very easy and quick.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tas R. | Recruitment, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 07, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

Great pool of candidates and information is easily displayed.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Everything was all good. maybe some training to begin with would have been useful!

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Able to access a great pool of candidates that you would not necessary otherwise.

  ### 20. Cord delivers experienced Software Engineers to your doorstep

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sara C. | Recruitment Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2021

**What do you like best about cord?**

I like receiving notifications via Slack that a new candidate has entered one of my streams. I can check them out and message them right away if they look like a good fit.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Sometimes candidates come up in my stream who aren't relevant based on the top and secondary skills indicated in the job spec.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cord saves me time sourcing, and the response rate has been pretty good. Also, I've had Software Engineers reach out to me - their active candidates are genuinely looking to connect with companies.

  ### 21. Happy cord user

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Richard L. | CTO

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

Good selection of candidates and able to review profiles anonymised so we can assess without diversity bias

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Notifications coming through on weekends/public holidays

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hiring diverse developers

  ### 22. Super easy to use!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 05, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

The Slack integration is really helpful - it's great getting a quick ping whenever someone new enters my stream. Lots of great candidates on the platform too.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Some candidates that pop up aren't always entirely relevant based on my filters, but this is rare

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Efficient in terms of overall time spent sourcing for our product and tech roles

  ### 23. Brilliant!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

So much better than the other hiring platforms I've tried.
Search function is excellent

**What do you dislike about cord?**

No dislikes at all. for some reason I have to write more test - no dislikes

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We've somewhat solved a lot of our candidate attraction problems.

  ### 24. Hiring 2 senior engineers on cord

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bill L. | Product Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 10, 2021

**What do you like best about cord?**

A fantastic tool for hiring quality engineers, fast.

We tried all of the competition - SnapHR, Otta, Talent.IO and more - and still set up 95% of our tech interviews with cord. We offered 2 senior engineers and could immediately pause our monthly subscription when we finished hiring - super easy. That's a cost-saving of about £17,000, compared to using recruitment agencies or SnapHR/Talent's expensive pay 10-15% (or more) per hire model.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Could add a feature that prompts candidates to read the Job Spec / company profile, say 30 mins before an interview is scheduled

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Finding active and responsive engineering candidates.

Good engineers rarely apply to job adverts, unless you have the luxury of being a FAANG, because they just don't need to.

Cord lets you reach out to good candidates in a v quick & easy way - no need to waste hours of your life with 5% response rates on LinkedIn.

  ### 25. An invaluable source of top candidates and a wonderful employer branding opportunity.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Damir L. | Talent Acquisition Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 10, 2021

**What do you like best about cord?**

Acquiring top tier talent is becoming increasingly difficult for two reasons:-

Firstly, the best talent is now more elusive than ever - it's no longer a case of advertising a role and seeing an pipeline of quality candidates materialise overnight. Headhunting has also been rendered more difficult because Linkedin have a imposed a limit to the amount of invitations that you can send in a week.

This leads to the second point - cost. Linkedin are actively funneling all hiring endeavours towards Linkedin Recruiter and have significantly hiked their prices over the past few years. Sites like Hired and StackOverflow are effective but extremely expensive, and job boards such as Monster, Reed and Totaljobs remain costly and have always been speculate-to-accumulate sites with no guarantee on quality.

This is why you need cord - they cut through the blizzard of candidates by predetermining levels of interest and guaranteeing quality. I'm genuinely excited to see who will be added to the site each week and have no doubt that they will be of high calibre.

The UX is fantastic, with a simple and highly accessible layout, and cord also has a superb company branding page that is easy to set up. cord also integrates with most ATS systems to ensure a seamless transition for candidates into your hiring pipelines.

Most impressively, cord doesn't tie you into a contract, so you can dip in and out of usage on a monthly basis and return to account set up as before whenever needed - this is super useful if you are a Series A company watching your bank balance!

**What do you dislike about cord?**

There are no pages, and you get a long list of candidates. When you message one you will be taken back to the top of the list, so it can be a little time-consuming establishing your previous position.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's a lot easier to reach superb product and engineering talent!

  ### 26. Good way to connect to skilled people

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** J. R. | CTO

**Reviewed Date:** April 08, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

It enables us to connect directly with skilled people open for work.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Notifications can be a bit too much some times

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can directly tap into people that meet our requirements for open roles

  ### 27. My review so far TBC...

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel G. | Talent Partner, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 05, 2022

**What do you like best about cord?**

Proactive nature of candidates, great quality also

**What do you dislike about cord?**

If anything I would say that it some seem like the candidate pool is large enough

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Speaking to great candidates and building candidate relationships

  ### 28. Amazing for initiating genuine conversations!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kyle M. | Tech Talent Scout, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2021

**What do you like best about cord?**

Cord helps to reduce our sourcing time and to reduce unnecessary chit-chat. Both parties can state their preferences clearly so exepctations are set early and are made clear. Though there are less people on Cord than Linkedin, Cord has proved vastly more useful due to the nature of the platform.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Cord definitley has some catching up to do with LinkedIn or other platforms, which is improving every week with its close to 500+ new candidates. Which, considering cord has only been around a year or two, is quite impressive. The metrics can also prove to be a little bit counter-intuitive, though once you get your head around how they work (which isn't hard to do) then the platform is able to prove how powerful it is.

**Recommendations to others considering cord:**

I would highly recommend for technical recruitment; cord enables you to cut the 'fluff' and chit chat the is associated with engineer recruitment, and truley does make it easier.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Time. We can perform outreach to a candidate, and they can book in a time not 15 minutes later; it's fantastic. After outreach, we get access to their CV and contact details which, again, cuts out a lot of the middle man.

  ### 29. Great tool for targeted hires

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Luke K. | Recruiter, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2021

**What do you like best about cord?**

The ability to find targeted candidates, with a good amount of specificity over tech stack, right to work, location, and previous experience. There's a good number of active candidates too, and response rates are generally high.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Posting the job description before being able to message can be a bit time consuming when you have multiple similar roles, but turnaround time for the team to review the JD is often quite quick.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helping us to meet our hiring quotas, and saving money against agency usage

  ### 30. Quality candidates and well-built platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2021

**What do you like best about cord?**

- Quality of the talents: excellent spread of different levels as well as different engineering roles (not hiring any non-engineering roles so no idea what's like for those).
- Well-built, easy-to-use platform: doesn't take long to get started and once I worked out a workflow it's pretty organised and not as time-consuming as I initially anticipated. Those tutorials and videos helped too.
- Reasonably priced for startups: we're just starting up so comparably Cord is the best value for money right now.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Only one month in so not much really. If pushed, I'd say that the depth of talent pool in different roles varies. For example we've had good results on Java backend but not so much around C# backend. To address that, I'd like to see Cord run some targetted marketing to get more talent of certain roles onto the platform.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Engineering hiring. It helps us increase numbers at the top of the hiring funnel significantly. We're confident about our interview process; with Cord we're seeing great results instantly.

  ### 31. Fantastic platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nefeli Z. | Talent Partner, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 28, 2021

**What do you like best about cord?**

The platform is intuitive, easy to use, can accommodate many users and the Slack integration is just the best- I won't have to repeat a search ever again.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

I appreciate that it takes a lot of manpower, but it would be nice if all candidates had resumes attached to their profiles.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest problem solved is time- new candidates just appear in my stream.

  ### 32. Great tool for hiring tech talent

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jamie G. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 31, 2021

**What do you like best about cord?**

The message templates are super convenient. Also navigating between candidates is also great.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

The price is very high, even at a startup discount. When I press 'hide' in the Slack integration the candidate doesn't disappear from my Slack feed. It would also be good if it had more European talent, not just UK (the UK is expensive).

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easily screening how good candidates are. Messaging candidates is super easy, which saves a ton of time.

  ### 33. Always a pleasure to be using Cord 🤩

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anthony T. | T, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2021

**What do you like best about cord?**

So many things! But if I had to choose one it would be the quality of candidates

**What do you dislike about cord?**

That it's becoming big, so a lot of competition on the platform

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For our business, it solves the hardships of sourcing quality candidates.

  ### 34. This isn't your normal platform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Suf B. | Talent Partner (Tech), Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 10, 2021

**What do you like best about cord?**

The responsiveness of candidates really is a breath of fresh air - especially when historically we only had the use of LinkedIn Recruiter. It makes for an easy conversation. The platform itself is very easy to navigate.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Sometimes the calendar does not sync correctly with my gmail calendar and so some candidates were double booking. I also think there needs to be a functionality where you have 'maximum number of calls a day' - sometimes I was having 8/9 calls a day, which is great, but would have preferred them slightly more spaced out. This is very minor and definitely does not outweigh the incredible benefits of Cord!

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The benefits are clearly there. In less than 2 weeks, we've offered a Java Engineer - something that is really quite rare on other platforms. It's really easy to book candidates in and takes away a lot of back and forth with typical interview scheduling.

  ### 35. Cord was easy to use and a pleasure to be able to chat with candidates directly

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2021

**What do you like best about cord?**

Ease of use and the ability to chat to candidates directly to arrange interviews.
I also liked being able to see when candidates have been active on the platform.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

It would be good to have the ability to make a shortlist with notes or comments against candidates for others in my team to review.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The challenge we were trying to solve was Hiring software engineers with relevant experience who are a good match for our company.
The main benefit was that we hired through the platform within a relatively short period, and we were able to pause the subscription until the next time we need to use it.

  ### 36. Great platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexandra B. | Talent Acquisition Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 29, 2021

**What do you like best about cord?**

The responsiveness from candidates and the quality of candidates

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Can't think of any downsides! Love using it :)

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quick responses from candidates and a lot more openness to having a conversation. You find candidates that you don't come across on other platforms such as LI

  ### 37. Cord for Tech talent sourcing is in a league of its own.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kiran T. | Co-founder at Tillit, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 01, 2021

**What do you like best about cord?**

Easy setup, a slick user interface, and messaging feature make finding and connecting with great international technical talent a breeze. The automated message templates, follow-up messaging and self-scheduling features save me a lot of my precious time.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

The messaging experience on a mobile browser could be improved. The message window especially is very tiny and obscures the message. But the desktop experience makes up for this minor issue.

**Recommendations to others considering cord:**

Give it a go! A monthly payment plan that you can suspend when hiring is on hold, makes trying cord a no-brainer.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cord offers access to great tech talent, both active and passive, for a reasonable monthly fee. It removes the need for expensive recruiting companies that work on a success fee model — which averages about 15% of annual salary.

  ### 38. Great responses. Great candidates

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Oliver G. | Talent Partner, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 15, 2021

**What do you like best about cord?**

We were getting a very low response rate from LinkedIn and found Cord had better quality candidates with a much higher response rate. The vast majority of candidates we spoke to on Cord would progress to at least 1st interview stage.

It was super easy to set up a few specific streams for the roles I had, and then I would go back and check them during the day to see who had been added.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

There's a lot of competition for candidates.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sourcing time is massively reduced compared to LinkedIn.

  ### 39. Very Useful

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Magdalena C. | TA Partner, Technology & PS, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2020

**What do you like best about cord?**

Engagement with candidates, the fact that you can almost see them active in real-time and get responses straight away.
Quick engagement!

**What do you dislike about cord?**

So far so good! Still getting used to the interface and it's not that intuitive like Linkedin Recruiter but to be honest it will probably work better when I will work on it more

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quick responses
Easy engagement
Easy way to book calls
More active on the market candidates

  ### 40. Cord provides quality over quality at your finger tips!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Luke Z. | Talent Acquisition Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2021

**What do you like best about cord?**

It has an easy to use interface, candidates on the platform browsing can see your needs and those that are active and looking are easy to engage with. You can even go back to passive and inactive candidates, do some research and still reach out, you may just get lucky as I have.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Nothing yet, but I would like to see an increased number of mid - senior level female engineers on the platform.

**Recommendations to others considering cord:**

Use it if you have London or UK wide Engineering needs. It is great and will only get stronger with the UK wide and remote working stance now being taken by most companies!

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quality candidates in to my hiring pipeline. My needs have increased so I am rapidly scaling and hiring as we have moved to front load our engineering hiring now.

  ### 41. Amazing!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Clara M. | Talent Acquisition Lead, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2021

**What do you like best about cord?**

Cord is a great platform, its helped us seek passive engineers and architects. I have hired over 10 people from Cord in the space of 8 weeks from using it. It has been hughly beneficial to us.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Cord has been great so far, no bad things to say.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A different way of hiring great talent, all candidaets are interviewed before coming on to cord which makes a huge difference.

  ### 42. Cord is fantastic!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alice W. | HR/Office Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2021

**What do you like best about cord?**

The direct messaging facility, it is great, easy to use, and means that you don't have to be overly formal.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Nothing! It is so easy to use and I would recommend it to anyone.

**Recommendations to others considering cord:**

Use it!

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are solving the problem of having to strenuously sift through many applicants at different experience levels. We know immediately what people's salary expectations are, where they are located, what kind of company they are looking for and exactly what their primary and secondary skills are. We also able to see the top talent and it constantly gets refreshed with the best and most active talent. It's fab!

  ### 43. Easy, effective and efficient

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Abbas K. | Senior Talent Partner (via Scout), Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2021

**What do you like best about cord?**

Integrated messaging system makes it easier to communicate with candidates quickly

**What do you dislike about cord?**

When you start messaging a candidate or creating a message template, you can't just 'x' out of the window, you have to refresh and start all over. Not a big issue, but I think it's a simple fix

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Roles that require specific skills, you can use the search criteria to really narrow down your results

  ### 44. Great for recruitment

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2021

**What do you like best about cord?**

Really strong candidates available and easy to reach - very high candidate response rates

**What do you dislike about cord?**

I wish the interface between messages, candidate search, etc was better organised. An internal scheduling tool would also be helpful

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hiring very strong developers

  ### 45. THE alternative to old fashioned recruitment agencies

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kevin P. | Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 29, 2021

**What do you like best about cord?**

Informal, transparent and fast, we had many applicants in just a few days. Slack notifications were an unexpected bonus!

**What do you dislike about cord?**

The interface could do with a few improvements, but it's all pretty new, and for the most part, it was intuitive and fast - I'm sure they'll iron out the handful of UX quirks soon enough. Nothing to dislike about the service though, loved all of it.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having used traditional recruitment agencies over the last 20 years, this is definitely the way to hire for us. Super fast to view CV's, search, and be messaged by candidates genuinely interested in your position. No more useless CV's being thrown at us by 'specialist agencies' who most often don't appear to even read beyond the initial skill sets of candidates.

Cord is efficient, certainly more effective, and excellent value - we placed our hires within one month. Direct communication with candidates takes away the frustrations of an agency 'middle-managing' everything, from CV's to appointments to second interviews to 3rd party feedback.

  ### 46. Great platform

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2021

**What do you like best about cord?**

- The messaging templates and the option to schedule a call after the first message.
- The quality of the candidates
- Streams of candidates with an update once a new candidate has joined.
- UI - able to see the important things about the candidate easily
- Filtering - main skills, visa status, diversity etc.
- Great support

**What do you dislike about cord?**

- The number of candidates - could have been better
- No option for bulk messages
- Only London based candidates
- Some bugs on the system

**Recommendations to others considering cord:**

I would recommend if you are hiring tech candidates in London

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Finding candidates without wasting a lot of time - makes sourcing candidates a bit easier than using other platforms.

  ### 47. A really intuitive and effective tool.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 22, 2021

**What do you like best about cord?**

It is so easy to communicate with relevant people, the email and job templates make it really quick to connect with lots of people in the relevant pool. There is a huge range of relevant people waiting to connect with you. I like that it makes it really easy to message potential candidates quickly and informally to make contact and explore the opportunity with them. You can set up multiple job steams and view relevant candidates clearly. The candidate profiles make it easy to quickly assess key details before clicking through to the CV, this saves lots of time and makes shortlisting much faster and more effective. The system is very user friendly and intuitive to navigate around.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

There are some limitations on the job template so you cannot free type required skills or leave out 'secondary skills' for example if you don't want to put any there. Otherwise there is nothing I dislike about using Cord.

**Recommendations to others considering cord:**

Set up templates for your message responses to make the process slicker. Take time in setting up your job framework to ensure you get relevant candidates in the job stream.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Recruiting for technical staff. We are able to reach a much larger audience and speak with more relevant candidates than we had been able to when using traditional job boards. It has enabled us to successfully fill difficult job vacancies that we had to niche skill sets.

  ### 48. Great way to engage with candidates!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 07, 2021

**What do you like best about cord?**

- candidates are responsive / actively looking for new roles
- transparency (pay / work authorisation / roles targeting / previous experience / other companies candidate is engaged with)

**What do you dislike about cord?**

- have issues with outlook scheduling
- haven't had as much success with candidates at the leader level, better suited for hiring individual contributors

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- candidate engagement - candidates are very responsive
- brand building

  ### 49. Cord has been awesome for our tech start-up!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mark N. | Advisory Board Member, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2021

**What do you like best about cord?**

A pool of highly engaged engineers is what we needed. The search capability is very good and the response rate has been high.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

Some candidates didn't show, but that's not the fault of the platform. It might be useful to have a reminder tool within the platform to let them know that they have a call scheduled.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We need to add over 40 engineers fast and the platform has allowed us to speak to good candidates at pace. We're flat out!

  ### 50. Fantastic Tool - Recruitment just got so much easier!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mohsin S. | Talent Partner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2021

**What do you like best about cord?**

Candidates are making the first move and always being able to have a good view of the company and role beforehand.

**What do you dislike about cord?**

There should be a more subtle way of rejecting candidates after you have accepted them if they're no longer relevant.
There is no search bar.

**What problems is cord solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Saving so much time - speaking to relevant candidates.
