The data! I don't think the ConstructConnect has provided us with as many opportunities to bid as we had hoped. It's not that the projects aren't out there - it's the CC researchers that aren't finding them. Don't be fooled by the CC Salespeople - they know little about the construction industry. I like that you can manage all your projects through one central database inside the bid center. It makes it much easier to navigate between projects and quickly find the ones that are out for bid. I also like the filters you can use to sort projects by location and see who is assigned to each one. They also have almost every project for the Business Journals in their Data Base. The only thing I don’t like about ConstructConnect is that, as a third-party building consultant company, there’s no way to list our business as a consultant—only as a supplier. Also, every time we get invited to bid on projects, chances are they’re already well underway, so we don’t have any real opportunity to get involved. I’m still trying to fully figure out how to narrow down the searches so they match my specific wants and needs for what we do. I do like that I get daily project updates for predictive work, plus a separate update for the landscape-specific type of work we’re set up for. That said, I still find that the landscape-specific searches aren’t quite filtering to only landscape projects, which makes it harder to focus on what we actually want to bid on. It’s fairly expensive compared to other sources we use. Also, the search filters don’t seem accurate—we end up getting random predictive projects and landscape-specific project emails sent to us daily. I’ve also found that some projects show up late compared to other sources, and we constantly miss the mandatory meeting dates, which then disqualifies us from bidding. I don't use ConstructConnect Project Intelligence as much anymore because they changed the platform on me, which is very annoying and frustrating. I used to get information on design build companies all across the country, but now the search is limited to specific projects in my area. This change has reduced the number of leads I can find, and the search results aren't as comprehensive as they used to be. I also wish they could implement more AI features for automation and sending emails, rather than focusing primarily on bidding aspects, since I am looking more for leads. If you're a small contractor, go in with your eyes open: this is a year-long commitment, the leads may not match your trade or area, and getting any flexibility once you've signed is an uphill battle.
