The licensing model is simple, but if your tenant has high storage consumption, you have to pay extra for it. With the Cohesity integration, we ran into problems related to that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Veritas Alta Data Protection solution is a multiplatform solution that allows for coordinated work of the backup and recovery processes in various IT settings. It allows for a simple setting up and tracking of the backup operations and ensures some of the most vital data is always backed. This particular aspect is among those that demonstrate the app’s specialized nature and its capacity to back up applications consistently. Thus, it allows capturing data from databases, emails servers, and enterprise applications in backed up state, and they can do granular restores if it is required. Furthermore, deduplication and compression available at Alta decrease the needed storage capacity and network load associated with backups. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We have chosen the Verotas Alta data protection because of its comprehensive data backup and recovery facilities, backup security, fast recovery. It's an easy task to deploy the solution in my infrastructure. We can integrate with any cloud vendors and keep our data offsite too. We can restore the data any day at any time, and single file restoration is possible with a single click, which is the best feature I loved the most. It has a centralized GUI across DC. We can easily integrate it, and anyone with a basic understanding of backup technology can operate the console properly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There is not much to dislike about the product because of its various features, but the licensing can be a pain point when adding different or additional storage. Cannot backup the physical machine. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I have been using Veritas Alta Data Protection for more than 15 years, it has been able to protect any workload I had and I am sure it will protect any I will have in the future. It has been very reliable, always have worked for any restore, and it is constantly being improved with new features to make it most resilient with a lot of features to protect from Ransomware attacks and been able to recover your business really fast if needed. It can protect from physical, to virtual and cloud workloads, and use any storage device you may think, from tapes to disk (with deduplication) and cloud cheap object storage like glacier and similar. Also, if you can use always the same vendor you do not need to worry about migrating LTR backups if you change vendor. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I think you first need to have some domain understanding to start using and applying it but i would say that is not a big cons if the documentation is well done and easy to understand Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
