I use CodePen to store all the coding projects I’ve worked on in a small archive, so I can easily reference them later or use them as part of my portfolio. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't love the new CodePen 2.0 editor. It feels harder to use than it needs to be.
I get why the old 1.0 format could hold you back on bigger, more complex prototypes. But when I just want to sketch out a quick, messy idea, spending extra time on setup takes the fun out of it. It kills that spark you get when you're just playing around.
If I wanted a heavier environment, I would have opened VS Code. I loved CodePen because it felt simple and light, like a place to doodle. Now that feeling is gone. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
