"Astonishing All in One solution"
What do you like best about codebeamer?

codeBeamer is one of the best all-in-one solutions on the market. It is undoubtedly one of the most potent ALM systems, but at the same time, it has a good user experience and is very easy to configure. Along with task tracking, planning, requirements, risk management, version control & testing, it also comes with a workflow engine, document management & a wiki. All of this is a rare find. Additionally, with most other tools, you have to work hard for the tool, but this software works for you.

It has more useful features than any of the many competitor systems I came in contact with over the last decade.

This tool is not only useful for SW teams, but also for mechanical and systems engineering teams, which can all work in a more connected collaborative way.

codeBeamer works with a single database, which is a key reason it needs minimal administration efforts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about codebeamer?

I wish the rather intuitive web-based GUI would get another improvement in the future to not require a double click to open trackers. You get used to it, but first time users don't expect this from SW in a browser.

Another thing is because of the many features, new users can be overwhelmed at first, but you can get them started in less than 30 minutes. Days of training like with some of the competing tools are not necessary. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best all in one tool I have used to manage most aspects of the ALM process"
What do you like best about codebeamer?

I have now transitioned two major healthcare software development organizations to developing state of the art mobile and cloud based software platforms.

On both occasions we evaluated tools for ALM and decided to use CodeBeamer. CodeBeamer supports the necessary processes to develop medical system software in an agile manner.

In today’s economy, it is not only important to build and deploy secure and scalable software at great speeds. You must do so while maintaining compliance with industry specific regulations.

Processes and tools that enable us to accelerate delivery and maintain compliance, are key to delivering products in regulated markets.

I have used several ALM, requirements management and agile project management tools throughout my career. I have used JIRA, VersionOne, Rally, ScrumWorks, PTC Integrity, SharePoint/Project Portfolio Manger, IBM Rational Product, Team Foundation Server, QuickTest Pro, Quality Center, etc.

I have also evaluated several other ALM products prior to using code beamer. In my opinion, CodeBeamer is the best all-in-one tool that I have found for developing software in a process centric way.

Deploying the tool was really easy. Creating workflows and Kanbans with CodeBeamer are very intuitive. Creating complex associations between different type of objects is very easy to achieve and visualize. We were able to implement an entire SAFe compliant requirements stack and get up and running in a few weeks. The tractability functionality is great and a must-have if you are in a regulated environment (62304/82304/etc)

I love the document view for all trackers. I can export Word documents that follow the corporate style-guide from within CodeBeamer.

I like the ability to create custom plug-ins and widgets . It's a great approach to creating purpose built reports and view that are pertinent.

Importing data from other processes was also a breeze through the use of REST Apis.

Every time I show auditors what we can achieve with CodeBeamer's traceability features, their jaws drop. They immediately want to learn more.

All in all, CodeBeamer ALM is phenomenal product, and Intland is a great company to partner with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about codebeamer?

Their reporting is very flexible. I would like Intland would work on reports that agregate burndowns across multiple trackers out of the box. Need to get burndown view across multiple teams and across multiple requirements levels to give an appropriate view of how much work is left across teams.

Work on integration with IDE tools (Visual Studio Code, etc) . Developers like to be able to manager their deliverables from within IDEs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Complete Regulatory Compliance QMS System"
What do you like best about codebeamer?

The best part about codeBeamer is how flexible the configuration is. We use the medical device template as a base, but we have to customize just about every aspect of the workflow to align with our company goals while maintaining regulatory expectations. We can customize every tracker field, user permission, and workflow to our needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about codebeamer?

For the 9.X version of codeBeamer, there are issues with the branching feature that prevents our organization from using the feature. Intland has informed us that a newer version has fixed this issue, but our organization has not yet had the opportunity to upgrade our server due to the regulatory requirement that any new server must be completely re-validated and re-verified as fit for use. This V&V activity is extensive and requires time and resources, which we have not yet committed to the project. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"codebeamer is the best ROI of any software tool MIS has purchased"
What do you like best about codebeamer?

ALM, Change Management and Requirements Management are simply the best. We rely upon it heavily for Bug Tracking, Continuous Testing Platform, DevOps and Development and even activity tracking. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about codebeamer?

There is nothing we dislike, it continues to evolve faster than we do. I was the sponsor, still a user, and once an admin Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Codebeamer is a comprehensive solution for requirements management, testing and traceability"
What do you like best about codebeamer?

Codebeamer is powerful and flexible. We can customize and configure our projects to capture exactly the data we need and align with our existing processes and workflows. Codebeamer lets us easily show traceability between requirement specifications, test runs, risk items, and releases. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about codebeamer?

Codebeamer has a broad range of capabilities and is highly configurable. Some users might find that codebeamer can have a steep learning curve as compared to simpler software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"CB review"
What do you like best about codebeamer?

So far we still have very limited knowledge with Code Beamer. The tool is efficient to support various processes. The template modification is easy. The training and support from Intland are very quick and professional. Very much appreciated here! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about codebeamer?

We would appreciate that the default template is more tailored to support basic development processes. The biggest challenge/surprise for us is to actually define everything from scratch, while we believed that using CB would ensure us the compliance to the standard processes (like proposed by Matlab/Simulink). Well, this can also be a misunderstanding from our side from the very beginning... Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Codebeamer has been a great alternative to other, more rigid Lifecycle Management tools"
What do you like best about codebeamer?

The flexabitliy in being able to tailor processes based upon our needs without having to rely on additinal consultants or level 3 or 4 vendor support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about codebeamer?

Some additional feature sets or widgets would be helpful (Gantt Charts etc). Codebeamer is great from an Agile / Product Owner perspective, but we have reverted to using other systems for traditional Project Management. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"codebeamer @ Colorado State University"
What do you like best about codebeamer?

One-stop-shop solution for software lifecycle management; no patchworking of individual tools; homogenous VCS management and integration; Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about codebeamer?

tracker config (layout) and permission management sometimes tideous; user management concerning users, roles, and groups is too multi-layered; control of anonymous access non-intuitive and limited. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great tool for regulatory ALM with just a few quirks"
What do you like best about codebeamer?

This solution offers a lot in a single package. All the expected functionality is present in requirement management, manual test management, agile project management, and document management. Some areas go well beyond the usual and offer exceptionally rich functionality or ease of use. Such areas are e.g. reviews and the import features, which include excellent ReqIF support.

The system has been designed form ground up to fullfill the needs of regulated industries, with emphasis to issues like traceability, electronic signatures, audit log etc. Industry-specific templates are available and they can expedite on-boarding.

The user interface has a clear and fresh look. Even system administration is fairly straightforward, although in many cases, one has to revert to JSON editing. Everything can still be managed through the web interface.

The hosted environment has been very dependable with no performance issues, and support from Intland helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about codebeamer?

Exporting decent documents is not as easy as it could. Getting the Word templates correct takes a lot of trial and error, and options for conditional formatting and content are limited. This tool would benefit significantly from a good integrated reporting engine.

Some terminology choices are unfamiliar to casual users; not many have heard of "trackers" before.

The system relies very heavily on various templates, meaning also that there are very few options for global data configuration. You have to have our company-specific templates ready before creating new projects, or you end up duplicating configuration changes to several projects.

My client is using codebeamer X, and it shares its foundation with the more mature codebeamer. The user's guide of codebeamer X is written on a high-level only, and with many technical issues one has to revert back to the codebeamer user's guide. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"User friendly and powerful tool"
What do you like best about codebeamer?

During the selection process for codebeamerX it was clear it had the best UI out of all of the candidate software. We worked with a few companies to conduct user trials and out of all of them our engineers commented that it felt like the easiest software to use with minimal training. As the lead engineer in selecting codebeamerX the staff we very helpful, showed how codebeamerX could be tailored for our requirements and overall felt like they wanted to help us, not just sell us a software tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about codebeamer?

Some of the views could be more customizable, but this is a small problem fixed by an easy workaround. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
