What do you like best about codebeamer?

First and foremost, the tool is useable by our engineers with minimal training, a stark contrast to our previous tool that was perceived too difficult. The UI is pretty easy to use and the concepts of workspaces and trackers allow structuring projects nicely. There is good traceability, even across different workspaces. The predefined configuration templates make sense and are nice to kick-start initial configuration. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about codebeamer?

The licensing model lacks floating/shared licenses. In general, usage of tools like this fluctuates over the life of a project, and with multiple projects running, shared licenses would be helpful to get the right cost/value balance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about codebeamer?

Flexibility: Ability to build any data model, including connections between data objects (References)

Configurability: Ability to configure workflows, rules, permissions ,etc freely and on many different detail levels.

Extendability: Ability to add custom workflow actions and Plugins that do not interfere with the system negatively, but extend its functionality. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about codebeamer?

- The UI/UX needs an update - They are working on it with codeBeamerX

What problems is codebeamer solving and how is that benefiting you?

We are able to implement a data model and ruleset including electronic signatures to build a system that creates the formal Design History File while the products get developed. This is not possible in any other tool on the market and the benefits are tremendous. We are making the signing of 10k - 70k pages of documents per project obsolete and integrate the signatures on the content directly into the tool while the work is being done. What do you like best about codebeamer?

codeBeamer is one of the best all-in-one solutions on the market. It is undoubtedly one of the most potent ALM systems, but at the same time, it has a good user experience and is very easy to configure. Along with task tracking, planning, requirements, risk management, version control & testing, it also comes with a workflow engine, document management & a wiki. All of this is a rare find. Additionally, with most other tools, you have to work hard for the tool, but this software works for you.

It has more useful features than any of the many competitor systems I came in contact with over the last decade.

This tool is not only useful for SW teams, but also for mechanical and systems engineering teams, which can all work in a more connected collaborative way.

codeBeamer works with a single database, which is a key reason it needs minimal administration efforts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about codebeamer?

I wish the rather intuitive web-based GUI would get another improvement in the future to not require a double click to open trackers. You get used to it, but first time users don't expect this from SW in a browser.

Another thing is because of the many features, new users can be overwhelmed at first, but you can get them started in less than 30 minutes. Days of training like with some of the competing tools are not necessary. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is codebeamer solving and how is that benefiting you?

You can easily integrate codeBeamer with many other tools in order to get a one-stop shop, which contains or links to all of your SW development artifacts, including Office and PDF files, Project Management and Sprint planning. It also gives you bidirectional traceability between each artifact. This is not only useful for regulated environments. If anything is changing, you know which other parts might be affected too. codeBeamer is certainly one of the best solutions for Requirements Management, the fact that it is part of an ALM makes it even better.
