"Powerful Security and Faster Performance in One Intuitive Cloudflare Platform"
5/5
What do you like best about Cloudflare Application Security and Performance?

What I like best about Cloudflare Application Security and Performance is how it combines powerful security features with excellent website and application performance in a single platform. The dashboard is clean and intuitive, making it easy to configure WAF rules, DDoS protection, caching, SSL/TLS settings, and traffic analytics without requiring extensive manual management.

One of the most valuable benefits has been the performance improvements delivered through Cloudflare's global CDN and intelligent caching. Pages load faster for users across different regions, which has improved both user experience and application responsiveness. The real-time analytics and monitoring tools also provide clear visibility into traffic patterns, threats, and performance metrics, helping us identify issues quickly.

Cloudflare integrates seamlessly with our existing infrastructure and third-party services, making deployment straightforward. The onboarding process was smooth, and the documentation is comprehensive, allowing teams to get value from the platform quickly. Support resources and community documentation have also been helpful whenever advanced configurations were needed.

An unexpected benefit has been the AI-powered threat detection and automated security features that help identify and mitigate suspicious activity with minimal manual intervention. This automation reduces operational workload while strengthening overall security.

From a pricing and ROI perspective, Cloudflare delivers significant value by reducing infrastructure strain, improving application availability, and protecting against costly security incidents. Overall, it provides an excellent balance of security, performance, ease of use, and scalability for organizations of all sizes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cloudflare Application Security and Performance?

One downside of Cloudflare Application Security and Performance is that some advanced security and performance features are only available in higher-tier plans, which can become expensive for smaller organizations as their requirements grow. While the platform is powerful, certain configurations—such as custom WAF rules, bot management settings, and complex traffic-routing policies—can have a learning curve for new users.

Another challenge is that troubleshooting can sometimes be difficult because traffic passes through Cloudflare's network before reaching the origin server. When issues occur, it may take additional time to determine whether the root cause is related to Cloudflare settings, DNS configuration, caching behavior, or the application itself.

Although the dashboard is generally user-friendly, the large number of features and settings can occasionally feel overwhelming, especially for teams that are new to application security. In some cases, security rules may require fine-tuning to avoid false positives that could block legitimate traffic. However, these drawbacks are relatively minor compared to the overall security, performance, and reliability benefits the platform provides. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Eight Years Later, Cloudflare Remains a Core Part of My Technology Stack"
5/5
What do you like best about Cloudflare Application Security and Performance?

Title: One of the Most Valuable Technology Platforms I Have Used in the Past Decade

I have been using Cloudflare for more than eight years across personal projects, small businesses, and enterprise environments. As a Security Architect, I rarely encounter products that consistently deliver on their promises over such a long period of time, but Cloudflare is one of those exceptions.

What initially attracted me to Cloudflare was the ability to improve website security and performance with minimal effort. Over time, it became a foundational part of my technology stack. Today, I rely on Cloudflare for DNS management, CDN services, SSL/TLS management, Web Application Firewall (WAF), DDoS protection, Cloudflare Tunnel, Zero Trust access controls, analytics, bot management, and AI crawler controls.

The biggest strength of the platform is its ability to provide enterprise-grade capabilities to organizations of every size. Features that previously required expensive hardware appliances, multiple vendors, and dedicated security staff are now available through a single platform. The fact that Cloudflare offers so much value through its free plan is remarkable. In my opinion, no business owner should operate a public-facing website without Cloudflare or a comparable service protecting it.

From a security perspective, Cloudflare has helped reduce attack surface, mitigate malicious traffic, protect administrative interfaces, and improve visibility into threats. The WAF, DDoS protection, and bot management features provide significant protection without requiring constant tuning. Cloudflare Tunnel and Zero Trust have been especially valuable by allowing secure access to applications without exposing infrastructure directly to the internet.

From a performance perspective, Cloudflare consistently improves page load times, caching efficiency, and overall website reliability. Even small websites can benefit from the global content delivery network and optimization features. The impact is noticeable both for website visitors and backend infrastructure.

The platform also integrates well with modern technology stacks. I have successfully used Cloudflare with WordPress, Microsoft 365, Azure, Google Workspace, various cloud platforms, and numerous business applications. Deployment is generally straightforward, and most organizations can realize value very quickly.

Another area where Cloudflare stands out is innovation. Over the years I have watched the platform expand from a CDN and security provider into a comprehensive application delivery, networking, security, and developer platform. Their continued investment in Zero Trust, AI-related controls, threat intelligence, and application security demonstrates a strong understanding of where technology is heading.

No product is perfect. Some advanced services have a learning curve, and the growing number of capabilities can occasionally make navigation more complex for new users. However, the benefits far outweigh these challenges, especially given the depth of functionality available.

Very few products earn my unconditional recommendation. Cloudflare is one of them. Whether you are protecting a personal website, managing a small business, or securing enterprise infrastructure, Cloudflare delivers exceptional value, strong security, excellent performance, and one of the best returns on investment available in technology today. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cloudflare Application Security and Performance?

One of my biggest frustrations over the past year has been the pace of change within the user interface. Cloudflare continues to add impressive capabilities, but the navigation, menu structure, and feature locations have changed frequently. As someone who uses the platform regularly, I occasionally find myself searching for settings that were previously easy to locate.

The rapid expansion of services has also increased the complexity of the platform. While this reflects Cloudflare's growth and innovation, new users may find the number of available products and configuration options somewhat overwhelming at first.

For advanced features such as Zero Trust, WAF customization, application security, and developer services, there can be a learning curve. Improved consistency in navigation and greater stability in the interface would make it easier for long-time users and administrators to adapt to new functionality.

That said, these concerns are relatively minor compared to the overall value of the platform. Most of the changes have been introduced to support new capabilities, and Cloudflare continues to be one of the most innovative and valuable technology platforms I use. "Peace of Mind for Website Security and Performance"
4/5
What do you like best about Cloudflare Application Security and Performance?

What I like most about Cloudflare is that it gives me peace of mind and doesn't require us to constantly think about website security and performance. Our church website is used for everything from finding service times and campus information to watching sermons, registering for events, and giving online, so keeping it fast and reliable is important. Cloudflare does a great job of handling a lot of the security and performance work in the background while still being relatively easy for us to manage with minimal downtime. It’s especially helpful knowing that we have protection in place even when we’re focused on the actual content and ministry side of the website. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cloudflare Application Security and Performance?

The biggest downside is that Cloudflare can feel overwhelming when you’re trying to figure out more advanced settings. There are a lot of options, and it’s not always obvious what we should or should not be using. We mostly want things to be secure, fast, and reliable without having to spend a lot of time managing the technical side of it. Once everything is set up, it works well, but getting there can take some time. We have also had a few times where the website was down because of an issue with cloudflare, but it hasn't been frequent and is normally up relatively quickly. "Simple, Secure Way to Expose Internal Services with Tunnel and Access"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Cloudflare Application Security and Performance?

What I like best is Cloudflare Tunnel. We run an always-on home-lab style server for internal tools and automations, and cloudflared lets us expose specific services to the internet without opening any inbound ports or standing up a VM, which is a big win for a small non-technical team. We also use Cloudflare Access as a zero-trust gate in front of a private internal app, allowlisted to just two email addresses, so the origin is never reachable by anyone outside that list even if the app itself has other layers of auth. Both are free-tier features and were straightforward to get running from the dashboard. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cloudflare Application Security and Performance?

The product naming and overlap between Tunnel, Access, WAF, and the broader Zero Trust / Cloudflare One suite took real research to untangle before we felt confident setting things up — we ended up reading through their docs on tunnel replicas and availability before deploying anything for real. It's also entirely on us, not Cloudflare, but the tunnel only stays up if the machine running cloudflared stays up: our host went to sleep once during a test and the tunnel (and the page behind it) silently went dark until we noticed, so anyone running this on a machine that isn't a dedicated always-on box needs to be deliberate about power settings and auto-start. "User-Friendly Security with Stellar Support"
5/5
What do you like best about Cloudflare Application Security and Performance?

I find Cloudflare Application Security and Performance extremely user-friendly. They have great online support and even AI support. It's very cost-effective, which I appreciate. The zero trust feature is what we use and value the most. It creates an easy email login security feature that allows us to specify access to specific domains or emails, ensuring that only people within our organization or those we want to have access can do so. I also like how it easily integrates with Google Workspace and ensures that only those within our Google Workspace can access certain websites and dashboards. The initial setup was a breeze, I'd rate it a 10 out of 10, with no issues, and the support was there whenever we encountered difficulties. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cloudflare Application Security and Performance?

Nothing. I have no complaints. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Security with Minor Hiccups"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Cloudflare Application Security and Performance?

I like that Cloudflare Application Security and Performance just runs in the background, and most users aren't even aware that it's there. I appreciate that it's seamless to set up and use, providing a secure environment for our AI tooling stack. The setup was super easy, and our IT team didn't have any issues, aided by the supportive Cloudflare team. We've received positive feedback from users that it isn't bothersome at all while effectively solving our security problems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cloudflare Application Security and Performance?

The only complaint we've had is that users have to manually reauthenticate Cloudflare, and it can be a bit of a hassle. Since we recently implemented it, we're still getting the authentication issues straightened out. Often, if our AI tooling isn't working, the fix will require users to manually reauthenticate their Cloudflare, which is like the one big blocker. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Centralized Security Controls with Powerful Custom Rules"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Cloudflare Application Security and Performance?

I really like how many security features we can control from one place. WAF rules, DDoS protection, rate limiting, bot controls have been very handy for our day-to-day cloud security needs. Custom rules are my favorite because we can create rules to block suspicious traffic based on URL, IP or the request itself without any changes on the application side. It can also reduce lot of manual work once rules are configured correctly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cloudflare Application Security and Performance?

Dashboard is clean. But some of the advanced settings are not very intuitive the first time you configure them. Sometimes security rules end up blocking legit traffic as well so you have to monitor logs and fine tune carefully. Few advanced bot features and security rules are locked behind higher plans. It can get costly if you are protecting many applications. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Unified edge security that eliminates SOC alert fatigue"
5/5
What do you like best about Cloudflare Application Security and Performance?

The single control plane is incredible for streamlining our incident response workflows. Cloudflare unifies comprehensive web security and performance services on a single, composable, cloud-native platform, which drastically reduces tool sprawl and alert fatigue. I frequently validate our defensive posture using various Kali Linux utilities, and it is highly impressive how quickly Cloudflare's managed WAF rulesets block simulated exploits. Furthermore, the Bot Management feature utilizes behavioral analysis and machine learning to score requests, effectively stopping automated attacks like credential stuffing and content scraping without relying on basic rate limiting. Having this level of visibility allows our team to monitor traffic and apply intelligent filtering instantly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cloudflare Application Security and Performance?

While the default managed rules are robust, writing advanced custom rules to adapt to highly specific dynamic threats requires learning Cloudflare's specific syntax. Additionally, configuring SSL interception and fine-tuning the WAF settings to minimize false positives without impacting legitimate traffic demands a significant amount of manual trial and error. Finally, exporting raw logs directly to an external SIEM for detailed forensic analysis can become quite expensive if you are capturing high volumes of traffic during a major volumetric incident. "Easy Website Security and Performanceand Performance"
4/5
What do you like best about Cloudflare Application Security and Performance?

What I like most is that it makes website security and performance easier to manage in one place. As a student working on web projects, I find the security features and performance improvements useful, especially when I want to keep a project protected without making the setup too complicated. The dashboard is also fairly easy to understand and helps me quickly check what is happening with my application. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cloudflare Application Security and Performance?

The main downside for me is that some of the security settings can take a little time to understand when you are new to Cloudflare. There are quite a few options, and it can be confusing to know which settings are best for a particular project. Clearer explanations or beginner-friendly recommendations would make the setup easier.
