It's a friendly software to catalog, collaboratively address and store responses to information requests.

**What do you dislike about CivicPlus NextRequest?**

Nothing.  The software works as expected and addresses our needs as an organization.

Our organization can catalog, collaboratively address and store all activity related to a public information request.

**What do you like best about CivicPlus NextRequest?**

Consolidates our sometimes massive quantities of records so that we can easily share the responsive records with future requesters. We're better able to keep track of what has already been shared.

**What do you dislike about CivicPlus NextRequest?**

Just like with all technologies, there are limitations. The one I've found is that my folder structure with up to 9 subfolders results in the system being unable to upload because the document names are too long - even compression of folders didn't work.

**What problems is CivicPlus NextRequest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our tracking of previous records requests was poorly organized. I felt like we were repeating ourselves too often. Countless wasted hours finding the same records over and over because the records requests were slightly different. We were unable to piggy back on the previous requests. Now, we can point the requester to all previous records releases and ask them to only request the additional documents instead of having to release the same records again. Significant decrease in staff time searching for records.

**What do you like best about CivicPlus NextRequest?**

With the ease, simplicity and convenience of receiving and completing a request online, there is really no other option or choice than to use NextRequest for all your public records needs. Just when I think, "NextRequest couldn't possibly have this (specific) feature, NextRequest surprises me and actually does!" The customer service and support staff are also very helpful and receptive to suggestions for improvements, which I love. With helpful features and a friendly team, NextRequest is one of the best (if not the best) public records requests manager out there!

**What do you dislike about CivicPlus NextRequest?**

The only thing that I dislike about NextRequest is that not everyone uses it! More people should use it--they should hire a marketing team, or hold a national summit, etc. to get the word out! 

**Recommendations to others considering CivicPlus NextRequest:**

If you need a solution to your public records needs, look no further. NextRequest is everything you could want and more.

**What problems is CivicPlus NextRequest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Time savings, easily trackable, convenient for both the requestor and responder. I like that if a person submits a similar request, we can provide them with the link to that previous request. It saves both us and the requestor so much time! Also, I appreciate the notification emails that serve reminders to us daily that a request is pending, due soon, past due, etc. It helps us track each request and holds us accountable to completing each task.

The number of notifications every day, I just need to be notified when I am the one you are waiting for on or near the due date, not every day!

Responding to massive amounts of records requests. Has completely eliminated manual dispersements of records.

**What do you like best about CivicPlus NextRequest?**

The biggest reason I would recommend NextRequest is that it streamlines all the requests that are submitted in a way that makes it easy to read them, solicit the appropriate individuals for the information, and process them for release. There’s so much less babysitting and reminding of those providing the information (because they are busy too) because they get automatic reminders.  I will just say that processing open records requests use to take up to 50 percent of my work time and now that’s about 15-20 percent of my time. The amount of saved paper is also tremendous.  It’s made a huge difference in how and where I spend my time and resources.

**What do you dislike about CivicPlus NextRequest?**

If there was one thing I would add, it would be a way to create a folder for items received from a colleague who uploaded them as all separate files. When I submit those files for release to the requestor, I have to release them separately which can unnecessarily jam their email up with separate email notifications.  Being able to bundle them up all in one file after receiving them separately through the upload process would be helpful.  I understand they are working on that feature. 

**Recommendations to others considering CivicPlus NextRequest:**

I looked at two other companies that do this same type of thing and NR was reasonably priced and offered a lot of value in what I was trying to accomplish in processing ORRs and staying compliant with law.

**What problems is CivicPlus NextRequest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have cut the time I work on ORRs by more than half, and that's valuable time I can spend on something else.

**What do you like best about CivicPlus NextRequest?**

We love how customizable everything is as well as the ease of use. It makes all of our requests easier to process and track. With multiple people in the office working on requests ease of communication is incredibly important and NextRequest makes that possible. Our customers enjoy using it as well especially the ability to pay online. 

**What do you dislike about CivicPlus NextRequest?**

We have yet to find a dislike about the system. 

**What problems is CivicPlus NextRequest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Prior to using next request we had difficulty knowing where someone else was on a request or remembering for ourselves. This system has solved that by making that information available to all of us in the office. The ability to write notes to each other as well as ourselves is incredibly helpful and makes our jobs easier.

NextRequest is a convenient location for everybody involved to do their work and helps administrators track the progress of assignments. It's very convenient to use and seems fairly easy to learn.

Nothing comes to mind that I dislike about NextRequest.

It has been very helpful and provides a central location for everybody to do their work.

NextRequest allows us to track and respond to CPRA requests in a timely manner. It allows us to go paperless.

**What do you like best about CivicPlus NextRequest?**

I particularly appreciate being able to set my preferences to get the once daily email summary showing all activity for my requests.  As a manager overseeing the requests, but not being directly involved with gathering the documents, it’s a great way for me to track deadlines. 

**What do you dislike about CivicPlus NextRequest?**

So far, I like and understand the system. Nothing to dislike. 

**What problems is CivicPlus NextRequest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

NextRequest allows me to quickly check deadlines for pending PRAs, rather than chasing down old emails.

**What do you like best about CivicPlus NextRequest?**

1) It has greatly enhanced our ability to track CPRA requests and respond in a timely manner.
2) The notifications have been very helpful to ensure that deadlines are adhered to.
3) The ability to communicate with internal system and not have to copy/paste messages, or save attachments to send is a great productivity tool.
4) Being able to see how other departments responded to similar requests allows for consistency throughout the City.

**What do you dislike about CivicPlus NextRequest?**

In order to view requests for my department, I need to filter from the entire organization universe of requests. Once in a specific request, I need to re-filter to go to the list of department-specific requests. 

**Recommendations to others considering CivicPlus NextRequest:**

The number of requests for information that the organization receives should be reviewed while considering this product. This has been very helpful for our large organization. 

**What problems is CivicPlus NextRequest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There has been great work flow improvements in responding to CPRAs as well as clearer identification of staff responsible for responding.

NextRequest streamlined our public disclosure process and has robust JLARC compliant reporting.

**What do you dislike about CivicPlus NextRequest?**

I have not experienced any issues using NextRequest.

**What problems is CivicPlus NextRequest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are solving our public disclosure request tracking and audit issues. We are also saving a significant amount of time because all of our responses are automated.

**What do you like best about CivicPlus NextRequest?**

It is very easy to use. Keeps track of everything all in one spot. Redaction tool is very helpful. It makes processing requests more efficiently and quickly. Has made responding to requests easier for all departments involved. Prevents people from requesting records already available on the town's website. Keeps all documents in one location to help with responding to future requests or to allow public viewing. 

**What do you dislike about CivicPlus NextRequest?**

No complaints so far. Have not had any problems. No problems with setup. No problems with training. 

**Recommendations to others considering CivicPlus NextRequest:**

If you process a lot of OPRA requests then this is the program for you. 

**What problems is CivicPlus NextRequest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Time management for requests, getting departments to respond to requests quickly, tracking requests more efficiently, proper redaction of records. We now respond to requests more quickly.

**What do you like best about CivicPlus NextRequest?**

Having all communications with requesters in one place with date/time data is great to see and retrieve chronological exchanges regarding the request.  

**What do you dislike about CivicPlus NextRequest?**

Can't import an entire folder of documents at once.  Can mulit-select and import, but not an entire existing folder from another source.

**What problems is CivicPlus NextRequest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The data that can be extracted is valuable to track time spent by individual staff members.
