Charms Office Assistant is just "okay" **Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2021 **What do you like best about Charms Office Assistant?** Charms has several great features for youth music programs like bands, orchestras, and chorus programs. A great "database" for student records includes parent contact information, instruments, school information, etc.. It also allows us to track volunteer information , including their background check status. Student fee management is also good, and allows online payment through paypal. **What do you dislike about Charms Office Assistant?** Recently, they "upgraded" their "skin". While some of it is good, they have been slow to incorporate some needed features, causing us to flip back and forth between the old version and the new. The "accounting" system is great for a booster club but not for an actual nonprofit. The only accounting we do on charms is recording student fees and fundraisers. **What problems is Charms Office Assistant solving and how is that benefiting you?** Having a cloud-based database of students info that can be accessed by our conducting and administrative staff. ### 2. These can be scanned to take attendance, check documents in or out, and more. Charms can also keep contact information, help maintain a library of documents in an organized/numerical manner, and provide a calendar for important work-related events. **What do you dislike about Charms Office Assistant?** I dislike that sometimes the system bugs, causing numbers to be double assigned to documents or people. However, it notifies you when this happens. Sometimes the barcodes are not super sensitive, but usually they work just fine. **Recommendations to others considering Charms Office Assistant:** I would highly recommend that people using Charms keep track of the last number they used to categorize a piece of music or instrument, such that you can easily input the next one you get as a new item without having to search through the system for the last number that Charms assigned you. **What problems is Charms Office Assistant solving and how is that benefiting you?** It has helped me keep track of enormous music libraries to manage multiple ensembles. With many musicians, instruments, and music scores to keep track of, Charms makes all of this easy. Using the numerical system it imposes for these categories, it is easy to enter either the number/barcode/name/or any basic information (key words) about what you are looking for, and Charms will find it. It also allows someone to quickly rebook an hour or select an option if none of the times it was sent works with their availability. **What do you dislike about Charms Office Assistant?** The application does not have the ability to customize the theme or styles of the meetings. It would be good to allow users to choose among a set of themes to better adapt to the brand of their company. **Recommendations to others considering Charms Office Assistant:** You can customize the meeting settings, but only send options for 3 days at a time. In my opinion, this is really useful because it simplifies the selection experience for our clients to choose a schedule before. **What problems is Charms Office Assistant solving and how is that benefiting you?** It allows us to quickly send the customer's links to our availability, where they can choose the moment in which they wish to book and ensure that time interval directly in an email. It provides a comfortable and simple experience for our clients and saves our team's programming time. ### 4. From what I can tell it has all of the features needed from finance to communications. It is a fairly easy way to submit recordings and information. **What do you dislike about Charms Office Assistant?** I find it confusing to use as a family. It starts out that I have to remember the school code to get in. I find the security odd that it identifies a user with their password alone. So there isn't a difference between a parent and a student. If you have more than one student it gets more complex. The reporting on finances also can be confusing to see what is actually owed. **Recommendations to others considering Charms Office Assistant:** Take it for a spin with a small group before rolling it out everywhere. **What problems is Charms Office Assistant solving and how is that benefiting you?** It is a tool that is used to handle the communications, events, calendaring and administration of a group, such as a band or choir. ### 6. It is also so user friendly. Both people accessing to put info in, and people looking to send info out can easily follow the clicking instructions to send out messages and Indic effectively. **What do you dislike about Charms Office Assistant?** I don’t think there is too much to dislike. If anything, I would say that you must group things together to keep everything in order and easy to find. So it’s uo to you how organized things are. **Recommendations to others considering Charms Office Assistant:** This product is easy to use and great for organizing groups of people. **What problems is Charms Office Assistant solving and how is that benefiting you?** Easily being able to send mass communications out to large groups of people. Also being able to have things and people organized very specifically into accessible groups. ### 7.
