I like the ease of working with Camtasia. I didn't have to do a lot of reading or step-by-step instruction since I've already used other programs, like Adobe Creative. Everything was right there on the panel, and it's great to work with. Camtasia makes it easier for me to put together both audio and video with other programs like Photoshop or PowerPoint into one major presentation without doing a lot of editing. It makes everything pretty easy and seamless in one application. Additionally, I found the initial setup very easy and self-explanatory, with guided videos just in case something didn't install correctly. Since I'm a freelance graphic worker and educator, I appreciate that Camtasia allows me to do as much as possible in one presentation at one time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Camtasia? It looks like each time they upgrade Camtasia, they're solving their own problems. There have been buffering problems. There have been problems where I do a video and there's no sound or the video stops and the audio keeps going. There's also been times where when I finally do the end product of putting together a video, it didn't capture everything, and sometimes it doesn't even produce the end video. The one thing that can be improved is a little bit more, livelier visualization. A little bit more towards a brighter video. Sometimes Camtasia tends to emulate things a bit dark, and a little bit more stereo in the audio, but those are little minor things, which I know they're improving. Easy to use palettes/tabs, it is much more refined than adobe's interface Integration w/ SnagIt I create 20-30 vids of various length per month; sometimes 45-60secs on how-to stuff, sometimes purging down meetings and live Q&As that go too long. Fantastic screencapture setup ... I used this 3-4x per week. Great seminars and trainings. I attend as many as possible, even when they are basic/101 level classes b/c I always learn something new. At previous jobs, I have had the whole Assets packet, which provides endless options and combinations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What problems is Camtasia solving and how is that benefiting you? Just In Time usage - - I primarily use it to make short (30-60sec) vids for our in-app support suite. Users with questions about our SAP software/processes never have to leave SAP to find an answer. When we do roll-outs (net new functionality to differing regions/audiences), I can attend the live Q&A sessions, see what is most commonly asked, and often come up with a short vid or a GIF to give them the answer by the end of the session. Longer Form vids - - Usually 2-5mins, they are more like a video job aid or QRG. Longest vids I take live training sessions, pare down the fluff (intros, sidebars, tangents) and host it internally. Then I can get my comms person to list out the latest video recap of the sessions. We do quick turnaround; if training ends at 7pm EST, I try to have the recap built and have the link ready for the outgoing comms that send at 0700 the NEXT DAY! I use Camtasia mainly for creating training in the protective services industry. I appreciate its increased efficiency, especially when utilizing Camtasia Pro with its numerous assets. I find it to be a great video editor equipped with all the "bells and whistles." I love that it accepts content in numerous file types and works seamlessly with Audiate. The fact that I can easily load any type of video into Camtasia and enhance it with a multitude of tools and features is fantastic. I also appreciate Audiate's text to AI voice feature, which speeds up creating quality training by eliminating the need for multiple takes and manual editing. What do you dislike about Camtasia? Every once in a while the application will suddenly close in the middle of working on a training video, but it's a rare event.
