Sadly, Camtasia's premium features are now available only to those willing to purchase a recurring subscription. I even called to see if I could bolt on Audiate and maintain my one-time user license, but that isn't the case. I understand recurring revenue and SAAS is kind of the way to go for tech companies, but I was really sad to be a long-time user who has purchased multiple licenses and maintenance agreements over the years, as well as promoting the product and getting other licensed users for them, only to be told that my past purchases didn't really matter, and the only way to have access to the "new and best" of Camtasia was to become a subscriber. I'll still use my last purchased license of Camtasia, but it is likely there are other products that would meet my needs, have the premium features I am looking for, and cost less, when the time comes to upgrade.
