"Simple, transparent, and built for founders"
What do you like best about Cake Equity?

I’ve been using Cake for over a year and even got the chance to meet the team. The onboarding modules are excellent, clear, quick, and easy to follow. The product makes managing equity, SAFEs, and option plans painless. I like how everything is structured to help founders stay compliant and investor-ready without needing extra tools or spreadsheets. The support team is fast and friendly, which makes a big difference. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cake Equity?

There’s a slight learning curve when setting up advanced equity plans, and some reports could be more customizable. But overall, these are minor issues compared to the value the platform delivers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive, User-Friendly, and Excellent Support"
What do you like best about Cake Equity?

I appreciate Cake Equity's intuitive and user-friendly design, making it easy to use even without extensive onboarding. The competitive pricing compared to industry peers is a big plus, and their exceptional customer support, highlighted by frequent and engaging interactions, really stands out. The seamless setup process, despite our complex initial data, demonstrated their capability to handle complexity and deliver smooth functionality. Their explainer videos and supportive app enhance usability, offering a comprehensive solution to equity management challenges. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cake Equity?

I felt initial concerns about the platform's stability as it seemed more like a web app and not as sturdy as other platforms like Capital, Astrella, or Carta, which feel more similar to banking apps in reliability. This concern was about the potential risk of the platform shutting down or vanishing. Additionally, while Cake is user-friendly, there was a lack of long-standing reliability initially, although these concerns were addressed after speaking with the Cake team. Another downside I see is the pricing scheme; it's somewhat deceptive because, while starting off competitively priced, it eventually requires additional costs for more features, making it comparable to the market rate. As more features are needed, the costs increase significantly, somewhat undermining the initial attractiveness of the basic plan. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Elise Peate of Cake Equity

Karan, thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed review. I’m glad our setup process, support, and resources made things easier for you—especially with a complex cap table. I also hear your concerns about pricing as companies scale, and we’ll keep working to build trust and deliver clear value.
