**What do you like best about Buried Wins?**

We brought Buried Wins in for the business line with our hardest-to-reach audience, and they were handed a genuinely tricky situation: a niche audience, contacts who are difficult to get ahold of, and regulatory limits that meant we couldn't directly or monetarily incentivize anyone to participate. None of it fazed them. They brought creativity to outreach and stayed flexible about how to get interviewees on the phone, including using AI search tools to source contacts beyond our own pool and finding legally permissible incentives to drive participation (in one case, buying pizza for an interviewee's team).

Their methodologies, interviewer expertise, and collaborative style are what keep us coming back. Working with them on objectives and scope feels like a true partnership — they bring business expertise to the room and set guardrails on what will actually produce useful insight based on what we need to learn. And even though they're a service provider, they built an application to interface with the findings and were proactive about connecting it to Claude so we could run deeper analysis against our internal datasets. They iterate and improve constantly.

**What do you dislike about Buried Wins?**

Honestly, very little. One thing I'd love to see is more range in interview options. Specifically, an AI-assisted, lower-cost tier for shorter, focused interviews (10 minutes or less?) targeting a specific research question rather than a full win/loss study, with the transcript or recording as the core deliverable. That would make it easier to spin up quick, targeted research between larger engagements.

**Recommendations to others considering Buried Wins:**

Consider what's important to you: 1) how much time you have to invest in the program vs let the partner handle. In our case, time was limited and Buried Wins took on the bulk of work for sourcing, outreach, all interview facilitation, before providing in depth executive reporting. 

2) The nature of your audience. When you have a tough-to-reach audience, a partner like Buried Wins will bring acumen and creativity to the outreach methodology. 

3) Internal expectations from the research data. In our case, as the program evolved, pulling the research transcripts and insights into our Claude instance for as-needed reporting became higher priority and Buried Wins was on the ball about providing that MCP connection.

**What problems is Buried Wins solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Buried Wins for win/loss research and competitive intelligence that feeds our PMM motion and overall business strategy. 

Buried Wins helps us understand why we win and lose deals and who we're losing to, map the SWOT of our main competitors, and find pipeline by getting intel directly from buyers. One standout: their research surfaced that a core integration was a true competitive differentiator — part of the market was buying specifically because of it. That sharpened our messaging, informed our roadmap, and showed up in product prioritization and pipeline growth.

The quality and depth of insights are exceptional. Unlike software platforms that just aggregate data, Buried Wins acts as a true partner—investing time with our teams to understand our objectives and deliver truly actionable intelligence. The structured process is efficient, and we receive transcripts and weekly video highlights, which keeps us engaged throughout. The video clips of actual buyers discussing our strengths and weaknesses are incredibly powerful for internal alignment. Their founder's deep B2B product marketing expertise shows in every deliverable—these aren't generic reports that sit on a shelf; they're immediately actionable recommendations that drive real GTM improvements.

**What do you dislike about Buried Wins?**

Honestly, very little. If anything, I wish we had engaged them sooner. The only minor consideration is that because this is high-touch consulting rather than a self-service platform, it requires coordination and commitment from our internal teams during the interview and analysis phases. However, this 'limitation' is actually what makes the service so valuable—their hands-on approach ensures quality and relevance that software alone can't provide.

The biggest differentiator is their ability to reach buyers beyond your existing customer base. We evaluated other options, but Buried Wins was uniquely positioned to speak with both people in our pipeline and the audiences we wanted to grow into. They interviewed a mix of closed-won customers, closed-lost opportunities, and target personas we had not previously engaged. That broader perspective made the findings significantly more actionable than a traditional win-loss program. The buyer quotes and insights were detailed enough to use directly in product, messaging, and GTM discussions.

I don't have any major criticisms. Like any research engagement, the value depends on having clear objectives and being willing to act on the findings. The team delivered high-quality insights and a process that was easy to work with.

**What do you like best about Buried Wins?**

The thing I appreciated most about Buried Wins was that it felt like a true partnership, not a vendor engagement. As a small boutique agency, we got direct access to Drew and the team,  there was no junior account manager filtering communication, no rigid playbook being applied to us. Every conversation was substantive and tailored to where we actually were in our B2B journey.

That hands-on approach really paid off during our pilot. Win/loss work isn't always linear, sometimes you start interviews and realize you need to adjust the target list, sharpen the questions, or lean harder into a specific segment that's surfacing interesting signals. Buried Wins was nimble enough to pivot in real time, whereas a larger firm would have stuck rigidly to the original scope of work. They treated our success like it was their own.

I'd also call out the quality of the synthesis. They didn't just hand us a transcript dump, they distilled the interviews into clear themes and recommendations we could actually act on. For an early-stage B2B motion that was still figuring itself out, that combination of attentiveness, flexibility, and sharp analysis was exactly what we needed.

Two things. First, as a boutique agency, scaling can be a constraint, bandwidth gets tight if you're trying to run multiple programs in parallel or move at a faster pace. Second, there's no self-serve portal for on-demand access to interview data, transcripts, or themes between scheduled deliverables. Having a dashboard to pull insights as the engagement progresses would be a great addition. Both feel like natural growing pains for a small, high-touch firm rather than dealbreakers.

During my time at Canva, our B2B motion was just getting off the ground after a successful B2C run, and we were looking for real insight into our closed-won and closed-lost deals. We wanted to get better and smarter as a sales org to understand what was working, what wasn't, and where we needed to improve.

Internally, you can only learn so much from CRM data and your own pipeline notes. Prospects and customers will tell a neutral third party things they'd never share with the vendor directly, I'd seen that pattern work really well at other companies, which is exactly why we brought in Buried Wins. Drew was a former colleague and the first person I thought of for the engagement.

He ran win/loss interviews with our prospects and customers, synthesized the findings into a clear written analysis, and delivered concrete recommendations to our sales leadership team. The insights were genuinely actionable -  one of the biggest unlocks was realizing we shouldn't be selling into IT. We needed to broaden the buyer profile and expand the use cases we led with. That single shift changed how the team pitched, qualified, and handled objections going forward.

From initial engagement to project discovery, stakeholder management, and delivery, they provide exceptional service. I appreciate how specialized they are in Win/Loss programs, focusing solely on what they excel at. Their ongoing support across multiple regions and the Voice of Customer reports are also valuable. Buried Wins played a crucial role in helping us test core GTM assumptions as we aimed to scale our revenue, which was critical for segmentation strategies across different market segments.
