&lt;p&gt;Ideally, translation shouldn’t trail the release at all. I’d want new strings detected as part of the development workflow, translated while the feature is still moving toward production, and synced back before release. For teams shipping weekly, I’d measure the percentage of releases where localized copy ships simultaneously with the source language rather than just average translation turnaround time.&lt;/p&gt;
