Discovery at least helps us keep the CMDB up to date and we leverage allot off the CMDB from change requests, to managing password controls to accounts on each server to scaling. I think people underestimate the power of having Discovery in a large environment. The other nice thing with BMC Discovery is once its running, there is so little admin behind it that once you have set it up you really can just leave it to run, provided your recon jobs are setup correctly. The other time we really do work on the server is when we need to patch it to keep the version up to date. ### 42.
