Bluebeam is the most powerful .pdf editor with CAD-like tools for markups, redlines, and take-offs, as well as powerful project document control features to run massive projects and keep teams aligned with the most current drawings and documents. It can handle lots of different file types and users generally can hit the ground running with the intuitive features and toolsets. It's extremely stable and responsive. Price is reasonable and customer support and training tutorials are readily available. Customizable toolsets help tailor the software to our specific needs. Bluebeam has been a powerful, highly useful tool in our office. It’s played a key role in streamlining our project workflows and helping us work through several persistent process issues. When dealing with large or complex plan sets, they tend to load slowly, especially 300–500‑page architectural or civil PDFs. We sometimes experience freezes, long rendering times, and needing to split drawings into smaller files just to keep working. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Bluebeam makes my job as an estimator and project manager for a welding and fabrication shop much easier. My biggest frustration is figuring out how to build a custom AISC toolbox for working with structural steel shapes. As a metal fabrication estimator and project manager, I’d like an easier way to set up tools for beams, channels, angles, and tubing. The only downside I find with Bluebeam happens to be another one of its strengths, and that there are just so many tools that I'm still discovering after 6 years of using it. What I like best about Bluebeam Revu is how well it's built for drawing-based collaboration rather than general document handling. Studio Sessions stand out in particular — being able to markup drawings in real time with contractors and other trades, instead of emailing redlines back and forth, has noticeably sped up our project coordination and cut down on version-control confusion. Combined with the Sets and hyperlinking features for navigating large multi-sheet drawing packages, Revu feels purpose-built for construction and facility work in a way that Adobe Acrobat simply isn't. My main critiques are the higher per-seat licensing cost compared to Acrobat and a learning curve for some of the more advanced features (custom tool sets, Spaces, batch functions). It's an easy interface, quick to understand with all tools and options at one place. It can be integrated with excel, word and other image tools. The performance is great without any lags and does not hang even when working on heavy files. The support team of Bluebeam is very helpful and responsive.
