BlackRidge Institute Reviews & Provider Details

BlackRidge Institute is a U.S.-based leadership development and measurement firm specializing in leadership readiness, manager effectiveness, and leadership transitions. We combine leadership assessment with targeted leadership training to help organizations prepare first-time managers, develop experienced leaders, and strengthen succession pipelines. Strong performance in one role does not automatically prepare someone for the next. BlackRidge helps organizations close that gap by identifying what new responsibilities require, assessing development needs, and building the leadership capabilities that matter in the workplace. Our solutions support CHROs, Chief People Officers, human resources teams, learning and development (L&D) leaders, talent development professionals, and executive sponsors across corporate, federal, defense, and public sector organizations. We help buyers address new manager development, supervisor training, executive development, succession planning, and the leadership challenges that affect team performance and employee retention. Our Four Leadership Transitions framework provides a focused development path for each change in responsibility: - SHIFT: First-time manager training and frontline leadership development for individual contributors moving into leadership and supervisors learning to lead their teams. - ARENA: Manager development for leaders responsible for other managers, with a focus on accountability, delegation, and achieving results through leaders. - ASCENT: Senior leadership development for functional leaders taking on broader organizational responsibility and leading across functions. - EDGE: Executive leadership development for senior leaders making decisions for the enterprise as a whole. The Leadership Readiness Diagnostic (LRD) is our multi-rater leadership assessment platform, measuring readiness across 24 behaviorally anchored dimensions. It helps identify development priorities against the demands of a specific leadership transition. Organizations can use these insights to guide individual development plans, focus leadership training, and inform succession development discussions. The LRD supports human judgment and can complement existing talent assessments and 360-degree feedback processes. Founded by retired U.S. Air Force Command Chief Dan Stoutamire following 29 years of military service, BlackRidge brings the discipline of readiness to leadership development: understand the responsibility ahead, develop the capabilities it requires, and measure progress. Our approach draws on published leadership research, with working papers shared openly on SSRN so buyers can examine the thinking behind our methods. BlackRidge Institute is an SBA-certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), supporting federal and defense buyers through applicable set-aside and sole-source contracting opportunities. Prepare leaders for the responsibility ahead—with focused development, practical application, and evidence of progress.
