Is Billtrust free, or does it offer a free trial?

No. According to G2 data, Billtrust does not offer a free plan or free trial. Users need to purchase a paid plan to access the product. Visit the seller's official pricing page for current pricing details and plan options.

Who is Billtrust pricing best suited for?

Billtrust's pricing is best suited for mid-market and enterprise organizations with high-volume accounts receivable operations. G2 reviewers from enterprise segments across accounting, manufacturing, logistics, facilities services, and wholesale industries report the strongest value, particularly for teams processing hundreds of daily invoices or checks. Mid-market reviewers in accounting, construction, and pharmaceuticals also report meaningful efficiency gains. G2 reviews of Billtrust indicate smaller businesses can benefit from invoice automation and payment portals, but the custom-quote model and modular cost structure favor organizations with budget and complexity to justify the investment. AR teams seeking to reduce manual cash application, shorten DSO, and automate collections workflows are the clearest fit.

What are the key differences between the free and paid versions of Billtrust?

Billtrust offers no free tier or free trial based on G2's pricing data for Billtrust. Billtrust's pricing is structured around custom enterprise quotes, meaning all access is paid and scoped to organizational needs. G2 reviewers indicate Billtrust's paid plans cover modular capabilities including invoice delivery, cash application, collections, credit management, and online payment portals. Reviewers note that additional modules such as the collections piece or machine learning enhancements may carry separate costs. One G2 reviewer explicitly flagged that certain enhancements expected as standard required additional fees. Prospective buyers should expect negotiated, usage-based contracts rather than self-serve tiers with published pricing.

Is Billtrust considered good value for its pricing?

G2 reviewers rate Billtrust at 4.5/5 overall, signaling strong satisfaction relative to cost. Recurring themes across G2 reviews include significant time savings from cash application automation, reduced DSO, eliminated postage and print costs, and staff reallocation to higher-value tasks. One G2 reviewer in utilities reported tripling billing output while cutting labor costs. However, cost concerns surface in isolated reviews: one wholesale reviewer flagged that enhancements assumed to be included carried extra charges, and a retail reviewer noted pricing as "a bit expensive." An automotive reviewer flagged a "nickel and dimed" perception around add-on costs. For mid-market and enterprise AR teams, G2 data on Billtrust's pricing suggests strong ROI justification.

"Unified Platform with Intuitive Interface but Invoicing Challenges"
5/5
What do you like best about Billtrust?

I appreciate Billtrust's role as a unified and easily searchable repository, allowing me to quickly retrieve PDF copies of invoices using just the account number or invoice number. Its intuitive interface makes navigating through Accounts Receivable functions seamless, especially for tasks like invoice retrieval and payment processing. The platform's multi-channel invoice delivery and customer payment portal significantly streamline the payment process, addressing the challenge of slow manual payment processing and facilitating efficient online payments. Additionally, I value Billtrust's ability to connect invoicing, payment acceptance, cash application, and collections into a single, integrated platform. This end-to-end automation eliminates data silos and reduces manual reconciliation efforts, enhancing my workflow and contributing positively to my role at Iron Mountain. What do you dislike about Billtrust?

I encountered a significant challenge tied to the configuration of partial payment in Billtrust. The system occasionally treats and displays partially paid invoices as fully closed in the customer's portal and internal records when a customer makes a partial payment. This creates a significant downstream problem for customer service as it often assumes the transaction is complete and suppresses or archives the document. This issue makes it difficult to retrieve the necessary documents quickly, hindering efficient service and communication with customers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"While BillTrust is excellent at some functions, they fail miserably at others."

What do you like best about Billtrust?

They were great at the initial implementation, working with our accelerated timeline. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Billtrust?

Very slow to respond to problems, with some problems acknowledged, but still unresolved nearly a year later. One particular problem (reports of failed emails) continues to become a 'new' problem periodically.

Enhancements that we thought were part of the original package are costly to implement.

Changes are taking too much time to implement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
