In addition, being a small company, BigSIS really does provide great customer service. They are friendly, fast to respond, and help you get the question or problem resolved quickly. **What do you dislike about BigSIS?** Being a small company can also mean that their new products or major product improvements can be difficult to release on time. **Recommendations to others considering BigSIS:** Give BigSIS a chance. For our smaller school, it has been a great product from a great company with great support. **What problems is BigSIS solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have a great workflow from inquiry to admissions to enrollment to graduate to alumni and donator. All of this is done with one tool and at a reasonable cost for a small school. ### 2. We aren't your standard school, we work directly with districts within our state to ensure students receive an education tailored to their needs. Because of the way our school runs, we needed customization that BigSIS implemented before we were up and running. **What do you dislike about BigSIS?** Sometimes the out of the box features don't mesh with our School, but we realize that is because we have a different business model than 99% of our sister schools. **What problems is BigSIS solving and how is that benefiting you?** We were strictly using Google Docs before implementing BigSIS - the benefits have been great. Everyone has access to the information they need at the click of a button. We are continuing to find ways to improve our school with their workflows. ### 3. Having one integrated system to house all our data has been a game changer. ### 4. The customer service is outstanding: reliable, responsive, and knowledgeable. BigSIS has integrated the work I do as registrar and office manager with the work of the others in the school's administration, and is fast becoming the "go-to" place for parent resources as well. BigSIS developers are open to suggestions and are constantly working to make this already wonderful database even more useful. We are so happy to be growing our database use alongside BigSIS! **What do you dislike about BigSIS?** I'm confident that anything I dislike is being taken into consideration by the good folks at BigSIS. BigSIS is very open to hearing suggestions for improvement and is as responsive to these as could possibly be expected. **What problems is BigSIS solving and how is that benefiting you?** BigSIS is providing a "one stop" platform for parents, teachers, administration, admissions, and development. This integration is extremely useful to all involved. ### 6. The ability to have many 'tabs' open at once in multiple areas of the application is really handy, so the user doesn't have to move out of and then back into different areas is a real time saver. Also, as admin, being able to actually 'be' a user and see exactly what they see is an great tool for assisting users. **What do you dislike about BigSIS?** There is some functionality that we could use that isn't implemented in BigSIS. For instance, printing reports for a class and having it come out on one page, not a new page for each student, would be good, as would being able to specify an advisor for a program/grade and have them see only that grade (even if the course is covers multiple programs/grades. We would also like to print a calendar of events. **Recommendations to others considering BigSIS:** I would highly recommend BigSIS to others considering it. I would recommend some familiarity with the product before/with the training, and do actually think the training could start off at a more basic level and/or there should be a training for users that are now a year in, so really beef up their understanding and knowledge. **What problems is BigSIS solving and how is that benefiting you?** Transcripts are now done super fast and reliably - before BigSIS it took a long time and there was ample opportunity for error. Student records and tracking are great. Love that we can give students a percentage of full credit for a class. ### 7. The importing of our information at the beginning was relatively easy **What do you dislike about BigSIS?** Some functions are clumsy & take time. Attendance could be done using a form similar to the teacher’s monthly attendance sheet and it would save the attendance people a lot of time. Parents are asking us for a phone app **What problems is BigSIS solving and how is that benefiting you?** Saves our admin so much time. Things like mid and end of year reports are done in a few hours instead of weeks. ### 8. In particular, their leadership and development teams are simply first rate, and provide us great confidence that any issues will be swiftly and appropriately resolved. **What do you dislike about BigSIS?** We haven't experienced any issues of concern. **Recommendations to others considering BigSIS:** Their development team is fantastic. **What problems is BigSIS solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are using BigSIS for narrative review, and their development team was able to add the key functionality we needed in order to replace our antiquated system. ### 9. The export features are deep. Progress Reports can be easily customized. **What do you dislike about BigSIS?** Custom filters have a learning curve but easy to use once setup. **What problems is BigSIS solving and how is that benefiting you?** Moving to BigSIS helped our progress report workflow, improved access to data, allowed us to easily synchronize/export to other systems. ### 10. Many teachers (and admin) do not have time to look up information "one student at a time." They ask for lists and simple reports. Some of the reports we need cannot be done in BigSis, so we need to work around that. **What problems is BigSIS solving and how is that benefiting you?** BigSis has made it easier for teachers to write student reports and for us to share the reports with parents. Compared to our old system, BigSis is better in this area. ### 11.
