A PALM/PLM/NX Share for Siemens NX, CAx, CAD, FEM/CFD, CAM, Teamcenter, PLM. A NX Share is a way to customize and share a version of NX, which is a software application used for computer-aided design, engineering, simulation and manufacturing. It allows a team or multiple teams within a company to access and use a customized version of NX that has been modified to meet their specific needs. By keeping the customized version of NX in a webdrive, it is easy for team members to access and use the modified version of the software from any location. The batch file is used to start NX, and the UGS Environment variables are used to specify the locations of the files in the NX Share. This enables team members to use the customized version of NX without having to manually configure the software each time they use it. ## AVNL Share Reviews ### 1. This eliminates the process whereby each of the team members is required to install the software on his or her computer. **What do you dislike about AVNL Share?** Where I’m left unsatisfied with AVNL Share is the level of version control which is not so sophisticated. There is a challenge in being able to make certain modifications while having the ability to rolling back to the prior versions. **What problems is AVNL Share solving and how is that benefiting you?** With AVNL Share, we are able to set up common, project-related ones that everyone can simply retrieve easily. This has helped us in facilitating our work flow and enhance our performance as a team. ### 2. It does away with the use of large and cumbersome project files and makes sure that everyone is working off the same version. **What do you dislike about AVNL Share?** Version control appears to be insufficiently implemented in AVNL Share. Versions are hard to track when working on the shared version as well as Switching between versions in the shared version is not an easy process. **What problems is AVNL Share solving and how is that benefiting you?** AVNL Share addresses a gap of how the user can simply share certain version NX files with other people. It avoids confusion about which release you or your team members are currently editing, for example, the v2 version. ### 3. I can then distribute different variants of the software to the employees which mean that everyone gets what they need to perform their tasks. **What do you dislike about AVNL Share?** I have identified that AVNL Share lacks adequate tools when it comes to versioning. It does not have a record of changes made within in the above mentioned versions. **What problems is AVNL Share solving and how is that benefiting you?** The elimination of this hassle is done by AVNL Share since it offers a central place to access and share custom NX configurations more conveniently.
