Lack of advanced rendering capabilities: While ArtiosCAD offers powerful structural design tools, it may not be the best choice for creating highly-detailed or photorealistic renderings of packaging designs. Users may need to use additional software to achieve these types of visuals. **What problems is ArtiosCAD solving and how is that benefiting you?** it is benifical for the corrugated board and pacakaging design. ArtiosCAD allows users to create 2D and 3D designs using a variety of tools and features, such as templates, libraries of standard packaging styles, parametric design, and structural design analysis. The software also offers features for creating virtual prototypes, generating production-ready files, and managing design revisions and approvals. ### 2. The only advantage I see Artios CAD having over other CAD software - at least the ones I'm familiar with: SolidWorks, ANSYS, Creo - is that you draw in 2D but can also visualize in 3D. Unlike SolidWorks, where you'd first create the box in 3D and then flatten it into 2D; also if you design something with a sharp bend SolidWorks may not like it and not flatten. Artios CAD allows users to bend the corners to their intended positions. **What do you dislike about ArtiosCAD?** Outside of Packaging, you really wouldn't use Artios CAD. Because of this, I don't believe it's commonly taught in undergrad programs; at least, it wasn't taught at mine. It was complicated to get used to. There are 2-3 things that I hate. The first is the fact that when I draw a line or rectangle, I click for one point or corner, then move to the next place, click for the next point or corner, and am done, at least I should be, but I have to click multiple times for it to actually place that 2nd point or corner. Two, tieing into my first complaint, once the line or rectangle is created, I can't define and/or change its dimensions using the measuring tool. Instead, the correct way to define its dimensions is to go to the bottom left corner outside the drawing area and set the dimensions, confusing new users. Finally, once the first line or rectangle is created, if I was to draw another one Artios CAD forces the user to start from the final point or corner of the previous line or rectangle. Discovering the short-key - Q, I believe - to draw from a different starting place took so long. Overall, I don't feel that Artios CAD is very user freindly, especially to new users. **What problems is ArtiosCAD solving and how is that benefiting you?** I'm unaware if the problems with Artios CAD are being worked on; maybe on a newer version, but most likely not the version I've used. If Artios CAD is updated to be more user-friendly and intuitive, correcting the problems I previously discussed, then that will be a benefit for all users. ### 3. It s great that you can take that dieline and create a 3D image to help visualize what it will look like folded up. **What do you dislike about ArtiosCAD?** While the 3D view is helpful, it is also a bit clunkly. It would be nice to be able to roate, pan, etc. Without having to click on the camera tool. That way you could stay on the tool you actually need. **What problems is ArtiosCAD solving and how is that benefiting you?** Great at taking dielines and folding them so you can visualize. it also has great tools for easily creating dielines and editing them. The standards are also great. ### 4. Or you can utilize the log of preloaded templates to start from a design idea you have in mind and tweak dimensions to fit the product you will be packaging. 3D side of the program it very useful as well for visualizing your design and how it will be manufactured and assembled. **What do you dislike about ArtiosCAD?** It can be expensive for many seats and the 3D portion typically costs more, I believe it should come with the program as that is very useful for people getting into the packaging space that typically use Artios. **What problems is ArtiosCAD solving and how is that benefiting you?** Dieline creation. ArtiosCAD makes it easy to use templates or base starting points to tweak dimensions off of standard designs to help kick off designing phases and show examples of work that is able to be completed. ### 5. This is the only software that you show how your structure is built step by step. And the best part is that ArtiosCAD has a list of the materials built-in on the software (e.g. thickness, inner loss, outer loss of each material) that a designer can use with their projects, **What do you dislike about ArtiosCAD?** Controls on the 3Dversion - roving around the structure is too difficult when you're not used to it. Shortcuts, AutoCAD shortcuts are super-friendly users that ArtiosCAD must also develop. **What problems is ArtiosCAD solving and how is that benefiting you?** Every material already has a format for how much it is lost when folded. How much their overall size increases when folded? The best thing is that you don't have to inspect the actual material to see how much you use/increase or decrease from the overall size of the structure, which relies on the thickness or type of material. ### 6. Which makes it cool for better presentation for the consumer. **What do you dislike about ArtiosCAD?** There is nothing I guess that I dislike about artioscad as it is having best tools for accurate designing, 3D view gives us better visualisation of the package. **What problems is ArtiosCAD solving and how is that benefiting you?** I used to wrok on corel draw for mono cartons designing, which was good but had issues with die cut registrations and measurements which caused more wastage and improper cutting. While artios is specifically used for package designing, it shows howmany ups will fit on a single die and also shows the usage and wastage percentage. Which i think id grwat and an absolute solution for better profit ### 7. Standards are extremely useful and more can be modified or created for specific cases. **What do you dislike about ArtiosCAD?** relations such as coincident points are not well preserved when exporting to a new programs. Also horizontal and vertical must be defined by zero angling rather than snapping. **What problems is ArtiosCAD solving and how is that benefiting you?** Dieline creation for rapid prototyping on a cam table. ### 8. I think because of its ease, I was able to learn it very quickly. **What do you dislike about ArtiosCAD?** Some of the tools weren't as straightforward and I didn't know where to input certain units. After I figured it out, it was easy to use. **What problems is ArtiosCAD solving and how is that benefiting you?** Artios CAD allowed for the designs of packaging, at least from my experience. There is a wide variety and function well out of the gate. You can also program your own options as well as use the 2D function for cross platforms. **What do you dislike about ArtiosCAD?** The current 3D option is somewhat lacking. The rotating functions are awkward. You can export and .stp file and reupload in Solidworks, which works very well, though. **Recommendations to others considering ArtiosCAD:** There are plenty of commands prompts you can enter in that will come in handy later when using Artios more. **What problems is ArtiosCAD solving and how is that benefiting you?** I work at a design lab, so utilizing Artios is a necessity and works perfectly with our current cutting table. ### 20. It is very easy to create a box by just giving reauired dimension. Converting 2D to 3D is amazing one. **What do you dislike about ArtiosCAD?** Sometimes application get stuck and takes time to become normal. Confusion in deciding crease line position is solved using this application.. During manual calculation we got so many confusion in fixing crease position to bring exact outer dimension.
