## About autoAllocate
autoAllocate is a web application for allocating resources to work. Users upload a spreadsheet containing resources (people, vehicles, rooms, markers) and work items (shifts, visits, tickets, blocks), define the rules — skills, capacity, availability, territories — and the application returns a completed allocation that satisfies those rules. Allocations can be exported back to spreadsheet format. The core engine is Google OR-Tools CP-SAT, a constraint-solver library. The application uses deterministic mathematical optimisation rather than machine learning or generative AI: given the same input and rules, it returns the same allocation. It is designed to prove that the rules are feasible and to optimise against the objective the user specifies, within a stated complexity limit (typically under one second up to 500k complexity; a standard 1,000 resources × 1,000 targets matrix). Files are processed locally in the browser; no personal data is stored, which makes it GDPR-compliant by design. The product includes ready-to-use templates for common allocation problems, including nurse rotas, home-care visit planning, field-service dispatch, exam-marking allocation, housekeeping blocks, territory delivery, consulting-project staffing, store scheduling and venue booking. Pricing is pay-per-use: one-off credit packs from £5, with credits that do not expire. New accounts receive 10 free credits. The product is developed in the UK and priced in sterling.
