## About Auth0
Auth0 takes a modern approach to Identity, providing secure access to any application, for any user. Safeguarding billions of login transactions each month, Auth0 delivers convenience, privacy, and security so customers can focus on innovation. Auth0 is part of Okta, The World’s Identity Company™. Auth0 lets you quickly integrate authentication and authorization for web, mobile, and legacy applications, with new Fine Grained Authorization (FGA) that goes beyond role-based access control. Authenticate users across all applications with a customized, secure, and standards-based single login. Universal Login connects users to a central authorization server. Credentials aren’t transferred across sources, which boosts security and protects against phishing and credential stuffing attacks. OAuth 2.0 recommends that only external user agents (like the browser) be used by native applications for authentication flows. Auth0’s Universal Login achieves this while also enabling SSO.

Find the walkthrough videos and be very meticulous when you follow them. Also, if you're able to change the dashboard lay out to the old one so the instructions match.
The new UI makes it a tiny bit difficult to match the directions.

There's a load of capabilities I wanted to use, and having auth0 manage some of the more fiddle parts of the auth process meant that I could concentrate on implementing fun features than messing with user management.

**What do you like best about Auth0?**

It makes the harder things more easy, without making the easy thing that more difficult.

**What do you dislike about Auth0?**

I suppose its inherent in the subject matter but there is just lots of terminology you'll need to become familiar with. Jsk's, jst's, identity tokens, access tokens, key providers etc.

Maybe there should be a list of terms you need to know on the getting started page.

**What problems is Auth0 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Providing users with a more trustworthy way of connecting with my app.

  ### 16. Easy to use and intuitive service.

Easy to use, they have guides for using them on various systems. It is simple and intuitive to use for external users. Simple to use in my applications.

**What do you dislike about Auth0?**

Some isolated issues in Shiny R when having multiple users on the web application. The platform tends to crash when many users log in at the same time because the Auth Login prevails when other people access the platform.

**Recommendations to others considering Auth0:**

Yes, it is a simple and intuitive system, made for users with a low level of programming.

**What problems is Auth0 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Yes, the solution is to use Dockers to create multi-instances. This solves part of the problem, but even so, external agents must be used to solve the problems through the platform. I hope it gets resolved, as the package used in R hasn't been updated for more than 5 years.

  ### 17. Very easy to set-up

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Transportation/Trucking/Railroad | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 24, 2020

**What do you like best about Auth0?**

Largely very reliable, and very extensible via a well thought out extensibility model. Their custom rules and web-hooks are by far the best feature of their product offering.

**What do you dislike about Auth0?**

They have had 2 outages in the last year. This is per se not bad, but both were lengthy (a bit > 1 hour each). Their documentation can become out of date, so it is very important to read over the documentation for a feature very carefully to make sure you are getting the most current documentation.

**What problems is Auth0 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mainly customer authentication and SSO, across >1 web & mobile applications. We want excellent security, and to be assured we are doing auth processes as correctly / securely as possible.

**Reviewed Date:** February 24, 2020

**What do you like best about Auth0?**

Responsiveness of the auth0 support team and overall easy of use once the integration has been completed.

**What do you dislike about Auth0?**

We use only a small subset of auth0 features and often product updates do not affect us, yet we must still shepherd, monitor, and test upgrades to the product that do no affect the features we're using.

Our usage of the auth0 requires very little resources on the AWS instance we have provisioned, yet during each upgrade we are told that our instance is insufficiently provisioned.

**What problems is Auth0 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a multi-tenant SaaS provider, we only use auth0 as a middleware between our customers and ourselves to provide authentication with identity providers. For this purpose, it has served our needs well.

**What problems is Auth0 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our company serves as governement's digital transformation agency that is mandated to transform Indonesia procurement systems. There are many legacy applications in current government procurement system which has its own identity management data and process. Asides from inefficiency, there are many issues related to the data integrity, reliability and security of the infrastructure which becomes more problematic when we are actually facing confidential data in our current procurement system. Therefore we want to transform this system using auth0 as Centralized Identity Management to provides a centralized platform for managing user identities, reducing the complexity of handling authentication across multiple applications and services. This centralized approach simplifies user management, access control, and security enforcement.

I like parts of the social login setup/connection guide because it gives me step-by-step instructions to set it up and it is quite simple to then integrate that into my website and mobile apps. The branding features are much better on Auth0's free plan than other authentication solutions. I have used Auth0 for a few months now.

I love using Auth0 because it simplifies the complex task of managing individual client tenants. With a large number of clients, manually handling each tenant could become chaotic, but Auth0 streamlines this process beautifully. **Reviewed by:** Jude B.

**Reviewed Date:** January 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Auth0?**

I like Auth0's powerful flexibility and high customizability. It supports multiple authentication protocols and methods, meeting the needs of different types of applications and users. Whether it's traditional username-password login, social account login, or passwordless login, it can be easily implemented, providing developers with great flexibility. Additionally, Auth0's customizability allows me to tailor login pages and access control rules according to the company's brand and business logic. For example, I once easily adjusted the layout, colors, and font styles of a login page for an e-commerce platform, making it highly consistent with the brand image while saving a lot of front-end development time. Auth0 can also seamlessly integrate with various front-end and back-end frameworks, significantly shortening the development cycle and reducing technical risks.

**What do you dislike about Auth0?**

I use Auth0 to address complex identity management needs, building secure and user-friendly authentication processes that support multi-factor authentication to prevent unauthorized access. At the same time, in terms of authorization management, it provides finely-tuned access permissions to ensure data confidentiality and integrity.

There's some pricing concerns since pricing increases with users and content. The console interface can seem overwhelming at first with lots of options and can require deeper learning.

**What problems is Auth0 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Auth0 for easy authentication, supporting Multi-Factor Authentication, simplifying sign-ons for interactive displays, and detecting anomalies. It offers an easy setup and a great dashboard for user analytics.

  ### 35. Auth0 Makes Secure Authentication Easy with Clear, Beginner-Friendly Docs

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Satvik D. | Student, Computer Software, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Auth0?**

Auth0 makes it straightforward to add secure login, social authentication, and user management to student projects, without a lot of extra setup.

**What do you dislike about Auth0?**

The pricing structure can be a bit confusing, and the free student plan limits access to some of the more advanced features.

**What problems is Auth0 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Auth0 addresses the challenge of building secure authentication from scratch by offering ready-made login, user management, and security features. This saves development time and lets me focus more on the project’s core functionality.

  ### 36. A dependable authentication platform that helps us move faster at LiveEasy

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rahul G. | Senior Software Developer, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 03, 2025

**What do you like best about Auth0?**

Working at LiveEasy, I’m constantly bouncing between backend tasks, fixing odd edge cases, and trying to keep the homeowner and partner experience smooth. Auth0 has been one of those tools that slips into the background in a good way. I plug it into a Django service, write a few lines, and suddenly I’m not worrying about password resets or a shaky login flow anymore.

**What do you dislike about Auth0?**

Once you go beyond the basics, Auth0 does start to feel a bit heavier. Some of the advanced configurations require extra time to understand, and the documentation sometimes skips the parts you actually need when customizing things at a deeper level .

**What problems is Auth0 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Auth0 has helped us at LiveEasy by letting us focus more on building the moving and home-management experience rather than getting stuck maintaining authentication logic. With multiple partners and various user-facing touchpoints, having a stable identity system really matters.
Instead of writing custom auth code for every service, we plug into Auth0 and get a consistent flow across our platform. This saves development time, reduces potential security risks, and lets us ship updates faster. For a team that wants to keep improving the product experience, offloading identity management to a platform we can trust has been a big win.

  ### 37. Auth0: Simple Setup, Strong Security

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ian T. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Auth0?**

I like the anti-attack system in Auth0, as it helps prevent my business from bot attacks. The authentication system is another feature that works especially well for me. Also, the initial setup was simple.

**What do you dislike about Auth0?**

It all works great, no problems with it.

**What problems is Auth0 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Auth0 helps me solve authentication issues and prevents my business from bot attacks effectively.

  ### 38. Auth0: The tool to secure user Authentication

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Future M. | Data Scientist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Auth0?**

Auth0 offers a good dashboard that shows the setup and management of user authentication

**What do you dislike about Auth0?**

Auth0's pricing is expensive, especially for large user bases

**What problems is Auth0 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Problems: managing user authentication can be complex and time complexing while Benefit: Auth0 provides a streamlined solution, allowing developers to focus on core application

  ### 39. Efficient User Authentication, Minor Setup Hurdles

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nishith J. | Devops intern, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Auth0?**

I use Auth0 to manage authentication and user access for web applications. What I like most about Auth0 is that it makes authentication feel much more manageable and secure without forcing me to build everything from scratch. The login flows, password resets, MFA, social login, and token handling are already well structured, so it saves a lot of development time. Auth0 gives a ready made and secure way to manage users, protect routes, and control who can access different parts of the application.

**What do you dislike about Auth0?**

One thing that could be improved in Auth0 is the initial setup and configuration. The platform is powerful, but some parts can feel more complicated than expected, especially when setting up callbacks, allowed URLs, roles, permissions, tenants, and token settings. The initial setup was manageable, but it was not completely effortless. For a basic login flow, Auth0 is fairly easy because the documentation and SDKs give you a quick starting point. The harder part comes when you need to configure callback URLs, logout URLs, token settings, etc.

**What problems is Auth0 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Auth0 handles authentication and user access securely, saving me time from building login flows, password storage, and access control. It manages users, secures routes, and controls application access effectively.

  ### 40. Streamlined, Secure Authentication with Flexible Social Logins and SSO

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vidhan P. | Data Scientist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Auth0?**

It simplifies authentication and identity management through a secure and developer friendly platform. The implementation process is relatively streamlined and the platform supports multiple authentication methods such as social logins and sso which improves both security and user experience

**What do you dislike about Auth0?**

While the platform is powerful understanding certain authentication flows and security configuration may require additional learning and technical expertise

**What problems is Auth0 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves problem of building and managing secure authentication and identity systems from scratch. Many applications struggle with implementing secure login systens

It provides centralized identity platform that simplifies authentication access management and security implementation

  ### 41. Fast to Integrate, Scales Well, and Affordable for MVPs

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Roger F. | Development Manager UK Qualifications and Assessments, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Auth0?**

It's extremely quick to integrate a good security model into a new product ahead of an MVP. It then also scales nicely as the application grows. The free tier also allows early demos, and the Pro price is extremely affordable for a new business idea.

The UI/UX is very clear, and the documentation and starter apps make getting started in a fairly complex area very simple.

**What do you dislike about Auth0?**

It can be hard to get the exact user experience you want around password resets using the Universal Login, though customisation of this is not hard. But it does mean that, for instance, I have implemented setting a new password for new users in my app rather than relying on auth0 because there's no clean way to direct to my app afterwards.

**What problems is Auth0 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Auth0 as my goto when doing demos of new product ideas for clients, and in my own solutions. AuthN and AuthZ is a pain to do yourself and integration with Auth0 takes this whole area off the board and makes it possible to build secure prototypes and MVPs very easily. Also, because it can be configured from Terraform it forms part of a CI pipeline very easily.

  ### 42. Implementation of Easy and Effective Authentication

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rizki S. | Chief Operating Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Auth0?**

I use Auth0 for my SAAS application and am greatly helped by the ease of implementing its comprehensive authentication features without needing much manual coding. The Auth0 UI is very attractive and nice. Additionally, the number of free monthly users provided is quite large compared to other services, allowing me to implement authentication without having to worry about difficult setups and high costs.

**What do you dislike about Auth0?**

The documentation can still be improved by providing more guidance on sample code. Then, provide more detailed and beginner-friendly tutorials and LLM. The initial setup is quite good but lacks detail and intuitiveness.

**What problems is Auth0 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Auth0 makes it easy for me to implement authentication with full features without much manual coding, and provides a free monthly user quota that is beneficial.

  ### 43. Clean Auth0–Supabase Split with Smooth Sign-In and Token Handling

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Auth0?**

What works best for us is the clean split between hosted identity and our application data. In this repo Auth0 handles the browser sign-in flow through @auth0/auth0-react, the dashboard can request fresh access tokens silently, and our Fastify API can validate bearer tokens with a standard audience/domain configuration. It lets us keep Supabase focused on application data while Auth0 owns login, sessions, and identity tokens.

**What do you dislike about Auth0?**

The main downside for us is operational complexity around environment management. The SDK flow is straightforward, but review, staging, and production require exact domain, audience, client ID, callback URL, and logout URL alignment, plus separate Management API credentials for read-only checks. When an email claim is missing we also need fallback logic to /userinfo or the Management API, which adds edge cases. Clearer built-in environment promotion and validation tooling would help.

**What problems is Auth0 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Auth0 solves user authentication for our dashboard and API without us building login, token issuance, session refresh, password storage, or social-login plumbing ourselves. In our app, authenticated users can access file management, scene sharing, profile settings, geospatial workflows, and other protected routes. The Fastify API receives verified bearer tokens and can provision user records keyed by the Auth0 subject. The benefit is that engineering time stays focused on product workflows, data boundaries, and privacy controls instead of maintaining a custom identity system.

  ### 44. Easy to integrate with an attractive UI/UX to boot

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** George P. | UX Designer, Marketing and Advertising, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 24, 2017

**What do you like best about Auth0?**

The best part of Auth0 is that you get everything from Social login to 2 factor authentication. We had to migrate existing users to the new platform and we took advantage of the password -less login

**What do you dislike about Auth0?**

The UI is pretty unchangeable. It would be nice to change the styling without overriding CSS (not recommended).

**What problems is Auth0 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We tried all sorts of solutions including custom built (aka copy pasting stuff) and other plugins/services. Auth0 was one of the few services with a host of tools from authentication to social login to CRM integration. This meant a lot less time spent on using/creating a solution for each part and instead using auth0 to solve all the issues.

Also, as a designer, their analytic backend is pretty sweet.

  ### 45. An awesome authentication system

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Furniture | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2019

**What do you like best about Auth0?**

Auth0 really provided a boost in development time and was a good solution to our authentication problems, have nice features like great customizability for emails, login pages etc. I like how easy it is to setup users in auth0. If it was any easier I wouldn't have a job anymore. It is that easy.

**What do you dislike about Auth0?**

Their system is not stable, they treat customer not good at all. If it is down like recently can affect your business.

**Recommendations to others considering Auth0:**

Auth0 is perfect for taking care of your users. It saves passwords, usernames, emails, etc. You can limit what they can do and everything!

**What problems is Auth0 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Auth0 allow you to get different ways to login to your project very fast. It saved me time developing all that integrations by my side, so, for me, save time is the biggest benefit of use Auth0

  ### 46. Enterprise Auth for Consumer Developers

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris S. | CEO, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 27, 2019

**What do you like best about Auth0?**

The ease of integrating enterprise level features like Single Sign-On (SSO) is impressive.

**What do you dislike about Auth0?**

The docs are outdated for a few things. The lock.js is too large of a download for users.

**What problems is Auth0 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Logging users in across multiple domains.

  ### 47. Authentication of Mobile app & APIs through Auth0

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Martijn V. | Software Solutions Architect, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2019

**What do you like best about Auth0?**

The platform grows with you and provides you the security needed. As Auth0 keeps updating its solution with each new insight or major changes in the field of authentication we as a customer are relieved from this burden. The platform also allows you to create as many tenants as you have environments in your application landscape. Through use of these tenants we could integrate the platform easily into our ALM.

**What do you dislike about Auth0?**

There is no easy way its own administration portal to see all of the existing tenants and which tenants you don't have access to. When you don't have access to one of the tenants you also can't see who to contact.

**What problems is Auth0 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a SaaS solution for B2C authentication which has great mobile SDKs. As Auth0 keeps these SDKs up to date and provides good documentation we can configure the authentication and move on to our applications themselves. By using the solution we were able to significantly reduce our authentication related development.

**Official Response from Andreas Christofakis:**

> Hi Martijn,

Thank you for sharing! We're happy the solution worked well for your B2C use case and you can now shift your development focus elsewhere. If there's anything else we can do to help, please let us know.

  ### 48. Frictionless authentication

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael S. | Sr. Android Developer, Internet, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2019

**What do you like best about Auth0?**

I like the variety of technologies supported by Auth0

**What do you dislike about Auth0?**

There is still a learning curve, but not as bad as previously thought.

**Recommendations to others considering Auth0:**

There are many options for integrating Auth0. If you are wondering about whether you can maintain a secured solution, Auth0 can help mitigate this risk.

**What problems is Auth0 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am using Auth0 for web and Android solutions.

  ### 49. Auth0 helped us to improve the customer experience through the adoption of a standard authentication

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sergio A. | Arquitecto Software, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2019

**What do you like best about Auth0?**

Auth0 gave us the peace of mind of having a secure and reliable platform with which we resolved, and will resolve, the future challenges in identity issues.

We admire the many code samples that you provide, from the product integration tutorials for the most known technologies (and not so much) to the examples of how to write a rule or a custom database script.

**What do you dislike about Auth0?**

All Auth0 documentation would be available in Spanish.
The costs for business customers are a bit high.
For large organizations like ours it is necessary that you provide Long Term Support (LTS) because it is very difficult for us to follow the dynamics that you have for changes and deprecations of features or libraries.

**Recommendations to others considering Auth0:**

Auth0 is the best option!

**What problems is Auth0 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A recurring problem before using Auth0 was to enable a new user repository to an application, this task took us weeks of work. We can now solve directly on the console with a few clicks and without the need to involve the development sector responsible for that application.

Reducing vulnerabilities in the login flow was something we never thought we would solve, now Auth0 allows us not to worry about these issues.

The adoption of the platform reduced from one month to one week (or even days) the time that we used for authentication and authorization in each project.

We reduced the costs in the projects due to the savings in development time that we dedicated to the security of each application.

  ### 50. Authentication made easy

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2019

**What do you like best about Auth0?**

Finally, we have a authentication as a service platform with a free tier that prevents the entry barrier to add auth in a lot of projects.

**What do you dislike about Auth0?**

Sometimes, we have experienced some deprecations, consequently, some changes in our code were required.

**What problems is Auth0 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a lecturer at the university, Auth0 has helped a lot when teaching authentication mechanisms and oAuth protocols. Students are more engaged and willing to add authentication/authorization mechanisms to their projects.
