It is very thorough and when used correctly it can bring great results. In particular the eay to make different scenarios (from manufacturing location, material type, alternate designs...) **What do you dislike about aPriori Manufacturing Intelligence Platform?** As with all attempts to make 'should costs' there is a significant amount of effort to make the results accurate to your individual company setup. Alternatively, it does provide generic costing results based on industry average, but then the effort is to 'teach' your company that the results are not '100%' accurate as it does not match the quote.... This is maybe more of an issue with understanding cost estimation practices than the software itself. Some assemblies have already been costed in the previous period but we need to recost them due to changes in material cost and/or in manufacturing volumes/locations. Some other parts are completely new and they need to be costed from scratch. For the parts already costed at least one time, the recosting should be a very straightforward process (e.g. the system should just ask for the new volumes/locations...) and pressing a button the complete assembly (BOM with several levels!!) should be recosted automatically without requiring a manual intervention in each child. Today we are not there.
