# Which sales coaching software is best for mid-market sales teams?

I'm putting together a comparison of sales coaching tools specifically for mid-market sales orgs, and two names spoil the list before we even get into it: Gong and Mindtickle. Beyond those two, the picture depends on whether a team needs call intelligence, structured training, or outbound support.

Gong is the name mid-market reviewers reach for first, mostly for turning call recordings into actionable insights without manually reviewing every conversation. A few reviewers do say the AI-generated insights need manual double checking before relying on them for bigger decisions.

Mindtickle gets picked when the priority is structured onboarding and ongoing training rather than call review alone, with reviewers pointing to AI roleplay and self-paced coursework as reasons reps actually finish training instead of skipping it.

Nooks leans more toward outbound calling and pipeline generation, but mid-market reviewers use it for coaching-adjacent purposes too, like tracking connect rates and reviewing calls during team meetings.

Salesloft shows up when teams want cadence management alongside coaching, with reviewers citing the structure it adds to otherwise scattered follow-up.

For anyone on a mid-market team, did you end up needing separate tools for call coaching versus onboarding and training, or did one platform genuinely cover both without feeling stretched?

On the one-platform-or-two question: call coaching and structured training run on different clocks. Call insights are a daily rhythm attached to live deals; curriculum is episodic, tied to onboarding and launches. Platforms that do both almost always grew from one side and it shows, so the practical question isn't which tool is best but which motion drives your team's improvement, then accept that the other half will be serviceable rather than excellent. Mid-market teams mostly can't staff two admin surfaces anyway, which quietly makes that prioritization for them.
