I like how the audit model configuration in AppZen is very easy to do. Plus, we have access to some audit models which are very much needed in our area, especially the expense report verification and receipt verification model which works on the OCR logic. These features make it easy and convenient to use. The configuration doesn't require much technical knowledge and it's simple to modify settings. It really takes care of identifying unauthorized expenses and unauthorized merchants that we as humans might not recognize. The capability of reading each word on receipts to identify all line items is a huge plus. After the feedback in Appzen tool, we see system learns and adopts as per new changes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about AppZen? I find the customer support isn't great. The agents often only know the basics and don't understand the back-end workings. Plus, the response time is very late when it needs to be escalated to the engineering team. There are slight performance issues, especially with the integration with our Concur system. We often find that the ingestion of reports between Concur and AppZen doesn't happen every two hours as expected. Additionally, if any changes are made by other approvers after employee submission and before the report is ingested, they don't always get updated in the system. If we need to recall and resubmit, it takes more than four to five hours to sync with Concur, which is a hassle. Also, the initial setup wasn't straightforward as it was a new tool for us, so I'd rate its ease of setup as a six out of ten. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. I find that AppZen simplifies expense report verification with auto approval mechanism and audit models making it easy to spot unauthorized expenses, auto validation of thresholds. While AppZen delivers strong automation capabilities, the standard T&E models feel limited when compared to the AI Agents. The AI Agents provide much deeper analysis and can validate complex SOP requirements more effectively. Because of the value they deliver, I believe AI Agents should be included as a core capability rather than a premium option. The cost of AI Agents is currently quite high, which can make adoption challenging for some organizations. It is integrated with Concur with no problems and implementation was painless. What I like is its AI-powered 100% audit coverage for expenses. Duplicates are easy to identify. I also like the “request more information” feature because it makes our job easier and helps us avoid sending reports back and forth. Appzen goes through the first round of the validation process, which helps us save time. We recently expanded this tool to other regions, the performance of this tool is good. Our CSM partner and the support team also help us with their insights; since they are the subject matter experts for the tool, we’re able to be more strategic and adjust our policies so we can make the best use of it. It isn’t able to identify figures handwritten on receipts which should be resolved as it can improve the auto approval rates. New user interface doesn't look appealing to me the old version was still better. The rejection reason template created was of no use as we cannot modify the wordings and if we do the header disappears which should be fixed. Sometimes Appzen does not flag certain expenses such as non itemized receipts where we feel the risk is high as the report can be auto approved with errors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What problems is AppZen solving and how is that benefiting you? Expense auditing has become much easier with the help of Appzen. It’s a very user-friendly product, and it already highlights what’s wrong with the report, so we don’t have to manually track daily thresholds—Appzen handles all of that for us. Earlier, when we used to audit in Concur, for foreign-language receipts we had to download the receipts and do the translation in Concur. With Appzen, there’s an inbuilt feature that translates for us; even if it’s not 100% accurate, it still gives us a clear idea of what the wording means.
