I was the project manager for a research project that involved realizing 50+ interviews with guests from all over Europe, mainly in English, but there were some in Spanish, Italian and French too. The deadlines were tight and the quality had to be impeccable. Amberscript was a perfect partner for this. Realiable, professional, with a handy online platform that made the process automatized. My team learnt to use the platform easily and this took a huge headache off my shoulders. A big plus is that they have human made transcription and also machine made. We got them man-made always but on one occasion when we needed an ultra speedy delivery of an interview I had this pretty decent automatic transcription delivered automatically. I am highly appreciative of the work the whole team did to support us on a challenging and fast paced project and I can confidently recommend it to anyone seeking for quality reliable transcription services. I cannot point much that I didn't dislike. If I think of it, minor things could be improved, there is always a 1% room for improvement. Such as having a counter of the overall amount of spent hours... Or a more intuitive visualization and UX of the digital platform... Maybe sometimes weird words in other foreign languages could be better transcripted (e.g. As when in an interview in English with a Dutch guest suddenly says some difficult words in Dutch, which is a different language of that being transcribed in)... Or sometimes the Speaker 1 and 2 could be better signaled in the doc. It would maybe be handy to have all interviews downloadable in a single document.

But these are all really minute things that didn't affect day to day operation and are more additional features than things that did not work well enough. I already gave some of this feedback to them anyway and they were generally receptive to feedback so what I am saying might be outdated by now.

I had some good experiences with Amberscript. If you need very accurate transcriptions, you can rely on the manually reviewed ones. They are almost perfect, well formatted and can be directly imported into MAXQDA, for instance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The communication with the customer service was not always smooth and often took longer than expected. To this day, I am still waiting for responses for transcripts that were uploaded incorrectly or twice. The price is also slightly above average compared to competing products that we also tested.
