IBM Watson personality integration is brilliant. Also being able to find a cluster of audiences based on following f accounts or locations/demographic is fantastic.

UI in audiense connect & loading time and being limited to 50K results

**Recommendations to others considering Audiense:**

Think and try to understand how this can be integrated with your social listening platform. You must think as Audiense as a companion/partner tool to the solutions that you have already

**What problems is Audiense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Personality insights for better understanding and tonality of our marketing messages.
Create audiences that would have been hard to create without Audiense, especially follower of account or by region or personality type
quantifying the size of segments and finding potential white sapce

**What do you like best about Audiense?**

Before Audiense, I would conduct online audience research by search for a topic on a regular social listening tool, going through the mentions, and looking through the profiles of people joining in on the conversation by hand. This would take hours, even for the most basic of tasks. Audiense does the same work and more for me in a fraction of the time. Reports are quick and easy to set up, and they rarely take longer than 10 minutes to run. The exports generated from the report are visually nice and easy to read, meaning I can send them directly to stakeholders without having to adjust them. The tool's documentation is well written and anwers most questions, including details of data sourcing, and the Audiense team are very helpful and quick to answer any addtional questions that are sent to them.

**What do you dislike about Audiense?**

Because Audiense's insights reports are generated based on audiences found via publically avalible data on X, it is not always a true representation of an overall audience. However, when trying to research online audiences, often this option is better than nothing and/or a good starting point.

**What problems is Audiense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

While traditional social listening tells me what people are saying about a topic, Audiense tells me about those people themselves - demographics, interests, influencers that would appeal to them, etc. It allows me to quickly and easily gather this information.

The clustering functionality allows us to learn more about the audiences talking about our movies and to present the information to stakeholders in an easily digestible way. The Audiense team has also been receptive to our feedback and has added features we requested.

**What do you dislike about Audiense?**

Nothing significant comes to mind. It would just be nice to have this platform linked with a social listening tool to be able to instantly pull insights without having to export comments/users and import them into Audiense.

**What problems is Audiense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Through Brandwatch, we're able to easily track social conversation and social volume. However, Brandwatch is not particularly useful when analyzing the composition of audiences talking about something online. Audiense helps us deep dive into WHO is talking about a movie and more closely analyze opportunity audiences or problematic audiences.

**What do you like best about Audiense?**

We used Audiense to analyze the characteristics of different audiences who engaged in conversations on X around a specific topic. The tool proved to be extremely valuable, offering a wealth of detailed insights to enrich our analysis (from users' interests and influencers, to socio-demographic attributes...)

I particularly appreciated the integration with IBM Watson, which leverages machine learning to generate in-depth personality profiles for specific target groups.

The platform’s interface is well-designed, making navigation smooth, intuitive, and user-friendly.

The support from the Audiense team has been outstanding from the very beginning. I truly valued their responsiveness and proactive approach in providing ideas and suggestions to enhance our analysis and maximize the platform’s potential.

We also have access to additional data sources beyond Twitter, including the Meta ecosystem and LinkedIn. Plus our tool Demand, allows you to have comprehensive insights into an entity’s (brand, person, public figure, fictional character, organization, community, etc) online presence and digital footprint.

Being able to undersrand where does the conversation sits in terms of who is part of and what are tha affinities they have.

**What do you dislike about Audiense?**

Maybe the thing that i most miss is the posibility of playing around with the audience search within the platform rather than going back to Meltwater and refine the search there. Also the posibility of editing the results whenever the results are not matching an analyst pov.

Honestly, Audiense is pretty awesome at giving super detailed audience segmentation and analytics for your X (formerly Twitter) account. It goes way beyond basic demographics and really helps me get a grasp on my audience’s behaviors, preferences, and who influences them.

The platform can be a bit of a challenge to navigate at first. There’s a ton of features, and it can feel kinda overwhelming

**What do you like best about Audiense?**

One of the best things about Audiense is that this tool provides enormous amouns of insights. Quite often those insights not only cofirm some of hypotheses that we might have already but also revelas lots new facts. This information sparks lots of creative actionable ideas related to marketing, sales and overall business strategy.
Needless to say it's super easy to use , and even if you're completely new to the tool, you can pick it up fast.

**What do you dislike about Audiense?**

The only and not really significant isse is that reporting is based on a Twitter account, and not all businesses that we are interested in have one. However, Audiense isn't the one to blame for it, and also we know some workarounds.

**What problems is Audiense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It streamlines a number of processes such as creating buying persona, identifying new segments to target, building marketing/sales/business strategy, measuring marketing chanels efficiency, stratrgic planning and even creating a budget. 
It helps to allocate resources properly whether it's time, money or skills or our teams.

Most of the industry relies on Twitter as open data to provide real-time insights that identify audience affinities at a personal level vs aggregated, or even scrapped (which we do not want to handle, as not accurate). 

However, this was part of the reason we acquired and introduced our latest Meta insights tool, Soprism, which provides aggregated audiences with interests in Meta, and first-party data profiling, so that we can provide an enriched audience analysis enabling multichannel. With the combination, this takes audience profiling to the next level. 🚀

**What do you like best about Audiense?**

I've been using Audiense Connect for a while now, and it's changed my approach to audience segmentation and engagement. 

The platform provides a 10,000-metre view of my audience, with granular breakdowns of demographics, interests, and behaviors. 

I'm very reliant on X/Twitter for social analytics and their X integration helped me level up. I love how I can export segments directly to the Twitter ads dashboard.

It didn't involve much of a learning curve. As I was onboarding, whenever I had questions, they responded quickly. They're very helpful and the Audiense product team is awesome.

**What do you dislike about Audiense?**

Initially, I was a little hesitant to go all in on Audiense due to the heavy reliance on X/Twitter, but with the recent acquisition of Soprism and the ability to now profile Meta accounts, there's not much to dislike. They have their eye on the future, and I like the looks of their product roadmap.

**What problems is Audiense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main overarching problem that Audiense solved for me was limited audience understanding. I had no idea how surface-level previous social analytics projects were until I started researching well beyond the basic demographic limitations of other platforms.

Audiense Connect gives me a deep understanding of my audience(s), and now I'm segmenting in ways that I never thought possible.

They have been bending over backward for me as a tiny client for years. I have been working on different types merging the value of Audiences with our digital advertising business in 1000 different ways. This work has been ongoing for more than 2 years and we are still working on getting to the finishing line. Even with our minor contribution to the yearly turnover they have not only helped but invited me over to their office to learn more about how their service works. Great team, great people!

Nothing really. Might be nice to have better-documented APIs

**What problems is Audiense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Giving us valuable insight into who could be a potential customer for our clients. In some meetings even surprise clients with things they could not even imagine being true, with some assumptions about their users at times being way off.

Great team, helped me reach rich behavioural data from Meta - to my knowledge not available elsewhere right now.

**What do you dislike about Audiense?**

There's a lot of UK data in there but I think needs to be tailored a bit to include more for anyone focusing on that region - just needs to be discussed up front with the team. I'd imagine it will keep expanding as time goes on.

**What problems is Audiense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

What excited me about their platform was the unique way it looked at data connected to people’s activity on social media - the pages and posts they liked - rather than their public posts. And their access to the insight-rich data within Meta. I was able to reach and examine previously unreachable audiences as a result. This is amazing for both product development and campaign planning.

Audiense is the first platform I look to whenever I'm working on an audience development project. The segmentation, comparisons, and global landscape make it perfect for projects, big or small. With my work focused primarily in the music industry, I'm able to easily find the artists I'm working with or comparable artists to start any project. The deep breakdowns across all the different forms of media, user preferences, demographics and more is the most robust offering I've seen and with the newest acquisitions expanding across additional social media sites, it really is an uncomparable project.

**What do you dislike about Audiense?**

There's a lack of historical change functionality which makes it hard to compare over time.

**What problems is Audiense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows an aggregation across multiple social media sites and creates robust segmentation of my audiences.

We found that audience intelligence is a crucial piece to get an accurate understanding of customers behaviors , and we fully integrate those data to our process with other data sets ( such as search , social listenig , surveys , etc...)

**What do you like best about Audiense?**

Their technology, their data, and their team exceptional.  Audience offers the most robust view of consumer behavior and personalities across social platforms – insights we cannot get anywhere else.  We rely heavily on these observations for both clients and new business efforts.

I LOVE the behavioral profile, the instant segmentation, and the media content consumption - it brings our media and strategy planning to the next level.  

With an insights team of 35 people, I don't know how we could do without it!

**What do you dislike about Audiense?**

Practically nothing.  But if I'm forced, I'd suggest the auto segmentation provide more accurate and specific segment names.

**What problems is Audiense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A deeper, more accurate, and more authentic view of a consumer target AND segmentaiton based on social behaviors.

**What do you like best about Audiense?**

The most helpful thing about Audiense is that you can answer such a broad variety of questions a brand might have about not just their own audience(s) but also audience(s) of competitors. 
This breadth is also paired with speed, with insights being generated in such a speedy timeframe. 
There is so much room for story telling with the data and allows audience understanding to push so much deeper than demographics and dive into what really makes consumer audiences tick, sparks their interests, and what and who influences them!

The support received from the team at Audiense is also second to none. Any questions that can't be answered by tooltips in platform and that are submitted through the help forms, are always answered fully and in good time.

I will also add that Audiense is really easy to use, excellent for layering on people-based insights to existing reports, and is great for pulling out quick exciting nuggests of interest!

**What do you dislike about Audiense?**

There is very little that I can add here. 
There are some metrics in which occasionally results need to be caveated. But this is not a dislike of Audiense. In these cases, any inferences made are necessary and there is not a better option on the market.

**What problems is Audiense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Great for understanding more about how to communicate to and reach different audiences based. 
Global reach is vey helpful.

So far, I've only seen only Audiense who can 1. see the overlap of followers within 3 selected Twitter accounts. 2. Identify group of people on Twitter who are a. following account A while b. not following account B. 
This is super powerful when I want to ultra target for specific group of people.
The support team is very quick in coming back to my requests/questions too.

**What do you dislike about Audiense?**

The interface is only in English, which is okay for me, but wish there is option for Japanese-only speakers too :)

**What problems is Audiense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problem that Audiense is solving for me is identifying where my real targets are. It benefits me because I get to see which Anime IPs are popular among other Anime IPs. (For example, how many % of the total followers of@Eiichiro_Staff follows @NARUTO_kousiki)

It provides really great insights into your chosen audience(s). Rather than making assumptions, you can let the data guide your strategy.

At times your audience size can be limited if it isn't a highly active group that is on Twitter.

One of the biggest problems that it solves is being able to create data-backed personas for the brands we represent. We're able to tap into personality traits via IBM Watson, understand media affinities, review purchase behaviors, and more.

We are delighted to know that you enjoy and value Audiense.

In terms of audience size, Audiense Insights has a sample size limit of 250,000 members, however you can upload your own audience (handles or IDs (i.e. social listening authors) with a limit of 1 million members. You can also circumvent this limit by creating the audience in Audiense Connect first and select that audience from Connect via the Profile Attributes report creation type (also up to 1 million members).  📈

The reason for the 250K cap is that you don't need to analyse more to understand an audience type, however we do have those workarounds if you want to expand this analysis (i.e. followers of audience). 🚀

Audiense has allowed us to create customer segments based on people who have been engaging with our brand online. Our prior segmentation used exclusively product sales data, so Audiense has allowed us to extend into those who have engaged with our brand but not purchased - a useful potential customer group for us to understand.

**What do you dislike about Audiense?**

The Audiense platform can be a bit difficult to use sometimes. The process of creating audiences for DSP targeting can take some time as well.

**What problems is Audiense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We previously did not full understand the behaviours of users who engage in conversation relevant to our brand online, as well as their media behaviours (e.g. TV shows, movies, podcasts they enjoy). Through using Audiense, we've been able to understand this information as well as the biggest influencers in their segments. This has allowed us to define clear customer segments to build our marketing plan.

Everything. customer service, onboarding. I have been using it for several years.Latest iterations are excellent.

I use the audience segmentation tool as well as followers comparison and insights on data collected. Ads packaging also let users
target across platforms as swell as look alikes. 

The audiense algorithm is very good in organising followers by groups including age, region, mobile device etc.

There is nothing that i dislike about Audiense.-

Audiense helps us understand our existing followers and search for future ones. We benefit from content creation, insights and intelligence data to help
us better put forward campaigns with impact. The sentiment is one of the big things it is helping us get an understanding of the mood of our followers.
The more you dig into the tool the more you see how to reach out and engage. For examples using their Follower comparison tool across competitors to see 
which are the mutual ones and not mutual ones allow you to target potential new audiences with similar interests.
Understanding the rank of Twitter followers to see who you are not following back is all great.

Tremendous scope in terms of tools available, genuinely interesting and actional insights, the fact that I can easily apply it to any campaign I work on - regardless of B2B or B2C. My clients love the reports I can present and it has real insights on the way I approach marketing campaign planning. It's also hugely valuable in the publishing sector for understanding the potential value of an acquisition and the audiences we could tap into.

**What do you dislike about Audiense?**

Honestly nothing. The only minor gripe I have is the segment names as they're not always reflective of the data and insights inside the segment, but you can easily rename segments as required.

**What problems is Audiense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I frequently find myself challenged with exploring new audiences for the books I work on, or needing to deliver more impact on digital advertising campaigns. Audiense is the perfect partner for all these things and more. It essentially makes me look absolutely awesome at my job.

This tool gives us very useful and important learnings about our audiences. It also allows us to adapt and make our strategy more relevant. We can also define a clear persona for our brand.

For the moment, there is a limitation to the Twitter data. But I guess it is something that will be improved.

Audiense opens up the possibility of analysing a specific group of people or audience of your intrerest, providing very detailed reports on their lifestyle, characteristics and features. It's a superb way to understand what moves this audience, so you can take more informed decisions on your marketing strategies.

It is difficult to directly reach out to the audience itself, but this is because of data protection regulations.

It allows me to better understand a particular audience so I can better design my strategy to approach them. This maximizes the chances of success in my campaigns.

What I dislike about the tool is that it can only be used through Twitter. This is a problem because if there is a brand or industry that does not exist there, then the tool would not work for me.

It helps us to have a numerical base to justify our strategic proposals, it also allows us to know what media our user is interested in and what type of influencers and content creators are most suitable for their personality and interests.

Twitter is indeed our main data source for Audiense Insights & Audiense Connect platforms, but we are using other data and proprietary algorithms to enrich this data further. 

To use a couple of examples, you can see social media channels for influencers, and filter content creators by channel in the influencers tab, as well as relevant social channels for the audience via the online habits tab.

However, we understand if an account or audience is not on Twitter, this becomes more difficult to analyse. In these cases, there are options:

1. Use Audiense Insights as a proxy to find similar audiences (i.e. competitor followers)

2. We also have a multichannel reporting option, where we can provide reports off platform for Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, at account level.

3. Audiense also has a Meta Insights tool called "Soprism", which allows you to find audiences on Facebook and Instagram (covers the Meta network), and uses declared data via the Meta ads API.

🚀 With Soprism, you can identify audiences with specific interests, as well as first-party data audiences if Meta is an important channel for you. Many of our users now have access to both, and use them in combination.

- The influencers & brands section is also great to get an impression of who they are, and is sufficiently sliceable to dive into various niches, as the same view (uniqueness/affinity/filters) doesn't work for each use case
- Benchmarking functionality is a huge advantage too, to contextualise everything we can uncover

- Demographics and sociographics can be misleading, due to its inferential nature, and while I can use other sources for demographic information, I have to make sure clients don't read too much into the demographics/sociographics sections when I send them the public version of the report

Understanding fan groups of a particular artist or genre, allowing us to suggest strategy that cultivates authentic die-hard fandom, whereby the artist can communicate and collaborate with their die-hards, and forge longevity into their career (beyond mere streaming performance).

In terms of demographics within our Audiense Insights platform, we use Twitter public profile information and our own algorithm to infer what Twitter does not provide. 

For example, language is based on user tweets, country/city are inferred from the Twitter profile free text field, but we apply our algorithm (AI/ML) to detect these correctly and make sure we have the right version of the location, whereas age & gender are not provided by Twitter, so we apply AI/ML. 

For socioeconomics, this data is aggregated from FB Ads API (declared) and census data for US-only income. The link below explains how this tab/data is calculated 🫶

I liked that it's creating dashboards and visualizations that look nice and are helpful. I also think its reach of social media users is pretty good. It was easy to integrate into our work.

Demographic data seems a bit unreliable. Downloading the data in Excel is not very user friendly. The customer representatives are not too knowledgable.

All the information is very detailed and extremely useful for analyzing the potential audience of a social media profile. As a basis for more detailed studies, it is extraordinary.

The information is so exhaustive that it's hard to truly take advantage of it. For an individual user, the cost of the platform is somewhat excessive, and I only use it for educational purposes to create reports with my students.

1. by downloading the report into a PDF or PPTX file provides a summary or full overview of the Audience, including these insights. 

2. we also have the option to download ‘All insights’ into XLS, which provides many metrics including content type, media and channels. If this is not available through your account at the moment, please get in touch with help@audiense.com or your account manager, on how to enable the download of all insights for any given audience.
