What customer support options does Adobe InDesign provide, and how do users find the overall support experience?

Adobe InDesign provides self-service help through a knowledge base and FAQs or forums. The support experience is mixed: online guidance and community resources help users find answers, while direct support can feel slow or unhelpful when an issue is difficult to resolve.

What is the experience like for teams switching to Adobe InDesign from another tool?

Moving to Adobe InDesign from tools such as QuarkXPress, Microsoft Publisher, Illustrator, and simpler design platforms has often been about gaining more control over detailed, multi-page layouts and print production. Users describe stronger typography and layout flexibility, better handling of long documents, and a more connected workflow with other Adobe applications; the transition can still involve learning new tools and habits.

Adobe InDesign offers 14 integrations. Its integrations connect page-layout work with creative applications, productivity tools, and asset or publishing workflows.

  • Productivity and collaboration: Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams.
  • Asset and publishing workflows: Canto, FlippingBook, OpenAsset, and Shred.ai.
These connections support moving images and graphics into layouts, working with PDFs, and sharing or managing assets across related workflows.

What features or capabilities could make Adobe InDesign even more useful?

Adobe InDesign could be more approachable for new users, smoother for team review, and more capable in a few production tasks. The most recurring improvement themes are:
  • Simpler onboarding and navigation: Make common tools and workflows easier to find and learn.
  • More reliable collaboration: Improve shared review and real-time teamwork on documents.
  • Stronger performance and stability: Reduce slowdowns and crashes when working with large, image-heavy files.
  • More capable creative and automation tools: Expand image-editing options and automate more layout and repetitive production work.

"Easy-to-Use Layout Tool with Excellent Font Control"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Adobe InDesign?

InDesign is helpful because its interface is easy to use. You can set up your document exactly the way you want, and it will print the way it looks on screen. It’s a strong layout program, and in my experience it’s the best option out there for working with and laying out different fonts. They also make frequent improvements to the program. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?

One thing InDesign doesn’t do well, in my experience, is paragraph formatting. If you’re trying to create a bullet list or set up indentations, it can be difficult to make edits without having to redo the list or the indentation settings. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The most helpful page layout application!"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Adobe InDesign?

InDesign is the best app for page layout! I'm so thankful for all of the shortcuts! I'm always laying out 100+ page booklets, so this makes it a breeze! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?

It crashes sometimes. I wish it were a little more reliable in that way. We're usually working with large files, so it would be nice if it could really handle them! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Table of Contents Feature: A Total Game Changer"
5/5
What do you like best about Adobe InDesign?

I absolutely love the table of contents feature. It took me a little while to get up to speed on the best way to use it and set up styles, but once I got the hang of it, this feature became a total game changer, especially for long documents that are constantly being changed and updated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?

Sometimes I notice odd discrepancies in how color profiles appear while I’m editing a document compared with how they look after it’s exported. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"InDesign Makes Branded Print Layouts Fast, Flexible, and Reliable"
4/5
What do you like best about Adobe InDesign?

InDesign is a great bit of software I mainly use for anything we want to get printed like leaflets or brochures along with case studies. Its easy to create templates to use again and again.

Can customise everything within the document so you can align it with the company brand guidelines and have full flexibility to quickly make changes.

It always runs smoothly even when dealing with a 30+ page brochure even on an older laptop it has no problems.

The support is great like all adobe products you can get an answer quite fast and thats if the help isn't already online to solve the issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?

Sometimes you get a formatting glitch within a paragraph but that seems to have stopped with the update so hoping it has finally been resolved.

Sometimes can be quite hard to re-find a setting you have used before (but don't use often) can be hidden within a few sub menus. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Fast, Flexible Layouts and Typography with InDesign"
5/5
What do you like best about Adobe InDesign?

I like how I can make most everything I need in InDesign. I especially like the direct selection ability without having to mess with layers, unless I want there to be layers. I can quickly edit text and typography with images in a fraction of the time it would take to do the same thing in Photoshop. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?

My biggest gripe about InDesign would be the inability to edit a photo's color mode quickly. If I just need to apply a black&white filter to a photo, I can't do that within InDesign easily. I have to use Photoshop and then save a copy of the photo instead of just applying a simple filter within the native app. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Versatile Tool for Structured Document Design"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Adobe InDesign?

I use Adobe InDesign to produce client-facing presentation documents and formal reports. I really like the level of control it provides over layout and editing, along with the ability to share documents for live review and comment. This allows information to be structured with clear hierarchy and consistency, which is particularly important for complex documents. Its editing capabilities enable efficient refinement of content, allowing me to quickly implement changes without disturbing the overall composition. The ability to share documents supports a more collaborative workflow, making it easier to track and incorporate revisions. In addition, the software is intuitive to use, and establishing basic templates and document structures required minimal setup. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?

Performance can be a limitation, especially with larger documents that include high-resolution imagery or multiple linked files, making it slow to navigate. The collaboration feature, while useful, can be less seamless compared to more cloud-native platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Flexible, Easy-to-Use Graphics Tool with Great Support and Export Options"
5/5
What do you like best about Adobe InDesign?

It is flexible, easy to use, works well with graphic inputs and allows for various export formats for differing uses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?

It keeps getting improvements so previous bad points have been overcome. The least likeable thing for me is the inability to easily switch fonts. It would be nice if you had a default list and then all the others to choose from. I sometimes find I have to scroll through list of fonts to choose the one I really want. "Essential Tool for Professional Health Education and Clinical Publishing"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Adobe InDesign?

I work as a Dietician and Nutritionist, manage a homeopathy clinic, and also create health education and teaching content. My daily work includes preparing patient education guides, diet charts, disease-specific nutrition booklets, clinic handouts, and educational material that needs to be clear, structured, and professional.

What I like most about Adobe InDesign is how well it supports document based work. In my field, a lot of information needs to be presented in an organized and easy-to-understand format, especially for patients and students. InDesign makes it easier to manage text, headings, images, and spacing in a clean layout, which is very important for medical and nutrition-related documents.

Even though InDesign is a professional tool, once the basic workflow is understood, it becomes easy to use for regular work. Creating pages, placing text and images, and maintaining consistent formatting does not feel complicated after some practice. This makes it practical to implement in daily clinic and education work without needing advanced design skills.

I use InDesign quite frequently, especially when working on multi-page guides such as clinical nutrition manuals or patient education booklets. Features like master pages, paragraph styles, and text frames help save time and keep the design consistent across all pages. This is useful when updating content or creating similar documents for different conditions.

Image handling and integration work smoothly. I can easily place diet-related images, charts, infographics, and AI-generated visuals and align them properly with the text. InDesign also integrates well with files from other tools like Illustrator and PDFs, which helps combine content from multiple sources into one final document.

There are many features available, but most of them are relevant for structured publishing work. I mainly use the layout, text control, and image placement features, which are reliable and work as expected. Support resources and online documentation are helpful whenever guidance is needed, making it easier to solve issues without disrupting work.

Overall, Adobe InDesign fits well into my workflow as a dietician, clinic manager, content creator, and educator. It helps me create professional, readable, and well-organized health education documents that are suitable for real clinical use and teaching, without adding unnecessary complexity to the process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?

One limitation I have noticed is related to the text-to-image feature. When I generate diet-related or nutrition visuals using text prompts, the results are not always fully accurate. Sometimes spelling mistakes appear in the generated images, or the food labels and text do not match exactly with professional nutrition terminology. Because of this, I usually need to review and manually correct or adjust the visuals before using them for patient education or teaching material.

Another challenge is that InDesign has a learning curve for new users. For someone who is not from a design background, understanding all the tools, panels, and layout options can take some time. While it becomes easier with regular use, the initial setup and navigation can feel a bit complex.

Performance can also slow down when working on heavy documents with many pages, images, or high-resolution graphics. During such projects, the software may feel slightly heavy, especially on systems with limited resources.

Overall, these are practical limitations rather than major issues. With some patience and manual checking, InDesign still works very well for professional document creation, but certain AI features and performance aspects could be improved for smoother everyday use. "Illustrator: Best-in-Class Design Workflow with Seamless Creative Suite Integration"
5/5
What do you like best about Adobe InDesign?

Illustrator is, by far, the best document designer out there. The workflow feels straightforward and easy to follow, which makes it pleasant to use. It also works smoothly with the whole Creative Suite and integrates well with Microsoft Office apps. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?

The initial learning curve is a bit tough, but once you get it, you really get it. It’s also very pricey, but the ROI is pretty darn good. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
