Given its wide variety of features, I like the breadth of projects that can be developed using InDesign from newsletters, release notes, and guides to intensive graphics creation and editing.

**What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?**

It's a bit of a double-edged sword that the number of features can also contribute to a learning curve, such as when to switch between toolbars/tool types, how to manage layers, and how best to work with images.

**What problems is Adobe InDesign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My clients often need high-quality templates that can be revised frequently, and reused for updated or new editions. As a template or content designer, I benefit by being able to duplicate template types and adjust them to meet a variety of client needs.

  ### 29. A great software for creating beautiful presentations and document

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joneien J. | Freelance 3D Apparel Designer/Garment Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Adobe InDesign?**

I find InDesign very easy to use. The way images are linked instead of embedded into the file saves on file size. This also eliminates the need to replace any image contet if it has been revised in another program. Even though InDesign is mostly a publishing software, I have used it most often to create presentations for clients with easy to make layouts that look professional. I also will often use InDesign as a quick way to communicate and discuss changes or edits to designs (for example 3D renders), so there is an easy visual document, instead of just going back and forth in emails with attachments.

**What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?**

Of course the software has been updated many times over the years, but I find that I don't use any of the newer features. For me I just need the basic functions from version CS6 as crazy as that sounds. I feel the amount of tools and menu options has made the key features get lost, and I have to spend more time looking for the tools I really need. I also don't like how the color palette works. I would prefer something more similar to Photoshop or Illustrator as far as how to add and manage colors in the document. InDesign's way of having a default palette, but color chips that are not easy to edit or add to the palette is cumbersum.

**What problems is Adobe InDesign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

An easy way to make non destruction presentations with consistent formatting.

  ### 30. InDesign - The long running, and proven tested standard for document management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lisa P. | Marketing Content Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 24, 2024

**What do you like best about Adobe InDesign?**

I like that the fact that although there have been some great improvements over time, the general operating of in design has stayed consistent and the gold standard for document management. For an exact "feature" that I use regularly is the "find" feature, where I can use GREP for formatting and styling changes.

**What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?**

There are no downsides. (well I guess the fact that it is no longer a "purchase" rather it's a membership).

**What problems is Adobe InDesign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. Multi-page document management
2. Styles (character, paragraph)
3. Vector documents
4. Sharing
5. Formatting

  ### 31. The Ultimate Tool for Professional Layout and Design

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sanampreet K. | Graphic Designer, Graphic Design, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2024

**What do you like best about Adobe InDesign?**

What I like the best about InDesign, the combination of advanced tools for typography, grids, and alignment makes it easy to create professional, polished designs.

**What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?**

What I dislike about InDesign While the basics are easy enough to pick up, navigating through complex functionalities can be challenging for beginners. Another downside is the subscription model, which can be expensive for casual users or freelancers who don’t need it frequently.

**What problems is Adobe InDesign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

InDesign excels at handling multi-page documents, such as magazines, books, and brochures, allowing for precise control over text, images, and graphic elements. It saves time and ensures high-quality results, especially for large-scale projects.

  ### 32. Adobe Indesign

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Prem P. | Graphic Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 05, 2024

**What do you like best about Adobe InDesign?**

Adobe Indesign software is best software , mostly we are using this software for printing purposes but now we are using for digital like web banner, mobile aaps etc.

Adobe Indesign software is best software for me just because I am using this software, because everything in this software, Whenever you use for printing or digital, nothing to dislike for this software

**What problems is Adobe InDesign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Adobe Indesign software helps me in many ways, like if I have to design a book or if I have to make a banner for a website or if I have to do a design, all this is done to me in one software. I don't need any other software.

  ### 33. The industry standard for a reason

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Roland M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 13, 2024

**What do you like best about Adobe InDesign?**

I've been using Adobe InDesign since it was rolled out as a replacement for Adobe Pagemaker. I've been fortunate to watch the development over time, and one of the best things I can say about it is that it has become easier and more intuitive to use. As I use it every day for marketing work, it's important that it flows well in our marketing workflow. The ability to have malleability through the multitude of features means that I can easily create for a variety of end users. In the end, this solves a lot of issues with regard to the continuity of branding and easily implements a consistent message across multiple platforms. It also integrates nicely with the rest of the Adobe suite of tools.

**What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?**

There are few downsides to Adobe InDesign, but one of them is that it would be fantastic if they would have kept the ability to create a wide variety of digital publications. I do miss that, even though we use another software integrated with Adobe InDesign to achieve this. I can only imagine the resources Adobe could bring to bear on this, expanding the rich media communications we could offer.

**What problems is Adobe InDesign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We regularly communicate reports and proposals to clients and potential clients, and the ability to offer a consistently branded message is a godsend. When creating content across multiple users, the ability to make that content capturable for redeployment is not just a time-saving tool, but also a quality-enhancing one.

I love the grid system, overflows and that you can create so many styles and just adopt them to your huge body of copy. There are no tedious tasks or long editing if you know how to use all the tools provided. I have used it for almost 10 years and it continues to get easier!

**What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?**

I have to rechoose a workspace every time I open it, but I haven't seared to see if I can reset my default. I am sure there is a way to fix it, it's just not intuitive.

**What problems is Adobe InDesign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I need to generate a lot of brochures and one-pagers for the sales team, and once the template is set, the rest is just drag and drop for another perfect product!

I can work on a design without it being too heavy by using low-resolution links, and then package the file to send to my supplier, client, or share with a colleague.

It does not allow certain actions like Adobe Photoshop to automate my work, such as making curves, exporting, using the desired format, undoing curves, saving, and closing.

**What problems is Adobe InDesign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When working on large-scale designs, I can create a version with a low-resolution image in InDesign, then relink the high-resolution image and export it in PDF, TIFF, or JPG format, and it works perfectly.

The multi-page design (with face-to-face sheet viewing interface) it provides is very effective for all kinds of document design, such as architecture portfolios. It can be seamlessly connected with Adobe Photoshop as well, to include the graphics edited in Photoshop to automatically be updated in the InDesign document as well.

It is especially useful for large files with multiple visuals and doesn't crash easily like Word would in same situation.

Would not recommend for simple documents. It can be a bit complicated for beginners.

**What problems is Adobe InDesign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Providing a platform for organised publishing and creating designing portfolio since it allows sharing with multiple devices.

**What do you like best about Adobe InDesign?**

There are enough people out there who are experts that I can learn from, that it didn't take me too long to master. I create 99% of our materials on InDesign because I can accomplish what I envision. I like the flexibility in colors that it offers too, I can create anything in any color!

**What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?**

There are a few functions that I need to use another program for. Mostly I would just love to create graphs within InDesign, but I just have to jump into excel now. There may be a way that I just don't know of. You do need to jump into photoshop or Illustrator to be able to change the color or something, but generally I do most of my work in indesign.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe InDesign:**

It is worth it, I promise!!! Great tool and once you learn it, you can do so many things!
