Perhaps Captivate application simulation is the best in the market that not only captures your screen in high-def but also allows you to create a demo, try-me and test-me versions in a single capture. First of all the Interface is good, you can customize it into great detail and personalization that everyone can adapt to its environment. When it comes to adding users, it's straightforward, you can even add users from a list with just the press of a button. The software is straightforward to learn unlike most of the other Adobe products which have a steep learning curve, I managed to learn it within a week. creating content is also superb with drag function, multi-angle views, subtitles, and much more features. you can create great commentary with learning presentations in which media can be added in many formats including videos, text, infographics and much more. the support is really nice, they reply fairly quick to your query, also the build in tutorials are really good. least but not least they got one of the best Text to speech software builds into the software, you need to download an additional two gigabytes or so content but the quality of the TTS is absolutely fantastic. **What do you dislike about Adobe Captivate?** the software takes huge amounts of system resources and even the installation is over 4 GIgabytes. **Recommendations to others considering Adobe Captivate:** If youre looking for an LMS software, look no further. **What problems is Adobe Captivate solving and how is that benefiting you?** Adobe Captivate is a Learning Management system software. ### 12. It gives you tremendous control over every single element that's on the screen and has the ability to control even more with advanced actions, variables, and java script. I've never used Stroyline (Captivate's top competitor), but in my opinion, Captivate's user interface is clean and easy to navigate. I also love the use of styles in Captivate. I can create just about anything and give it a style. Any updates I make to that style can be applied across everything within that style. I also love the smart shapes in Captivate. There are dozens of shapes you can draw and you can tie advanced actions to them, use them as buttons, use them to call variables...the possibilities are endless. I highly recommend using them. **What do you dislike about Adobe Captivate?** I've heard that the learning curve for getting up to speed with Storyline is much lower versus Captivate. Captivate is not always the most intuitive - you really have to tell is exactly what you want each object to do...there are very few things that have built in functionality. Everything is controlled through Advanced Actions, and it can get clunky, confusing, and time consuming. I've lost easily 300 hours of work, even when using 'save as' and naming my work in progress. While I should be able to recover Captivate files from the Cache, this only works about 40% of the time when using the two most recent versions of Captivate with Windows 10. My colleagues all have machines with Windows 7, so they have not experienced the multitude of problems I have with this product **Recommendations to others considering Adobe Captivate:** Don't use it with Windows 10! Which means if you work with a team and one of you has a new version of the software, anything that they create cannot be opened or modified by anyone that hasn't upgraded to the new version. Also, if you open a captivate project with the newer version, it will then save it as the new version. the only workaround I have found is I must keep multiple versions of Captivate on my laptop until everyone upgrades. Like anything else (but especially Captivate) it's easier to work through projects and understand what process needs to be done when there are at least two people handling the workload as well as helping each other to better understand how to effectively use the product. Also, it's easier to find some help on older versions since they've been out longer. There are other alternatives to Adobe Captivate that are equally as good and not as expensive - at least up front - so weigh your options and make sure to have a solid understanding of the task you or your team plan to accomplish and do a comparative matrix to find the right product for you. Price isn't everything! Ease of use is often more valuable than the initial payment.
