"Powerful What-If Planning with Seamless ERP/CRM Connections"
5/5
What do you like best about Adaptive from Workday?

Workday Adaptive Planning stands out for its powerful Elastic Hypercube engine, which instantly processes complex "what-if" scenarios. The platform eliminates manual data entry by automatically connecting to your existing ERP and CRM systems. It bridges the gap between finance and operation teams through shared, real-time dashboards. Finally, its Office Connect feature lets you refresh live data inside familiar Excel models with a single click. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adaptive from Workday?

Workday Adaptive Planning is kinda hard because it takes super long to load big charts and things. Sometimes the screens look really old like a computer from a long time ago. If you want to change stuff you have to learn hard rules and codes that are confusing. Also, it costs a whole lot of money so small companies can not buy it. "Comprehensive EPM Tool with a Learning Curve"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Adaptive from Workday?

I like Workday Adaptive Planning's ability to bring budgeting, forecasting, resource planning, and reporting into a single platform instead of relying on multiple spreadsheets. I also appreciate how we can collaborate using the real-time data, as it provides us a single and centralized planning platform with real-time dashboards, reports, and analytics to manage performance. This unification helps to automate and streamline processes, which was a significant improvement from our previous methods. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adaptive from Workday?

Overall, I have a positive experience with Workday Adaptive Planning. If I need to identify an area of improvement, it would be the learning style or curve for new users. While the platform is powerful and flexible, some of the advanced modeling, reporting, and admin features take time for users to fully understand. New users need to learn several core concepts like sheets, accounts and dimensions, versions across budget, forecasting, and actuals, and levels hierarchies. Apart from these, basic reports are straightforward, but creating executive dashboards, complex variable analysis, and cross-functional reports often requires a deeper understanding of the data model and dimensions. "Streamlined Financial Reporting with Powerful Excel Integration"
4/5
What do you like best about Adaptive from Workday?

I like Workday Adaptive Planning's very simple interface, making it easy to use. I find it easy to integrate with our ERP, which helps streamline our processes. The Excel add-in is particularly valuable as it allows us to build reports quickly into existing spreadsheets and share them across the business. I appreciate how the system pulls all GL transactions from our ERP finance module to build a hierarchy structure, which we can then use in Excel to generate detailed reports with just a few clicks. The ability to refresh and filter information in Excel and then share it using general Excel capabilities is great. It simplifies full month-end reporting as some can just click refresh to get the month-end data. Plus, the files can be stored in SharePoint and easily accessed by business decision-makers. It has good performance and returns results quickly. IT's a bit pricey but it does save a lot of end of month reporting time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adaptive from Workday?

I found the initial setup not easy and it required going back and forth with the vendor. There is also an upfront implementation cost. Additionally, adding new companies or making changes to the hierarchy requires vendor assistance, which is not ideal. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Highly Customizable, Always Improving User Experience"
5/5
What do you like best about Adaptive from Workday?

It is very customizable and can adapt (pun intended) to the growing needs of our users and leadership. The integrations between Workday and Adaptive are great and ensure we are aligned. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adaptive from Workday?

There isn't much that I dislike. I think there are some features that could be improved such as the HUBs performance graphs on the overview page. I think there could be some improvements on being able to report on cell notes within the planning sheets. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Transforms Financial Planning with Seamless Integration"
5/5
What do you like best about Adaptive from Workday?

I really like the elastic hypercube technology and the in-memory engine that allows for rapid, complex data modeling and real-time calculations. The ability to run unlimited "what-if" scenarios instantly to evaluate market shifts or financial changes is fantastic. I also appreciate how Adaptive from Workday connects easily with external ERP, CRM, and HCM systems, which does not require heavy IT support. The self-service ownership is a big plus, allowing financial and business teams to manage, build models, and edit rules themselves. Using the adaptive OfficeConnect integration with Microsoft Excel lets me build and format reports inside familiar tools like Excel and PowerPoint while securely pulling data from the real-time cloud base. "Powerful, Intuitive Financial Modeling with Strong Integrations and Clear ROI"
5/5
What do you like best about Adaptive from Workday?

Workday Adaptive Planning shines brightest where its powerful performance meets an intuitive UI/UX, making complex financial modeling feel surprisingly accessible. The platform seamlessly bridges data silos through robust integrations, driving an undeniable ROI that justifies the investment far beyond traditional budgeting tools. Backed by solid onboarding support and increasingly smart AI capabilities, it transforms what used to be a tedious forecasting grind into an efficient, collaborative, and forward-looking experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adaptive from Workday?

While Workday Adaptive Planning is powerful, users often find its steep pricing and complex onboarding support difficult to justify for smaller teams. Performance can occasionally lag during heavy calculations, and setting up advanced integrations often requires significant technical effort. Additionally, its AI and predictive intelligence features still feel somewhat basic compared to newer, more agile competitors on the market. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlines Budgeting and Forecasting with Real-Time Collaboration"
4/5
What do you like best about Adaptive from Workday?

What I like most about Workday Adaptive Planning is how it makes budgeting and forecasting much easier without relying on endless spreadsheets. The interface is clean and user-friendly, so it's easy for both finance and business teams to build plans, create reports, and collaborate. I also like how well it integrates with ERP, HR, and other business systems, giving everyone access to accurate, real-time data in one place. The platform performs well even with large datasets, which helps speed up planning cycles and improves forecasting accuracy. While it's a significant investment, the time savings, automation, and better decision-making provide a strong return over time. Workday also offers helpful onboarding resources and responsive support, making implementation and ongoing use much smoother. The AI-powered forecasting and planning features are another big advantage, as they help identify trends and generate more reliable forecasts. Overall, Workday Adaptive Planning is a powerful solution that helps organizations plan more efficiently, collaborate better, and adapt quickly as business needs change. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adaptive from Workday?

While Workday Adaptive Planning offers many benefits, it also has some drawbacks. The platform can be expensive, especially for smaller organizations, and implementation often requires significant time, planning, and training. New users may face a learning curve due to the platform's advanced features and customization options. In some cases, creating complex reports or models can require specialized knowledge, and organizations that only have simple budgeting needs may find the system more powerful than necessary. Additionally, the quality of forecasts and reports depends heavily on the accuracy of the data being entered and maintained. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Flexible and Intuitive Budgeting Tool for Mid to Large Organizations"
4/5
What do you like best about Adaptive from Workday?

I like Workday Adaptive Planning's flexibility and ease of use, which allows me to build detailed planning models while still being intuitive enough for business users. The ability to automate reporting, perform scenario analysis quickly, and collaborate across teams in a centralized platform saves time and improves decision making. The flexibility helps me quickly adapt planning models as business needs change. Automation improves data accuracy and eliminates repetitive tasks. Overall, it provides better visibility into business performance and supports more informed decision making. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adaptive from Workday?

Building complex models and troubleshooting are areas that could be improved. Better customization options for reports would be helpful. The dashboard needs better intuitive customization, and guidance for new users could be improved. Advanced visualization options and faster performance when working with large models would also be beneficial. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Workday Adaptive Planning: A Game-Changer for Unified Finance and HR Project Planning"
5/5
What do you like best about Adaptive from Workday?

We use Workday Adaptive planning for budget resource management and talent placement planning for the S4HANA project- it has been a game changer. It combines finance data with HR data all in one place without either finance or HR having to get data from offline. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adaptive from Workday?

Maybe the one thing I’d call out is the limited opportunities in terms of reporting on dates. As we’re working on a project, reporting and data availability is the key. However, we had to make some sacrifices in terms on what we can report on and how we use dashboards. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Reliable FP&A Modeling with Real-Time What-Ifs and Easy OfficeConnect Refreshes"
5/5
What do you like best about Adaptive from Workday?

The cube-sheet modeling and version control are what make this tool reliable for our FP&A cycles. I can run what-if scenarios across different revenue drivers or headcount assumptions in real time without it crashing, which was always a nightmare in Excel. The OfficeConnect add-in is a big plus—once our board decks and monthly reporting packs are linked in PowerPoint and Excel, refreshing actuals vs. budget figures takes just a couple of clicks instead of hours of manual copy-pasting. It also handles multidimensional rollups across multiple business units in a clean, straightforward way. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adaptive from Workday?

The learning curve for custom formulas and more advanced model administration can be steep. When you’re working in complex sheets, troubleshooting broken formulas isn’t always intuitive, especially compared with standard spreadsheet-style debugging. Also, if your data integration (ELT/ETL) pipelines from the ERP aren’t configured correctly, loading large, transaction-level datasets can feel sluggish, particularly during peak month-end close. Customer support can also take some time to resolve more specialized modeling tickets. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
