During high execution periods, the web console interface freezes periodically. The remote execution agents need to be upgraded by manually restarting the servers. The initial software installation and architecture setup process is very complicated and requires huge technical overhead. I do like the power of cross-platforms of ActiveBatch Workload Automation. We operate important processes across Windows and Linux servers with just one console which is very effective. As an example, in case an ETL task meets a problem, ActiveBatch will automatically re attempt it or raise certain warnings, which will guarantee the integrity of the data. The biggest complaint that I have with ActiveBatch is the logging verbosity of very large workflows. Although detailed, it may take time to go through long logs to identify a small problem. Also, sometimes the re-engineering of existing scripts or complicated legacy jobs in order to take full advantage of its advanced capabilities takes more re-engineering than expected. The best part of ActiveBatch that I like is the way it can perform repetitive tasks without my interference. The frequency of use is high as I rely on it to carry out my daily activities.
