There are at times unclear or incomplete instructions for non-critical support tickets. Being directed to documentation that I have already found on the site, but was not clear enough for me to fix the issues myself is not helpful. **Recommendations to others considering Acquia Digital Experience Platform:** Depending on the needs of your business and frankly the size, Acquia can be a huge reassurance for hosting when things go wrong or support is needed. The Drupal community as a whole is also a great resource. Without proper planning and written specification on how to maintain a Drupal server, sooner or later you'll end up with a disaster instance which your team will regret. Acquia tries very hard to solve this problem by promoting this work to system administrator's hand from developer's responsibility. With a simple UI, you can finish most of the Drupal server job under minutes, from deploying a site to backing up a database. Generally a client will request their platform to help reduce the overhead of managing web and database servers on there own in an AWS structure. This helps solve problems with managing multiple servers, setting up continuous integration and allowing for a managed team workflow. The benefits are definitely realized when developing larger websites that may experience high volumes of traffic and the ability to use CLoudFlare or other 3rd party CDN's to ensure uptime. The best thing (IMO) about Acquia is that they respond to industry needs almost immediately. Acquia's lift software is a great testament to that. **What do you dislike about Acquia Digital Experience Platform?** I think that Acquia has opportunities to better engage the "freelancer" with regards to helping to provide low-cost services to the small business and "boutique" clients. Their minimum server package runs around $200 (around) per month and that amount can price out the small business customer. This is disappointing from the security angle as these small sites (and Wordpress sites as well) are more prone to hacking attempts with less resources to meaningfully respond and protect. While speaking on the phone the other day with a consult, I felt as though I was being listened to and all of my needs were attended to. While constructing my website, I have formed a tight business relationship with my associate and it feels like the entire acquia team was on my side. I've hosted a Drupal 6 site with them and indeed they provided great features related to Drupal hosting. It also feels great knowing that our hosting/support fees went toward funding a company that is so involved in improving Drupal. When we got the attention of the right person, their support was topnotch with expert answers that helped keep our site working well. **What do you dislike about Acquia Digital Experience Platform?** The SLA in our contract might be typical of other managed hosting companies, but ended up not giving us very much value when we did experience downtime. In fairness, I believe most or all of the downtime we experienced was not Acquia's fault and instead was on their underlying server provider (AWS). It was often hard to tell whether the support team was really working on our issues. The SLA around support was particularly not great. I've worked with a client that had multiple types of users with different levels of access. The plan was to build a web app that allowed online learning so to accommodate users that teach, learn, observe, and much more was a challenge. **What do you dislike about Acquia Digital Experience Platform?** It could be more intuitive. I worked with a more experienced developer and my only previous experience at the time was Drupal 6 and Wordpress. We had multiple developers working on this one project from different locations with separate local staging areas and to see it come together and flow from one page to another was nice.
