The customer service is second to none. They are responsive, happy to help customise their product to your exact needs, and very very patient. The product itself is extremely malleable, easy to refine to your org's inevitably unique requirements, and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg. The dev team has helped set up custom features for us that make using it even faster, in the most recent case setting up a quick download feature that optimises images for our particular CMS. I also use the pre-download tools a lot, meaning that I can flip or crop an image before using it, saving me the hassle of offline editing. For our use case, it's almost "too much gun": it feels like a product meant for a much more intensive asset user, like a full time archivist or image manager. What that means in practice is that a lot of the customisations aren't dumbed down for general users, and seem intimidating. That complexity combined with both a clunky, somewhat outdated design and a challenging mental framework—the concept of ephemeral "collections" is really difficult for starting users to grasp, and there is no easy visualisation of them to help—makes for a somewhat superficial usage. We love using Resource Space as our internal photo library. The support is great. Clara checks in with us regularly, and the custom fields let us tailor this library to our needs. We also love the new look! Will definitely recommend. It's good value but we are under using it because we don't have capacity internally to really look after it, promote it and organise it. The collection feature is very confusing. The fact that what we see on screen and what we see on the bottom banner is different is hard to remember and understand. We understand its use but most of us don't it because it's too much to process. With ResourceSpace, we have a web-based platform that is user-friendly and covers all our requirements through the system's features and characteristics. The software is invaluable for storing and sharing our digital content. ResourceSpace saves us so much time by making processes more efficient, whether it's editing assets in the DAM instead of downloading them into an image editor, or the ability to create collections. The collection features allow us to categorize files, make them easily accessible to users, and share individual files or entire collections with external partners. Access to the content can be individually unlocked by us depending on the user's country & language. Additionally, useful AI features have been integrated. There is nothing to complain about. The collaboration with Montala is excellent, and the constant developments and upgrades of the software are impressive. Having a DAM within the organisation makes it much easier to curate images for use across teams than relying on network drives and folders. It also provides greater control over how assets are downloaded and used, including the ability to apply usage restrictions to individual assets where needed.

The interface is intuitive and user-friendly, so colleagues require minimal training to start using the platform. ResourceSpace offers a range of out-of-the-box integrations, with further options available through our account manager. Its roadmap for future updates is well documented, and updates are delivered regularly with minimal, if any disruption.

The platform is fast and makes managing a large asset database straightforward. Support is excellent when required, typically provided by email or video call with screen sharing. We host a large volume of photography in our DAM. Accurately adding metadata to event photography can be time-consuming, particularly when uploading a large amount of content at once. What I like about ResourceSpace is the straight forward user experience and elaborate ways in which you can it fit your business and be part of your workflows. Overall performance is fast and allows for a variety of media, documents and files to be searchable, viewable and shareable including all the Metadata you can think of. Combine this with the OpenSource aspect and minimal requirements to start using I think this makes it a perfect fit for a lot of different use-cases and businesses. There are a few glitches that can be frustrating when entering metadata. Sometimes, out of nowhere, the metadata seems to change, and we’re constantly having to go back in to check and adjust it to make sure the correct checkboxes are selected to restrict access to certain images. It's honestly everything. The core software itself is awesome, the team behind it is amazing. Working in marketing for a charity, we have stringent media management requirements and users with varying levels of technical knowledge and comfort. The system is easy to use, and feedback is positive from all.

The human support is very nice, responsive, and knowledgeable, and there's a ton of help in the form of documentation and video too.

It's open source, so you really have a brilliant system for free if you're willing to support it yourself. If you pay ResourceSpace to support it, on one hand the price does feel a bit steep, even with the charity discount; however, the problems it solves, the faultless premium support, the continual improvements, the peace of mind, the expertise and the 20 years experience they have working with so many organisations of different sizes in various sectors, it's very difficult to argue that they aren't worth it. So far it appears to have had 100% uptime in my experience too.
