**What do you like best about Occupier?**

The most helpful aspect of occupier in my experience has been that it helps manage lease expirations as well as helps you to set up tasks related to leases such as permit expirations, franchise agreement expirations, etc., so that you keep on track of everything within your company in relation to leases. It is very easy to set up tasks and you can even set up email reminders when your tasks are close to being due. Customer service is also very responsive and helpful.

**What do you dislike about Occupier?**

I wish that it was easier to select a specific location when using occupier. As of now, you must search the store number or the exact address in order for that store to pull up. Once you put in your search criteria, if your mouse is not hovering over the selection area, or you click something else on your page, your search disappears. When you are multitasking, and possibly using multiple screens, this can be frustrating.

**What problems is Occupier solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our company operates over 40 fast food locations. It can be difficult to manage that many leases at once. It is hard to know when rent increases or when a lease is going to expire when you do not have them organized. Occupier helps us to organize all of our leases as well as manage any updates/expirations with ease. It takes out the organization aspect as well as the human error aspect. It has helped us manage our leases immensely.

**What do you like best about Occupier?**

We've had a fantastic experience with Occupier. The software offers a comprehensive, intuitive solution for tracking and administering our entire lease portfolio of over 170 locations. It has made managing our real estate obligations significantly more efficient and organized.

What really sets Occupier apart is its outstanding customer service. Their team is responsive, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful. They’ve gone above and beyond to tailor the platform to our specific needs and have walked us through every step to ensure we get the most out of the system.

If you're a tenant looking for a user-friendly, powerful lease management solution, I highly recommend Occupier. It’s been a game-changer for our operations.

I don't have any complaints right not.  I would like to see the inclusion of AI into the software, and I've heard that this is currently being worked on by the Occupier engineers.  So - Keep up the good work Occupier!

Before using Occupier, we struggled with scattered lease data, manual abstracting, and inconsistent critical date tracking. Occupier has completely solved those issues by centralizing our lease information in a single, easy-to-navigate platform. We now have automated reminders for key dates, real-time visibility into our lease obligations, and a standardized process for abstracting and reporting across the portfolio.

**What do you like best about Occupier?**

One favorite feature of Occupier is its lease timeline and date tracking, it automatically alerts the team when critical dates are coming up—like renewal deadlines, rent increases, or lease expirations—so nothing slips through the cracks. This helps us avoid costly mistakes like missing a renewal window or overpaying rent. Secondly the programs ease of access and user interface is simple and easy to navigate. Lastly there top notch support team is unbeatable when it comes to helping us navigate any issues.

**What do you dislike about Occupier?**

It can be a bit limited in customization, for example when tracking a unique lease clause, like a specific local tax or co-tenancy provision, there isn’t a standard field in Occupier.

**What problems is Occupier solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Occupier helps us keep all our lease info—like rent details, deadlines, and documents, in one easy-to-use place. It stops our team from missing important dates or scrambling to find files across emails and spreadsheets. This saves us time, prevents costly mistakes, and keeps everyone on the same page.

**What do you like best about Occupier?**

Occupier is very user friendly, and makes it very easy to keep track of leases. The customer support team is phenomenal and very responsive with any questions you have. They have a 6-8 week implementation schedule and were very helpful in giving weekly updates as to how many leases were abstracted.

**What do you dislike about Occupier?**

It would be really cool to see Occupier as an app, right now it's just a webpage. I know it would be very beneficial for us, espeically if we are on site, to be able to pull up the lease information directly frmo the software.

**What problems is Occupier solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Occupier holds all of our leases, showing us an in depth portfolio of all properties we own and lease, while showing us the values of them. We are able to see all the property information in one spot and pull documents and lease questions very quickly.

**What do you like best about Occupier?**

As I experience Occupier for over a year now, I move on from the Lease Administration and learn about the deal tracker.  It has more information than it can hold for the property at development stage.

**What do you dislike about Occupier?**

When looking at a property on the Accounting side for example, if I want to get out of Accounting and go to Lease Admin, I can't just click on it.  I have to re-enter the property on the Lease Admin in order to view it.

**What problems is Occupier solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As our number of stores are growing, I can't just remember the store numbers or the street names on my head, Occupier can search or do a quick look up for the property easily by just typing a few key words.

**What do you like best about Occupier?**

I'm overall impressed by how user friendly it is. The interface is simple, clean, and intuitive. It may feel overwhelming at first for new users, but after investing more time into this software, it did not take too long to understand the software. Occupier's automation features definitely helps to streamline our accounting processes. Generation of reports including detailed calculations and journal entries are a great help as well.

**What do you dislike about Occupier?**

Some functions can be a little inconvenient at times, especially when trying to customize certain reports. It has been more of a burden to manage the data for our subsidiaries, since our company has different entities. For us to pull consolidated reports, we needed to create duplicate leases for both consolidated and individual reporting purposes.

**What problems is Occupier solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Occupier is able to create adjusting journal entries for any remeasurements, which is a huge help for the accounting side. This has been very convenient for us as it saves us a lot of time from creating adjustments for reconciling our GL.

**What do you like best about Occupier?**

Occupier in principle allows multiple departments internally to share lease and asset data in one central location

**What do you dislike about Occupier?**

I frequently have to contact Occupier to fix problems and at least in one case they have admitted that there is no current fix and I will continue to have to reach out to their team to manually delete duplicated entries. Multiple problems include a payables system that forgets what vendors are used month to month making it nearly useless. Depending on the timing of updates made within the system I will have trouble updating a file because it is stuck in an approval but the system doesn't tell me that it's stuck in an approval, so I have to make sure that I initiate a change, get it approved before I do additional changes or the system will take issue. The only way to bring up some of these issues is by emailing a point of contact and that point of contact might have to send me to someone else but it's unclear who handles what specialty. It would be nice if I could raise the issue inside of Occupier and flag what screen is causing issues and the system would send the issue to the specialist needed. The Trial Balance cannot be edited, I can add input, I cannot change items that have been reclassified or disposed of over time. As a result, if I am trying to reconcile to an Occupier report I have to note any exceptions made. The account mapping is difficult to find and convoluted, I find it challenging to understand why Occupier has done something, so I find myself having to ask. Also, when I ask for items sometimes, I'm denied because the team has decided it is too much work, I don't have any way of knowing or understanding when I will cause too much work, so I am frequently asking and trying to understand. Changes will happen in the system, and it will not be clear why, some users can apparently change something without an approval process while others like me have to send requests. At times when sending these requests, the software mistakes who the user is, there is a user that has not worked at this company for over a year, and I can initiate a change and the system will say the prior employee initiated it. This can leave a gap in security because I can then approve my own request which is a problem and poor record keeping. I can't say that I have a lot of experience with ASC 842 services or software but in my previous company we utilized a specialist, and I think by comparison that method worked more effectively than what Occupier is attempting to do. I utilize Occupier on daily basis and I have found that it is difficult to use aside from specific tasks, I generally have to mentally prepare for a long day of using it in order to feel like I accomplished something by the end of the day.

Occupier is theoretically keeping the company I work for in compliance of ASC 842 but because of the lack of clarity and security holes within the software that could be debated because of user errors.

The dashboard is easy to work with and the display as well as the export work seamlessly.

The search should work on any field and not just based on the lease name.  The payables field should be able to search via an invoice number if that is the only thing provided to us.

The Payables feature was just released so we are working through that.  This is what would benefit us.

Payables is not the easiest to use for analytics, but the team is consistently improving and developing based on real time feedback to improve,

My favorite thing about Occupier is the disclosure reporting feature. It made it so easy to create the notes in my financial statements that tied directly back to the software. It makes the audit process over those notes go smoothly as well.

Lease extracts can take a few days so it isn't instant.

They help keep our leases organized, the journal entries are easily extracted into our ledger and the disclosure reporting is a lifesaver!

Occupier's user interface is the best feature. I would give the ease of use a 5-star rating. The editing capability and streamlined workflow help users save time and effort. The customer support has provided prompt service and troubleshooting solutions.

**What do you like best about Occupier?**

Occupier is a user friendly software that allows you to store documents, print useful reports and measure leases in accordance with ASC 842 lease accounting. There are settings for internal controls and customizable fields so you can make sure the reporting is a good fit for your accounting needs.

**What do you dislike about Occupier?**

There are a few features (like uploading leases) that the user doesn't have privilege too. You need to email Occupier for help. They are very quick to respond though! Reports are also generated via an export that is emailed to you. Sometimes takes a bit.

**What problems is Occupier solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's a solution to measuring your leases for accounting! It's also so nice to be able to pull reports on all your leases and be able to access all the lease documents easy. I also like the internal controls around the lease adminstration view and the accounting view.

Easy to navigate, easy to understand, easy layout, and overall - very user friendly! The customer support is great ... they help and guide you every step of the way!

Not much I don't like about Occupier, but if I had to choose one... it would be they way rents and rent increases are reflected/managed - doing and "increment" is not the best.

Automating the data tracking system (vs. manually doing it in excel) and ensuring that all critical dates are not missed.

**What do you like best about Occupier?**

Two main features I appreciate about Occupier:
1. The website structure is very intuitive and clear. I have never had a hard time figuring out how to go from one section to another. The text and visuals are straightforward and easy to understand. For example, downloading the monthly reports needed to record journal entries is clearly available within the Lease Accounting module.
2. Amortization Schedules and Disclosure Report exports include formulas, making them more auditable and help provide understanding for analysis.

**What do you dislike about Occupier?**

1. Difficult to track monthly rent pre-payments without adjusting the payment schedule. This is particularly difficult for leases with escalating payments.
2. Not a perfect software for complex leases.
3. Sometimes the amortization schedules do not balance, particularly when a lease starts mid-month.

**What problems is Occupier solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As we have been growing and entering into more leases, we wanted a software to streamline the lease accounting process to provide efficiencies and also reduce risk of human error.

I like the customer support who are very diligent in answering questions and following up. I think that working with them has made our lease accounting much easier on us as a team.

**What do you dislike about Occupier?**

The new payables feature takes an extremely long amount of time to edit/update. I really wanted to like it and utilize it but I'm afraid that it's just not as efficient as I had hoped.

Because we have so many studios it is hard to keep track of dates, such as rent comencement, escalations, etc. I like to use occupier to rely on correct information for all of our studios.

**What do you like best about Occupier?**

Occupier is very user friendly and easy to learn. The software delivers the essential needs for any company that has multiple leases and needs to be ASC 842 compliant. Adding, amending, and terminating leases couldn't be easier. We've been using the software for just under a year now and we've seen everything from adding new leases, amending existing leases, and terminating leases. Everything has been easy to do and the Occupier generated reporting is fantastic. The tool offers solutions for everyone in the business, from accounting to finance to real estate teams. Both qualitative and quantitative details and reporting are possible with Occupier. The tool is easy to set up and you will be off and running quite quickly.

**What do you dislike about Occupier?**

Leases can be very nuanced so there is still opportunities for Occupier to become more robust to meet more nuanced situations (it is also possible that I don't know how to fully leverage the tools). For instance, I have not figured out how to set up partial free rent in a period when I am creating a new lease. It is easy enough to create a work around that gets me to the same place, but exact reporting for expense categories may be off due to the work around. What I do know, however, is that the Occupier team is always ready, willing, and able to help when I ask.

Occupier is solving our issue of lease tracking, centralization, and accounting. Everything was completely manual prior to Occupier and living in different places with different teams. For example, our real estate team managed and maintained qualitative details while our accounting team managed ASC 842 schedules, all in Excel. Everything was a process to review, update, report, or even find sometimes. Occupier has eliminated all these headaches by putting everthing in one location and creating a single solution so everyone in the company has one source of truth.

The accounting process for leases has been made much easier for our team. We no longer need giant Excel files to account for multi-year leases and changes to said leases. The product ensures that we've captured all relevant information at the correct time and allows for easy pulls of the data to support our monthly close & forecasting processes.

It would be great to see an easier / quicker way to pull a forecasted balance sheet (or maybe I haven't figured this out yet)

We no longer have to use clunky Excels and have a lower chance of Human Error due to more straightforward entries (no more changing of formulas to match specific leases)

Just like any lease Accounting software, there is a learning curve and it takes time to learn all the different functions that this software has to offer. Utilize their support group and you can overcome this challenge quickly.

ASC 842 Standard is the problem that Occupier is solving for us. Previously, we tracked all our leases on a cash basis in excel. This Fiscal Year for our audit we had to choose a software that would help us capitalize these leases appropriately.

**What do you like best about Occupier?**

Occupier has all the features I need for all my accounting activities from journal entry postings to the various reporting we do within our organization.  I value the ease with which I can download any data into user-friendly excel workbooks. We have a complex organization, and Occupier allows you to add several entities in addition to catering not only to US GAAP lease rules but also offers IFRS. The program caters both lessee and lessor which works great for our organization, and customer service is second to none which is really important for us as leasing is a huge part of our business .

**What do you dislike about Occupier?**

I dislike how an edit re-states historical data, it'd be nice to be able to choose when an update should take effect, but until then I'll use the "amend" feature.

**What problems is Occupier solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Occupier eliminates the complexity of lease accounting, saves me hours on creating reports from scratch such as amortization schedules, and it ensures me that my work is accurate as long as I enter my information accurately. It also allows me to remain ahead of schedule by setting notification and reminder schedules so that we do not miss out on lease extension windows and other important deadlines.

Coming from the lease accounting consulting space, I've seen and worked in many different lease softwares. I like how this software is easy to use and doesn't overcomplicate the fields to be entered upon lease commencement. The reports are also easy to run and read.

I don't like how when you run a report, it goes to your email instead of downloading straight from the site. It just adds an extra step to running reports.

I would start with the very affordable abstracting and onboarding of lease & related documents.  From there the platform is very easy to navigate and you have all your lease/portfolio matters at your fingertips.

Other, “more established” tools out there aim to do too much creating a clunky user experience with gaps in the data integrity between teams.

I had 98 leases I had to capitalize due to ASC 842.  This was such a great process.  We sent Occupier team leases who review leases and import into Occupier for us to review, approve.  Once GL accounts were assigned they had a Journal Entry designed to easily import into our accounting software.  They were quick to respond to emails, and would jump on calls with us to walk through our questions.

I had a hard time understanding what GL Accounts to create and assign.  A complete understanding of ASC842 is needed to figure that part out.

The customer support team and CPA experts are very diligent, responsive, and knowledgeable. I was impressed with how fast the implementation was. 

Occupier was foundational for transitioning to ASC 842 and for passing our audit. We could easily export custom reports and were able to give our auditors access to the platform.

**What do you dislike about Occupier?**

On occasion, we have to work with the team on manual workarounds for us. But thankfully their customer support is always helpful.

Occupier helped us prepare and pass our audit in a time crunch. Before we were scrambling with Excel and eventually realized we were not going to have enough time if we kept doing it this way. On top of that, some of our data was wrong which made it even more time consuming.
